Great videos! I bought mine about a week before seeing your first video. I agree about it being absolutely high quality all the way around and being well worth the cost for what you get. I'll only add that I'd been using very high quality converters in my previous audio interface (the well-regarded MOTU ESS Sabre-32s), and I still heard a striking improvement in sound quality when I switched to the Neumann MT 48. I was shocked at how obvious the difference was for both the A/D D/A converters and also, as you mentioned, the headphone amps. Man, they sound good! Thanks for the videos. Cheers.

I have the Neumann mic, two years later I got the kaotica eyeball and was blew away by the sound; so I just ordered the mt48 and super excited to finally get my hands on it 😭 I’m bout to get the Neumann closed backs and a few more plugins and I might wanna release music finally. Been recording myself for 3 years and put a lot of time and effort into music. I fell in love with the process and have fun with it. I started to get rich and famous but now idgaf and I just wanna put out good art. Took on the journey to buy a $1,000 dollar mic off the rip and just start learning how to use FL, network with ppl and learn how to have better business skills. Haven’t made a dime from music and spent thousands but I love it. Forced me to get an oilfield job and sleep in my car for two months just to get closer to a better future and to support my hobby (music). Really paid off but when I moved from VA to Texas I didn’t get a place so I was often going to the studio and stopped investing in music equipment. Learned that u gotta shop for engineers and found one who uses the same daw (shoutout FL) and connected with other creators. Don’t settle for an engineer til they bring ur inspiration to life. U can find one just keep paying for new mixes every song. Unfortunately I got hurt in the oilfield and on workers comp but I had enough to buy interface and can buy other equipment and release music the right way cause I really developed myself more than just an artist but as a person. I took a risk, took a job that would put in a better position financially, physically, and mentally and even tho I got severely hurt I’m still here and somehow my dream came back to comfort me while I’m still recovering. Don’t wanna be famous or rich I just wanna work and release my music from afar kinda like Shiloh dynasty. Thanks for the read if u did

Hey Uncle Dave. couple of things you forgot to mention about the MT48. 1. that it records at 24 bit or 32 bit audio. and its true 32 bit. not floating 32 bit audio. 2. if the touchscreen is too small you can use the usb out to hook it up to a ipad. or other bigger screens. 3. you should have done a recording demo on a laptop. so people can hear the monitor outs quality. and the recording quality and resolution. i understand that coming up soon on the other channel. but good review overall. i am glad you like my reccomendagion of merging and now neumann. i never recommend anything but the best quality gear. waiting for the video of the mt48 on the next channel. If you mentioned the ipad then i forgot about it. And i apologize for pointing that out.

I did mention the iPad in one of the other videos. at least I think I did. :). It's a great interface but not something that I need in my studio. You seem to have lots of answers & opinions when it comes to gear. Where is your TH-cam channel? I notice that the people who are the most vocal in the comment sections of YT videos usually do have not much to share. They just like to tell people what they do wrong in their videos....LOL. Anyway, thanks for watching

@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy i dont have time for to keep up a youtube channel. I have a business to run also. I can say that i have been successful in the music business. I have been doing it since the 80's. And still writing and producing electronic music .But also have a business outside of the music industry.( Unfortunately not so easy to make alot of money in music unless you tour now). But i did it full time for many years. Between all that i also have a family life. I have no interest in having a youtube channel. It is a good idea for you great. To promote your studio and have a full time career in mixing . Awesome. But not everyone wants a youtube channel. I dont bash your videos. I just pointed out a few things you missed and that other reviewers of the mt48 missed as well. I do serious research and have old friends that work in commercial and commercial mastering studios and between my research and their opinions. Is how i buy and comment on gear. Simple as that.i dont have a massive studio anymore. I have a massive server. No more analog gear. And 1 keyboard. Audio interface and monitors. Thats it. Simple. I do electrinic music. So i dont need much as in the past. I used to have a studio like yoours but with a harrison 32 board. And a neve 52 sidecar and tins of outboard gear. But for what i do it is not neccessary anymore. . I worked in commercial studios. I have been around this block. I studied electronics engineering as a minor in college and university. So i fix my own gear as well as other electronics. I think that is why i really deep dive into gear and even schematics etc.. i think you assume we are all begginers. No . But i acknowledge there is still to learn from everyone . None of us will ever know everything. But i do comment on what i do know as a fact. But i am not a know it all either. And thats why i watch videos on yt to listen to different opinions and facts.

I was disappointed it's not 32-bit floating audio. I was looking forward to not worry about gain settings... :/

    • @rsbcenter
      @rsbcenter ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@MichalMikulskiMM its actually true 32 bit audio option. Which is better then 32 bit floating. In terms of quality especially for higher headroom counts. Since the unit has 136db of headroom. At 32 bit it will sound crispier . Cleaner and more linear.

What about RME Babyface Pro FS vs Neumann MT 48 ?

really would love to have someone go over the aes 67 capabilities of this. I love the merging anubis abilities to create virtual inputs. I want to see how the mt48 accepts aes 67 devices.

Check out the Neumann website. They may have something

unfortunately neither neumann or any youtuber has done a video on the aes 67 capabilities of the unit. I would get this if i could integrate it into my network audio workflow like the anubis but have not seen the integration.

As best I can tell, Merging Technologies and one other vendor (Stagtech?) are the only two selling devices with AES 67 built in. Merging invented it. So expanding the interface with extra preamps via AES 67 will be extremely expensive, as their devices target film and TV industry. The easiest option if you have a project and need more than 8 inputs via ADAT is to rent a Merging Hapi. This wouldn't be the end of the world, as the preamps are the same and are high end. I've read others say you can connect some other AES protocols, but feedback was that it was kind of a pain in the ass getting it to connect properly. Definitely a MAJOR downside to this if you want AES expansion, but I think most people aren't looking at that for this product.

Hey man, if it wouldn't be too much, I need your help. I own an MT48 and am having an issue. I see you have mix 2 disabled (hence the green light over monitor B) and are likely using it to run analog outboard as external plugins in the DAW. Hopefully so, as I'm trying to do the same thing, but for some reason my audio cuts in mix 1 when I set lines 3/4 to direct routing in the USB I/O settings. This is how it's described in the user manual, but I can't figure out for the life of me, and they aren't super clear. They give pretty detailed examples for using the ADAT lines for it in the manual, and mention that it could also be done for lines 3/4. If you have any knowledge or tips on setting this up I would most appreciate it.

What are your thoughts on Neve 88M? Do you have a video about this interface?

Thank you for this video serie! I'm buying this interface. I wonder... What about the plugins and things DSP related? may one use AutoTune or something alike with it?
I was comparing it to Apollo Twin Quad and Antelope Discrete 4 and Antelope Zen Tour
    Any input there?

I actually did hook it up to an iPad, and it worked. I had to set it up to 32 samples (Extra) Latency in settings of the Neumann so there were no pops and stuff. You need the camera connection kit too for the lightning iPad, or just usb c iPad which works without the kit.

I will sent mine back, find the routing possibilities really limited when not using aes67. Also weird issue with stuff that is muted but still going to the reverb. Outputs are good but not greater then other stuff at this price. (Yes i used a hard to work with headphone dt880 600ohms) I think an Antelope Zen Tour SC or Orion Studio SC (not desktop), or RME UFX III (not desktop) babyface pro fs (sound less good) is more flexible in routing and dsp possibities. Yes i have 4 different reverbs but i can inly sent the analogue inputs to them. I can not record it… low cut highest frequency 80Hz. So i f i waant to low cut 100hz or even 120, i have to use 1 eq band.
Neumann gives the worst usb-c cables that exists in this universe. They are so bad they should not have been made!
