Was the box sealed? I don't remember if the boxes came sealed. Almost looks like the person whom you bought it from formed a box with packs with visible stars on top/bottom or was aware of factory sequencing. Awesome find!
Someone opened a case and searched out the hit packs, then seperated them out and put them into this box. I feel bad for the people who bought the other boxes from the case.
Then when he gets the cards back from PSA and there all 8’s and 9’s because he touched the cards without gloves and PSA uses black lights to check for oil from fingers and finger prints. LOL
I remember opening so many of these packs as a kid back in 4th grade in 89...they were only 25 cents a pack at the local minit mart..literally probably hundreds back then..

Remember pulling same back in '89. Bought box from liquor store & on top, untouched, was The Admiral, showing in a pack. Ditto MJ. Ditto Robinson Series 2. Just unreal. Note: the Robinson RC was victim of counterfeiting. PSA a must.

You can hold a light up to the packs and see who is on the top and bottom of a pack in these boxes. Some people search through them and keep any packs with Hall of Famers in them then sell the rest of the packs in a box on ebay. You have to be careful who you buy from...!
They have a sequential order so once you know the run, you know what cards are in the pack simply by looking at the top card This was a common practice when these cards were in the shelves in '89-'90
