Fran I am so grateful for you and your mom and Hannah. I was in a car accident and my world has been turned upside down. I have dramatically cut down my screen time. Partly because if the concussion and partly to reduce stress. I can ALWAYS count on Fabric Cafe for sweet, easy, loving content. I haven't started sewing again yet but I have been watching your videos. You just don't realize how much you mean to sew many. I love you and so thankful you are in my life. You mean the world to me. I am thankful ❤❤!
God Bless, prayers for a full recovery
Lifting you up in healing prayers. Hopefully one day soon you will not only be watching but sewing.
They are a fabulous company. Sending you healing thoughts.
Blessings to you on your recovery!
We all are thinking of you Amy and hoping for a speedy recovery so that you can get back to doing what you love 🥰 I'm so glad we're able to bring some happiness to you during this challenging time.
Thank you Fran !
You are such a sweetheart lady !
I like your explanations and that you are more on the “perfectionists” side… very tidy and very pleasant.
I like how you are showing the same fabric with different fabrics.
For those of us who are just getting started in quilting, I really appreciate this video!!! Thank you for doing it.
You're so very welcome! 🥰 I hope you enjoy your quilting journey!
I believe many of the 3 yard quilt patterns are very beginner friendly. Fabric Cafe does a great job with thier instructions. Love all the patterns.
🥰🥰
I just made this quilt top & it did go very fast. The cutting & sewing was easy & everything turned out beautifully. I plan to start the actual quilting later this week so should have all completed by the weekend. Beautiful colors!
This was a wonderful video of this pattern. Thank you for showing everyone how nice it looks in all those other fabrics! Love the dandelion print! Yes, please let us see other quilts put together. I would really like to see queen size done . King is too big.
Thanks Fran, great video from a great teacher.
Thank you so much for breaking your patterns down. I for one am just learning to follow your patterns and sometimes I get turned around. This helps so so much.
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful. 🥰
What a wonderful video!! It’s so helpful to hear the terminology and use of the directions. Thank you!!
Making the Evening Stroll quilt, it is quite a challenge to do all the triangles, it is looking spectacular. Needed a pattern where the focus fabric doesn't touch the number 3 fabric. My other two choices were Dash and Roman Holiday each of which I have made several times. I am amazed at how you are able to do all the calculations with using only three yards. This pattern is not a one-day adventure however. My quilting friend is also doing the same pattern with equally lovely results.
I always enjoy your tutorials😊
Great video. Motivates me to finish my current project so I can start a 3 yard quilt of my own 😊
You are a pleasure to watch. Thank you for your patient way of teaching.
Like your quilt top sewing videos!
Best video ever. You have taught me a lot. Thank you.😘
Thank you for this tutorial. I love the way you are always helping your viewers. I am a old timer but I still learn from you and your mom.
I love all of your videos but I think this one is my absolute favorite. It was so much fun watching you put this quilt together. My favorite quilt was Dandi. Jus love the idea of rolling around in the field as you said. Brings back some childhood memories.
Love all the Affinity samples that were shown; however I’m partial to the Americana fabric quilt. Great job Fran!
Thank you, Fran for this tutorial. Your explanation of cutting and labeling of the fabrics is helpful. So is the instruction on the cutting of fabric for multiple units in different sizes. I always get nervous that I will mis-cut those even though the diections are clear in the pattern.
Loved the show and seeing all the different kits in the pattern, really fun! Thanks!
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoyed it 🥰
Thank you for the video. It was helpful. I will be using paper plates instead of plastic bags. I like keeping each fabric in a separate stack. Can't wait to get my book.
Great idea with the paper plates! Good luck with your quilt! 🥰
Absolutely fabulous tutorial, Fran! Thank you so much! I like the froggy quilt most. It reminds me of my niece who used to play with real frogs as a child. As a senior citizen, she still enjoys all kinds of froggy decor!
That's wonderful! Thanks for sharing Sherry! 🥰
Thanks for showing us the sewing techniques and assembling the quilt, it was great to see your tips and tricks in action. Thanks again. Great quilt by the way. I'm only sad we can't get the patterns here in the UK. 😢
Beautiful pattern I love them all especially the blue kit❤
Great job Fran!! I love that you are showing how easy your patterns are to do. 99% of my quilts are from your books because I love how it all comes together easy.
Thank you so much Joy! I'm glad we're able to design patterns that you are able to use so often!! 🥰
Well done. Thank you for this excellent video. I see your Facebook followers numbers growing fast. The tips are good, computer generated sample quilts are terrific.
You are a great teacher! Thank you!
I always learn something new from your videos. You are an excellent teacher Fran! Thank You!
You're so sweet. Thanks for sharing! 🥰
I absolutely loved your tutorial on sewing a quilt. Hope you have a lot more like this. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Love the Affinity pattern, and the fabrics are just beautiful. Thanks for the helpful tutorial!
Such a great video with easy to follow instructions. Thank you Fran for demonstrating this pattern. I am anxious to try it now. ❤️
Fabulous job!! Thank you

Love the blue
What a great video with lots of tricks and tips! Learned so much! Thank you for your education video and easy patterns!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 🥰
Well done
Thanks for this inspiring video! It was so much fun to see the quilt in so many versions! I can’t wait to start my affinity quilt! 💕
Have fun and good luck!
Wow I love the purple
Hello Fran great job on quilt video. So useful when you show how it's all done. Thank You.
You are so welcome!
Really love this assembly, cutting video. I have been afraid to make a 3 yd quilt because I an a visual learner and am afraid I will cut something wrong and not have enough fabric to finish the quilt. I have all the free patterns and 5 books. This is the incentive to get me started.
Yay! I'm so glad to hear that 🥰 You can do it!
Thank you for the sew along. Would have loved to see you do it in different materials to show a different version.
I want them all !
Haha! 🤣
Great pattern and beautiful kits.
Just received my new book today. Looking forward to making one of the patterns very soon.
Hooray!!
I’m 73 years old and have decided that I want to leave each of my grandchildren a quilt before I leave this world, I actually think with 3 yd quilts I might make it, I love my grandkids so much and have made them all baby quilts but would love to give them a quilt made with love to them. I love your books and instructions and am one my way. Thank you so much for all the instructions.
My goal for 2024 is to make all 7 of my grands a quilt for their birthday. With Fran and Donna's patterns, I feel very confident!😊
I'm first...YES!!!
Yes you are! Yay! 🥳🥳
I'm not necessarily a beginner quilter but I've never followed a pattern - mostly made easy quilts like log cabin, rail fence & around the world.
Wondering if i this pattern is easy to understand? Fran, your video tutorial is really helpful! Any helpful thoughts are welcome. BTW love your channel. ❤❤❤
I love the way you explained how to cut and assemble the quilt it seems very easy, now is my problem, I suffered one stroke and my left hand is disable and I cannot hold the ruler for cutting the fabrics. Do you have some suggestions? I watch all your tutorials and have bought some books from your company. YOUR FAMILY DOES A GREAT JOB. CONGRATULATIONS AND BLESSINGS FOR ALL OF YOU.
I'm so sorry to hear that! I've heard of some people using a hand weight on their ruler to keep it from moving. Maybe that would work!
Oh cut then trim I run into trouble when I trim then cut …
Every time i go to the quilt stores to get one of your quilt books, they are sold out
Oh no! If don't want to wait for your quilt shop to get them in, you can always order them from our website - fabriccafe.com 🥰
❤❤❤
Curious why you press your seams open. I was always taught to press them to the dark. This does explain why you never recommend to press in certain directions to help the seams nest, though.
Hi Helen! We prefer to press our seams open as it reduces our bulk significantly and has found it is much easier to nest our seams that way. We also have some garment sewing in our background, so that has had some influence on that method. But the best way is the way the works for you 🥰
Beautiful quilt. QUESTION: can you tell me what the dimensions would be on your king size version, before I buy the book,?
All of our Queen/King sizing instructions found in our books finish at approx. 107" x 98" 🥰
I am in the UK and I love these fabrics but I can't locate this fabric collection without who the manufacturer is. Can you help.
Hi Judi! They are Benartex fabrics from their Fantasy Garden, Marbella & Basic Texture lines.
I do not understand how to order? The pattern is called affinity but it isn't listed in the patterns. It says book deal, we suggest Rolling Stone? Why? I don't know what patterns are in Rolling Stone? So for $44 I get a pattern, a book and 3 yards of material, Right? How big is the quilt?
I am just curious as to why you don't use a 'leader' when you start sewing. Thanks.
Hello! Fran's machine has a built-in walking foot which helps to eliminate the need for a "leader". You could still use one if you would like. We have found that it can be personal preference. 😊
You might not want to abbreviate assembly as ass:)
Haha, so true! 🤣
Most of the video is very good. However, during the close up shots -too often when you're sewing, your left hand is in the way--it blocks the view. Your camera person needs to find a better angle!
