      #GHOSTIN! My club has a Center patch that is an iron cross we started in 1959 the first outlaw mc in North Dakota. West Coast Choppers used to rub me raw. Because of a incident that's some unaffiliated A hole had a West Coast Chopper shirt and got in trouble with the law they didn't catch the idiot so the cop's come to the club house and harassed us looking for this idiot so you really got to watch out who's wearing what

    The diamond 13 patch was created in Southern California as an anti-AMA (American Motorcycle Association) common patch. It was used by the early outlaw clubs to mark their distinctions from the AMA clubs and also express their dissatisfaction and defiance of AMA. In the early 30s, AMA tried to take over the motorcycling and club scene. Resentful of the rules that AMA had set up, outlaw motorcycle clubs were born, and the 13-patch culture was birthed. The 13 diamond patch also stood for the top 13 racing outlaw motorcycle clubs in southern California. These top racing outlaw motorcycling clubs were awarded both the patch and trophy. They became part of what was called the diamond club. The diamond club was a small part of the southern California outlaw federation racing scene.

    I do not wear any patches on my cut, I some times tag along with some biker clubs, but never felt the urge to joining any. I am half Latino and half Dane, my motorcycle describes the half Danish side of me with a valkary painted on the tank, a viking shield on the rear fender and a Mjolnir on the front fender.
    Knowing quite a bit about viking history and culture, learning that runes being associated to white supremaci in the MC culture is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. There is no part in viking history saying that vikings where racist. It is time that MC clubs stop taking symbols that has nothing to do with the culture and repurposing as a completely different meaning.
    If someone is going to call me out as a white supremist because I have Viking symbols on my bike they can go fu** them selves, because they do not know shi* about Viking culture and hystory.
    Max respect to you Sose, keep up the good content comming. I know you do not make the rules with outlaw patches, but some of these rules are just BS.

    #ghostin Sose - While I have never had associations with MC culture, I am so glad you are putting the word out to people on what patches are acceptable and safe vs. Ones who might be questionable or outright ones you stay away from at all costs unless you are in that specific MC. You could be saving the live / lives of non 1%'ers or non affiliated riders by making videos like this. I seriously thank you for that, as my uncle just recently got a motorcycle and it could help to know these things.

    @robanybody84 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Very informative. A lot of patches that I never heard of, the red cross one in particular. 1%er I think is universal in all MCs, ours in particular, you can have the symbol on clothing if gifted to you by a board member, but never as a patch on the vest. We also put a lot of emphasis on the side-rockers, it is like a status of friendship with different chapters around the world and has to be gifted only by the president of the said chapter. All club patches are kind of self-explanatory, you need to be a member.

    • @thedoveston6781
      @thedoveston6781 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wondered about the side rockers. I know a few 81 as they're particularly strong in my area (SE England). Quite often I'll see random members - either local or not - with side rockers from charters in other countries and always wondered why. I assume it's something along these lines.

    Some of the patches "not allowed" is childish, but none the less, opt for the safer riding rout. Do clubs still wear different color wings "symbolic" and if so, could you review on that?

    Sose for those of us who don't get a chance to ride you are a great source of knowledge. For far too long people have gotten their info about bikers from the Media, the cops and some rather sensationalist writers. I've heard of some of these patches before but the people giving the "meanings" are not bikers. It's nice for someone inside the culture to give some straight information.
    I have friends that ride and Bikers and their supporters do show up at where I work. We have a Boozefighter, Vagos and there was an employee who had a "Trust us we're not the cops: 81 support club" on a Dodge Police Magnum. Bikers are people good, bad and someplace in between.

I got plenty of boys who are in black outlaw clubs.... solid friends for sure but it can be really difficult at times. It's not that easy to just throw on a patch. Do your research, hang around for a long time and then if you prospect and it's something you want, go for it. Most importantly, learn how to ride long hours and in formation.

    Been to several shows and events hosted by the local dominant club. Here in the UK all the members I have met and spoken with have always been courteous, polite and funny. I guess it's down to mutual respect and good manners. I have learned by a past mistake. Luckily resolved and hands shaken. The members here don't seem too bothered about most bike related patches. I guess it's because it's a slightly different MC culture. Any hostility lies between the two biggest clubs in the country and has lead to deaths on each side in the past but this is extremely rare. As usual the press do not help. The cops actually seem to have some level of respect.

    I learned the runic alphabet as a kid. The stories my grandma would tell me were mostly Norse myths. Sometimes the runes would be mentioned in the stories. On many occasions, knowing this simple alphabet has come in handy, when seeing them on patches and tattoos. Unfortunately, most of the time they're spelling out some supremacist slogan shit. But every once in a while they're not! That's always nice to see, because they never had anything to do with hate-groups. It's just an old alphabet, like any other. They can even be used to write bedtime stories. :)

    I once saw someone on the internet selling counterfeit Hells Angels patches; a set of the top rocker, the Death's Head, and the bottom rocker. The bottom rocker said Oakland. Any civilian wearing those colors and pretending to be a Hells Angel better have a liking for hospital food, because they will be eating it for a long time. Another patch is the red & white 666. Not sure where to ask this but here we go. I was riding with a friend of mine from Russia. He wears a jean jacket still sleeved its filled with a bunch of Russian military patches on it and the back has a Russian Flag with a straight patch underneath it that says bad boy in Russian. We were approached one night outside a bar we just stopped at. These 5 guys told my friend to take off his jacket and give it to them before they ripped it off him. He looked at them and said if you have a problem with me, we will gladly leave but i will not give you my jean jacket and trying to take it from me will not be good for any of us. i never seen the patch these guys had before but i recognized the patches of the next three that walked up. My Friend looked at them and said my buddy has nothing to do with this will you allow him to leave. Another guy came up looked at my friend and said follow me waved everyone else off told them to let me go inside. Watching out the window they both started pointing at different military patches they had and talked ended up chugging a pitcher of beer each and came inside ended up having a great time but i don't understand what the first groups problem was. sorry for the book #ghostin

      When you get people from different parts of the world and different cultures, that can be a issue. Some patch may mean something to one person and something else to somebody else. I support anybody wearing a patch they earned, and don't blame them at all for protecting it. If those guys had a problem with one or more of his patches, a better approach would have been to just start a friendly conversation with him and politely questioned him about them. Sounds like it was just a big misunderstanding and one group thought a patch meant one thing, and your friend thought it meant something else.
      People need to mind their own business. This is a moto of lots of 1% clubs, but to a some of its members it means to stay out of our business, but we have the right to get into yours. As long as a patch isn't a exact patch of a known club patch, I don't think it's worth getting physical over. Maybe a conversation to try to find the patch wearer's intentions, and if he just gets smart about it or you find out he's trying to claim something he didn't earn, deal with it however you see fit, but if it's just a honest mistake there is no need to trying to forcibly remove the offending patch.
      I've been around a long time, and have learned over the years that it is much better to try to talk though a situation than get physical. I don't wear any patches, but you try to lay hands on me to remove something on my person, you may or may not whip me, but we are fixing to find out.

      It apparently made it to the sales floor before they figured out it was a bad idea. I can’t find anything online about it.

    I’m not in a MC but when I came home from military time a lot of my buddies I grew up with became club members! Having just getting out of a culture that had a lot of people telling me what to do so the last thing I needed as a civilian was people telling me what to do as a probate!!!That said I rode with them partied hard with them etc!!! I have patches on my leather and can give anyone a reason why I wear the patch. I wear 2- nazi SS in remembrance of my grandfather who took the patch off a dead nazi he shot in WW2! My POW/MIA for my moms brother who died in Korea trying to help a MASH unit pull out fromthe front and a silver bar for my older brother who was shot down flying a F-4 phantom over Viet Nam! So I feel that if you wear a patch you should have a reason. Am I wrong in thinking this?

    • @eciekoc
      @eciekoc ปีที่แล้ว +13

      The only thing that some might find wrong about wearing them is that they aren't any achievements of your own. Also, the SS patch will undoubtedly cause people to think you belong to a certain group.

    • @bryano2130
      @bryano2130 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ok, say you meet an MC at a bar, and they ask you about your SS patch. They think the answer is bs, so then they ask you about your POW patch. You give them some story like the one you gave us. They will call you out so quick, then they'll do one of two things. Either let you enjoy your beer and leave, or they'll forcefully remove those patches for you.

    • @paulfrost8952
      @paulfrost8952 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bryano2130bye your own reasoning MC shouldn’t wear SS badges unless they too are Schutzstaffel ( SS ) the same would apply to the Prisoner of War ( POW ). However in the UK a person who hasn’t received a military medal may wear it on the opposite side to some who had received that medal so as to distinguish the difference! This is usually done on Armistice Day 11th of November to honour/remember fallen loved ones.

I buy support gear for support and as collectibles. Sadly it does happen and have seen were Johnny citizen buys support gear and gets jammed up and throws the club name out there like their a member NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! Also as a Veteran this pertains to us also see people wearing patches of a certain branch or unit mostly claiming to be with or served as Special Operations Operator generally you won't see one decked out or bragging in say Seal patches or anything saying they were one. Same as MC clubs while dressed in civilian clothes 90% of time you wouldn't know you were around one unless they have visible tattoos with club insignia. You can be in an MC, that doesn't necessarily mean you're any sorta gangster or outlaw. If you wear the 1%, symbolic of being an outlaw, you gotta be able to back it up. You dont need a whole MC to back it up, some people have enough folk for that.

    When I was a boy one of the men of our area thought I was in mortal Danger. So he snatched me out of the water. Mostly by one arm and dropped me on the deck. I landed on my feet. He asked many questions about what I thought I was doing. As I answered him he stopped me in the middle of my explanation. He did a kind of a stutter which I think was put on. His voice was very familiar to me. He asked about the patch that was on a cut-off jeans just below the left pocket. I said what my skull and crossbones. He replied yes why are you wearing that. I told him that my family adopted that as part of our crust in 1746 after the battle of Culloden Moore. Then in 1817 another one of my four bearers & his brother were asked to leave Galveston Bay . They complied but not until they dropped yards of two ships on to their deck. I said well what's fast forward to today. Last year my family manufactured more rat poison in any other family in the world. At that point I thought I was pretty sure who he was. I asked him if he had noticed the embroider on the bones. He said " No, What does it say?". I wondered if he would recognize the words. I quoted it very simply "Nemo me impune largesse. I asked if he knew what it meant? He Said that was the motto of his house. I asked him if it on his B-24. I have retold the story whenever I've been asking about my skull and crossbones. It has almost always ended up with us drinking until the wee small hours.
    El Degüello became kind of my song when we were on the border & I would ask a woman to dance between sets would almost always end up in a brawl. So two of our smart-ass violinists as they used to say we play that when you're on the prowl because it's going down. And yes I had people on my mother's side inside the Alamo. If on TH-cam search Rio Bravo Degüello you'll be able to hear the tune. The fake emperor of Mexico had his musicians play it for 13 days straight during the siege of the Alamo.

    If the pirate ship was flying a blood red standard it meant: "say a prayer and make your peace with god because you're going to be meeting him soon enough".
