You should try to shoot at least three rounds before you change anything on your scope. The reason for that is that if you only shoot on round it could be that you hit that spot by mistake. For example, there could have been a gust of wind or anything that ould have affected your shot. I love the choice of gun. German guns are pretty damn good.
If your first shot is way off and you know you didnt pull a shot, it is ok to adjust straight out of it with a center fire, then start adjusting off of groups. At 100 meters if you shoot anything bigger than 222, 223, 224 wind doesnt really play any significant role unless it is a tornado.
That flopping on the rear cover would be thrown off that scope for range duty if it was me, hunting it wouldn’t be a big deal but for on the range shooting groups that would annoy the hell out of me. I really do enjoy your videos though Roe Stalker and inspired me to get a similar set up which I purchased today. Keep up the good work.
That rear cover moving looks weird on the video, I just made another one from the range and it just looks bad. But to be honest it does not hit me, but maybe it affects accuracy and I somehow subconsciously expect to be hit and flinch who knows... May remove it as well before another range session.

How did you like your Minox 3-15x56? i bought one recently really happy going to buy the Swarovski Z8 as well soon or the Zeiss Victory V8 tough choice.
At the moment Swaro for me, but I dont think there is much difference. Swaro quality control for Z8i sucks big time, mine has some dust inside and I know of 2 more that have the same issue and the back lens cover is annoying. Apart from that very good scope.
I own a V8 and Z8i, both are damn near the same optically. All comes down to preference on size, aesthetic, turrets and Illumination control. Swaro looks more elegant, Zeiss is beefier (I have the 36mm tube model, not the newer slim offering).
You doing it wrong. First do 3 Shots Group. Than move the group down to the center and make a nother 3 shot group. If you zero like this, you will zero all day long.

I looks that way, but it is not. You can mount the front lens cover anyway you want, but I think if it was opening to the right it could hit my eye...

Not sure I get your question. I zero at 100m and usually keep the scope at +4cm then I am on target for any distance up to 200m
