You're a life saver. When I searched for this I was worried that I was just doing something wrong and it would be too niche to find an answer for. This is the aspect of the internet I love. People with similar interests sharing useful knowledge making the whole collective better and smarter.
People often refer to this as "the automation glitch in FL Studio", but it's not a glitch at all. This is how it is intended to work, and it can in many cases be very useful. However, it's understandable that it can also be quite frustrating if you don't know about it, and the automation keeps on affecting stuff after you've seemingly deleted it from the project. :)
@@clever-username It's basically for the same reason that freezing and unfreezing tracks in FL studio is not as straightforward as in most other, more linear daws. Due to the modular free form design of FL Studio, more complexities are introduced. This brings a lot of flexibility to the application, but at the same time, it can also make seemingly simple tasks, such as freezing / unfreezing or deleting automation much more tedious than you might think it should be. It all has to do with the modular approach where anything can be linked to anything, and automation is no exception. In FL Studio the same automation can be linked to multiple controls for example, and if that were the case, then deleting it from just one knob would essentially disconnect it from everything else too, which wouldn't be ideal. In FL Studio you can even make an automation clip that automates another automation clip if you want. All this complexity enables you to do some pretty crazy stuff, but it also comes at a cost. :)
i did this with half time on the master as a fun effect, and then when i deleted it stayed, but i deleted in initialised controls, and even still evry mixer channel i click on it plays that channel in half time, so if i click my master for example the whole thing plays half time, if i click my melody, that plays half time and the rest is normal... anyone know a fix?
Great vid, but it didn't work for me. I Was working on a quick little loop entirely in the pattern editor, and my (accidental) volume automation stayed even after deleting it from initialized controls. I had to go to the channel rack, right click on the volume knob that was automated, select automation>edit events, and then delete it from there to fully get rid of it. Just throwing that out for anyone having the same issue.
Hello, I am having the same problem. Deleted the channel volume for this track in initialezed controls, but it still keeps having a life of its own. I used to record and then adjust the fader. Now it still keeps on moving as I ajusted it while recording, but I want to reset it to a fixed volume. Any ideas? Would really help me ou. Thanks iin advance!

I legit deleted the event and THE GOD DAMN KNOB IS STILL AUTOMATICALLY MUTING ITSELF! I spent more than an hour trying to delete this automation and then I finally found your video and was all excited to finally get this shit fixed all for it to change nothing! I've only automated ONE thing and it's automation set to MUTE my reverb/delay plugin. It just mutes the reverb on and off so I can only have the reverb come in on the last word of each bar. However, deleting it your way STILL DID NOTHING and I can still see the reverbs green light turn OFF the minute I press play on my project. What gives!
No matter what I did the mute automation stayed there. Even though maybe it was a bug so I closed FL studio and reopened it and it was still there. I finally gave up and deleted the entire project and just copy/pasted the instruments/midi to a new session lmao... I couldn't take it anymore! I need some tips on how to quickly/easily draw in the automation. It seems way more annoying than it should be. It should be SUPER easy to have an instrument or effect turn on and off at a very specific time. I know this is possible.. but it's no where near as easy to accomplish within 2 to 3 seconds the way it SHOULD be@@FireWalkMusic
I did a pitch wheel event and it was still in the piano roll. How to delete that too?? I had to right click the pitch wheel on the plugin to delete it (edit events) open the down arrow, then edit and select delete, I ended up deleting the controller function linked to the pitch wheel and had to link it to controller again.
Hi, if becoming a Patreon, do i get access to all your presets and Samples? If YES, what level of patreon is needed to be able to take advantage of all your "unreleased" SAMPLES/PRESETS and videos? :)
I deleted the automation event from the browser, but the parameter I had automated (a filter cutoff on Sylenth1) still jumps to an unwanted value. I can force the wanted value through Init song with this position. But when I output the project it ignores that init setting and uses the unwanted ‘phantom’ value. Very annoying

Hi, it's not actually a bug, it's the way it's intended to work due to FL Studios modular workflow. Just like if you delete a pattern in the playlist, it's not really "gone". It's the same with automation. Initialized controls will still be affected so this method should work. If you have a knob or a fader that is being affected by the automation, then try resetting the knob first, right click on it and select "init song with this position".

People are different, just as DAWs are different, so finding a DAW that works with you and not against you is the key. unfortunately, most people can't afford the time to learn multiple DAWs in order to find out which one is best suited for them, so many ends up sticking with whatever they tried first. :)
