I loved to go with my mother on Friday nights to shop for groceries. I was a good thing it was just me, because, we would end up with 2 carts filled to the top with everything from meats, produce, bakery, etc as well as pantry staples, bath and laundry supplies. We had a station wagon, and the paper grocery bags, filled to the tops, would be lined up across the back seat, on the floor in front of the seat and also in the back of the car in the cargo area. ALL FOR 40 DOLLARS, for 2 weeks of groceries. Milk was supplied by the "milkman" through the week, with his deliveries of milk from the dairy. Weekends, we had to make an additional run to the store for more milk and eggs. This was back in the early 1960's. Mom was shopping for a family of 6......2 adults and 4 children, ages 16, 14, 10 and 3. We were hearty eaters and mom fed us well. How she managed it all on my dad's income (he was self employed) I'll never know. My mom often commented on how she managed it all. But, like I said, we were fed well. That was important to my mother. She was a child of the depression, and even though they lived on a farm, raising their own livestock and butchering for their own meats, as well as my grandmother managing a kitchen garden and orchard and canning for the winter, sometimes food was in short supply. Things really got interesting and difficult for my mom when my dad got sick and could not work for 6 months. There was no income until he was well enough to continue to stay home on his own and care for my little brother so my mother could go to work. Eventually he was able to work again full time and mom continued to work (a church lady cared for my brother then). Feeding a large family can be an adventure.
@@lifeaswegomezhey guys it’s Ryleigh. Can you please do another grocery shopping/haul video again soon like before summer break starts for your kids or at the beginning of your kids summer break? Like where the kids pick out like snacks and lunches to eat during summer break and also pick out some treats for desert like popsicles or ice cream. Because we haven’t seen one in a while. So can you please do a video like that soon? Because I want to see another one. So love you guys love Ryleigh.
Love your haul! Yeah,I had to go to the store today too because I was outa few things, including fruits & veggies😉 I do paper plates too. I hate doing dishes lol Hoping for the best for your family❤️
In South Africa so I don't get the mouthwash you use. You're a great mom, Chelsea. I love your hair. Wish I could grow mine but I can't or I battle with it
I LOVE the grocery pickup from Walmart. Here in Ohio, Kroger does it too but they charge a $5 pickup fee. Your son is super cute and did a great job on the haul btw 😊
How do you know what kind of produce you are going to get doing the grocery pickup? I've looked at it before because I also do walmart in between my Costco and Sams runs but I have always been worried about the produce. How do they know what to pick, will they pick well, etc. If your kids love chicken nuggets, Sam's Club (not sure if you have a membership there too) has chicken nuggets that exactly like Chick Fil A's nuggets! Oh and don't worry we are paper plates all the way in this house too!!! The less dishes the better especially when you are always on the go.
I always want to help them but our Walmart wants us to stay in our car...they prefer it that way. I always feel unsettled because I'm young and able to help.
11:43 melted my heart when Livvy said “great job mom” awwwweeee!!
