I have watched Serial Mom so many times, but the 1st time I watched it, I didn’t realize this film was instrumental in my gay awakening. The gods were smiling when Kathleen Turner played this role. The entire cast were brilliant in their roles. Thank you for letting me revisit this wonderful film.
I must give this another watch. Similar tone to Nicole Kidman’s To Die For film from the 90’s.
Loved it when Dottie goes off in the trial and cusses up a storm.
The scene had me in tears.

Considering all the drama around the new Cleopatra movie, how about a review of one of the previous versions, namely Elizabeth Taylor.
Majors has Disney behind him, he'll be fine. Like most abusers in Hollywood (and the world; that's just how it is). Those texts from his girlfriend were extremely telling. If he loses one role, it's his fault, not a racist conspiracy. Anyway, hopefully thoughts of Cecil B. Demented will be shared on the podcast, once y'all see it! Waters' support of Depp made me lose respect for him, but that's everyone in entertainment lol. I just love that movie!! Oh and have either of y'all seen the doc This Film Is not Yet Rated? Waters was in it and the BTS of MPAA crap is so eye-opening.
My older female cousin Dominique showed this movie to me & my sister when I was 5yrs old, 6yrs old, 7yrs old all the way into my middle school years & this movie had/has changed my movie viewing experience forever, [in a great way] seeing Ricki Lake[my brother watched her show in the 90’s when he was in high school & i, in elementary school] was mind blowing to me as a kid.
I LOVE SERiAL MOM.
I watched Cry Baby many years later after I saw Serial Mom[ as a kid I thought serial mom meant that she ate a lot of cereal 🤣I had no business watching this movie], even though 1990 “Cry Baby” starring Johnny Depp came out 1st.
She[Kathleen Turner]was just trying to protect her family, [in the most volatile way unfortunately] but I understood the parental protection.
SideNote:
I just corrected some neighbor kids[whose mothers are prostitutes & have no husbands, but many kids & baby daddies] 2 hours ago about bullying all of our[this includes these bullying kids] neighbors kids in our apartment building, children of today need to understand that bullying & putting hands on other kids because their non confrontational, a different race, have different religious beliefs, sexual preferences etc. is NOT okay & that[my dad taught me this growing up, rest in peace daddy] a soft answer turns away wrath.

" You can't pick your Parents. You're pretty much stuck with what you've got" (Malcolm in the Middle) The first female character I found that could make me wince, like Ouch! Jane Kaczmarek was good in her role. So, *Serial Mom* seems really wacky and lives up to being a black comedy crime, very interesting review!
