A Naples hidden gem I didn't find out about, till years later after buying in a different community is Coconut River Estates.
Its a NON mandatory HOA and boater friendly gulf access community. They do have an HOA but its not mandatory and its only around $550 a year. If you join you get access to the community boat ramp,pool, tennis,pickle ball,yearly events like food trucks,concerts,bbq,and club house.
Even if you don't live in one of the waterfront homes with direct gulf access you can keep your boat at your house and use the community boat ramp. As a boater its unique hidden gem for Naples.
Didn't even know it existed or that an HOA could be optional until someone we knew purchased a home there.

Never liked HOA's. You pay for the priviledge of being ruled by an oligarchy. Good to know one does not necessarily have to deal with that oddball governance structure in FL.
