The holy week is mentioned in 2:14 someone asked about. Comparing the institution of the Passover in Exodus with the gospel accounts years ago, I discovered that there was a special Sabbath in there. John mentions it. That means that another day of the week besides Saturday, the traditional Jewish observance of God resting on the seventh day, was for the feast period observed. No work on ANOTHER DAY OF THE WEEK BESIDES SATURDAY. "Preparation day" was a day before a Sabbath. So some gentile Christians might not have understood that there was another day in there. Thus they have Jesus in the tomb for less than three days and three nights as the Lord had predicted. "Maunday Thursday' probably should have been designated "Maunday Wednesday". I'm not sure even if it should have been 'Maunday Tuesday' , because the night-then-day Jewish way of designating a day is confusing when we try to discuss this and figure it out. The Lord was dead three full days in the tomb. The resurrection appearances on the first day of the week over the next forty days made Sunday a special day for Christians. Sunday, the first day of the week, was when God had said 'let there be light" hmm. SUNday. "light" is symbolic of revelation, truth. "He has brought immortality to light through the gospel." Now I do not claim to know when this account of Adam and Eve was first developed, but it sure seems like it is a Christian writing to me, though it may have B.C. sources way back in time. The exclamatory 'O Adam!' you hear so much reminds me of Arabia and the later Koran. A lot of descendants of Abraham were in Arabia.
