Love this project, I've got a 67 f500 that I've been wanting to do exactly the same thing to. but rebuilding the 330FT engine has kept the progress to a 5 year stand still

Not sure what you have planned here but since your real new to this.... its okay, I mean how exciting can a person make pulling a worn engine out. Still buildable if no cracks in any cylinders or other hiding places. Since it is that old of a block, you might want to deck it say a couple thousandths and get a better head for it. Then again, it it just to stop it from soiling the driveway and only hauls garbage once a month? Thats the case, clean and shine, new cam on a engine that old along with timing parts and pieces. Its not a just bolt them on deal as the angles on throttle body an carburation heads. Intakes don't quite match the angles on the heads and so vacuum leaks. Regardless who made the gaskets, throw the cork or rubber seals for the intake in the trash and use rites tuff silicone on them... set that intake you decide to use on and gently tighten with fingers and then wait for it to set up, then torque down so it does seal and not squeeze inside the lifter cavity or out on the back of the block... places you don't need it, in other words. Its been a while since I have watched your channel but I am subscribed so I ain't helping you much at all with my running my mouth. Take care and will find you in my notifications

Thanks for the advice and for watching! Definitely not a horsepower build, just a refresh. I didn’t use the end gaskets on the intake, but will be sure to not torque the bolts right away.

Seeing you have side engine mounts I would make a crossmember and put engine mount at rear of trans and do away with mounts on clutch housing.

Definitely would like to do that, trans doesn’t have a rear mount though. Thought about adapting my own. I will add that in the next video. Let me know any ideas for doing it

Seeing you’re this far and you want to put a cam in it I would tear it all the way down and do a “poor mans rebuild”. Cut the ridges, deglaze and new rings. Hand polish crank and new bearings. Hand lap valves and install umbrella valve seals. Parts are very inexpensive nowadays. I did this to a 327 forty-five years ago and it gave the engine another good 50 to 60 thousand miles. I prefer just plain cast rings, if available, in used bores, they are very forgiving even if they don’t last quite as long.

Will do a cam for sure, valve seals, hope the deck is flat so i dont have to take it in. Trying to do the minimal amount money wise

i dont know if its just the camera footy but it looks like its leaking compression between 3and 5 and 4 and 6 ..it looks like blow bye on the gasket on camera atleast ..

Next video i will do a closeup of the gasket, honestly didn’t even give them a look yet
