The burden of proof was on the prosecution to prove political or religious aim. Unfortunately the judges had do it themselves when finding the verdict completely ignoring Mickey’s closing statement. Glory said guilty before they even started discussing, Angel kept swaying them further and further with hypotheticals, and not once did any of them acknowledge the closing statement when discussing terrorism.
It was obvious to whom the judges already decided to win the case, Mickey elaborated and explained his arguement and rebuttles outstandingly, even making the case play into his own hands. Like he said, he knew there's a big chance they would lose. And it's just sad to see how the judges literally did not pay attention to Mickey and Angel's closing statements to which it potentially could lead them to victory. He was COOKING! he fits this role well and he showed it the day this happened, other judges just sucks.

They considered the mistrial angle since Max was heavily involved in the investigation even though he was a victim of the crimes CG committed but Mickey felt that the judges wouldnt go for it cause they were on Max’s side and that CG were getting terrorism no matter what the defense argued

Blau’s issue is that he didn’t factor the judges political beliefs, values, n life experience into their decision. Everyone regardless of job orientation will decide their actions n response based on those 3 elements. Blau did not cook, but did ok. He needed to emphasize that a judges role is not meant to interpret the law, but to simply read the law for what it is I.e u.s supreme court justices. Repeatedly emphasize that max became de facto judge, jury, n executioner over n over. Emphasize the 2nd clause over and over, “for political or religious beliefs.” They should have thrown peanut on the stand and continued the training peanuts mom strategy. Brought in their own experts like they should have done, but more; Curtis as sex expert, their own doctor that will take their side I.e amber heard vs. Johnny depp, heard brought in their own doctor supporting her claims. 1st doctor was wishy washy on stand, your own doctor should sound more concrete n precise like depp’s doctor. The reason chat kept saying wrong date was because he could’ve used that to further insinuate that max the mayor is willing to lie n do anything to get his way; especially towards Siobhan. Could’ve insinuate that Siobhan tampered with evidence to further their cause; no police escort n left unattended at the scene. Crime could be tampered with i.e oj vs. people; the cop involved dropped a glove in the backyard of the house (regardless of belief it is in the report). You established that max could be corrupted and the real possibility of it becoming true, they allowed that rabbit hole so use it. (Rebuttal to objection is mayor being judge, jury, executioner) have your partner put you on the stand as a former mayor and you explain all corrupt n illegal things you did. Passing certain laws to be judge, jury, n executioner. Psychological experts showing peanut is truly traumatized. Film a fake vid if you have to. Have someone admit to training peanuts mom, have someone say they witness someone in the council or someone in that room saying they were gonna run a train on peanuts mom & film it for the public to see. The judges reasoning is that gov property was damaged n they haven’t been having meetings since, hindsight Blau should have caught that since max kept saying it. N use that in a way to show max has the power to do anything and will use it to get his way as mayor and de facto judge, jury, & executioner. You emphasize that destruction of government property without a motive does not equate to terrorism. Emphasize that civ was shot so they couldn’t have targeted them for political purposes. So in conclusion, Blau did not cook, he undercook. He’s on copium thinking he did a great job when he did so many things wrong. You watched depp v heard, use it not just watch it. Momma Blau let Blau do his thing to let him learn n boy now did Blau learn. Blau’s last statement was good, but also needed to emphasize that judges job is to not interpret the law, but to simply read the law. Meaning don’t interpret stuff that isn’t there which all 3 judges did. Therefore Blau failed his job as a lawyer. All he can do now is reflect n improve.
