Sell high, buy back later for cheaper. Even taking the tax into account I've made a little over 21k lucent with 1 lucky craft on a supreme devotion cape early on selling for 6500. The litho cost me 900 at the time. The items are only going to get cheaper over time as more and more lucent is fed into the game. There are the very rare drops like Universal band or bloodlust belt that come from mainly the weekly milestone RnG. But over time even 1 week, a lot of items have more than halved in price. Sell what you can now, buy it later. Edit: I started playing on full release, not early access.
heres a secret way of gearing noones talking about that involves no lucent: Self Found Mode. There are pretty good builds you can make with "off -meta" gear that will do well in most content, including mass PVP. I have spent around 200 bucks on the game so far(bought the bundles) and out of all of that lucent I didn't spent a cent gearing. I just went with the maxroll selffound tank build, it's much easier to obtain and you are not competing with big whales for the best gear.
it's sad how the market crashes in just 2 weeks, items are worth virtually nothing now and nothing sells anymore because whales bought out the way too overpriced items and even making lithos is difficult because sure it's let's say 1000 on the market but maybe it's an item no one needs so you just waste your money on rubrix and time and inks..... it's hard without a market history or knowing what item is sought after

Yes, you need to be smart with what you use it on since it's a limited resource. You'll only be able to litho a couple items a month. Honestly, the first example he showed of lithoing a 500 lucent item wasn't the best use of the resources imo.
How much have you made in total so far? Managed to get 1k lucent so far but hardly played due to work :( also a good idea would be to make an alt to farm dungeons to sell shit also
Pricing an item on the auction house based on the price of all items in that category, let’s say pants for example is not a smart idea. Particular blue pants can have a trait that sells for a lot even though for most other blue pants that trait sells for nothing. Some items are difficult to get making the traits on that particular item more valuable due to needing them for initial trait unlocks. Do not follow the advice in the video regarding that, you will lose lucent. Search your particular item all the time every time and post your prices accordingly.
maybe that wasnt even your intentions but your explanation and method of posting is going to lead many people to the wrong idea. hopefully this at least provides some clarity for those who are confused or dont fully understand things.
