Here's an idea for a video: The Best of the Worst. A lot of times when we see Worst of Lists, the same suspects keep coming up over and over again (Shattered Medallion, Seven Ships, et cetera). A lot of the time we're so used to thinking of those games as weak that we don't see when they're not. So, take the 10 Worst Games, and, choosing only from those 10, pick out Best Puzzles, Best Soundtrack, Best Story, Best Moment, or whatever.
I just came here to say that I love these videos! I really enjoy your objective ranking systems, the way you integrate the soundtracks, and of course your personality. Nancy Drew content is always calming to me because of my emotional connection to the games, so I hope you will keep making videos as long as it makes you happy to do so. Stay sleuthy!
One of my favorite puzzles is in Waverly Academy when you have to take everyone's picture and then have to figure out which pictures and majors go where! Love these videos! I know you're doing it on IG but a top 10 favorite food challenges would be a cool video!
Oooh I love all these puzzles! You didn't mention it but I feel like the entirety of Last Train could count as the train itself is one massive puzzle. Also, I have realized that I never finished Message in a Haunted mansion. I'm sure I have played it but I think I only did the first intro stuff. I will hopefully be getting a new computer soon and one of the first things I will be doing is marathoning all the nancy drew games again!
Another great list! I totally agree, the classic ND games tend to have better puzzles when compared to the newer games, which can sometimes feel a little like activity centers, in my opinion. A lot of the puzzles in the newer games can still be fun, but they just aren't as memorable as the classic ones.

Your point about including skills learned by the player is what makes this ranking so high-quality I am fond of the chore-type puzzles because they are simple and make me feel productive, though I agree a game full of them would be boring (Trail of the Twister gets flak for this though I agree with their inclusion because of the context. A teenager would be assigned busywork in any case, so those chores need to be spaced out between more "conclusive" ("synthesizing of information," in your words) puzzles).
The entering the library puzzle for TRT is not only my most core Nancy Drew games memory, but a core childhood memory overall, and when I started replaying the games, it was the thing I most looked forward to. I'd have difficulty choosing which puzzle I think is best overall, purely because I don't track those specifically throughout the games, but I think I agree with another commenter-- if the entire train from TRN counts as one big puzzle, that's my #1. Of the ones you gave perfect scores, I think my personal choice would be the final maze of SHA. The way it integrates into catching the eventual culprit gives it the bump up for me, because it's such a clever solution but also fairly easy to miss that it's even an option.
I'm pretty lucky to have a pretty supportive and understanding community! They know opinions are ultimately just opinions to be shared when it comes to video games 😁

My favorite puzzle believe it or not is making Minette tea in Danger by Design which sadly you only have to do once. I wanted to make more tea! 🫖☕️ lol Making the mint chocolate chip cookies was fun too! More food and drink puzzles, please😀

I'm surprised the doll puzzle from The last train didn't make this list. In my opinion, it's the best puzzle in the series.
