I have the Ozito version of this, which is pretty much the same. What I found with the palm base, is that tightening the knob pulls the whole thing off centre. My cuts were slightly off 90 degrees. It became most noticeable when I started using the guide bushing (which didn’t even fit until I sanded the edges). The router bit is quite evidently off centre and almost touches the side of the guide bushing. I took it back to the store and swapped it with another. When I got home, it had the same issues - guide bushing doesn’t fit until edges are sanded and tightening the knob on the base pulls the base off centre. So I’m of the opinion that the palm base is of poor design & quality. It will not give you perfectly straight cuts. A shame because the main part of the router seems decent.
I discovered the same issue too. Because the aluminium base is slightly loose in compare to the router, it relies solely on the screw that slides into the groove to align it, and that's what makes it slightly 90 degrees when tightened. I suppose changing that screw with a slightly longer one may fix the issue, but that would meant the rubber palm grip has to be removed, which I don't think is a good idea so I gave up.
