This is awesome. One minor complaint, on the original album the intro was just farking fantastic. Bought this when it came out many years ago. That intro is just brilliant.
Didn't know about this song until I recently watched the night house as it was main song that was recurring throughout the movie. I was like what is this? Glad I found out the composer and writer as what a great song. Great version with the extra guitar solos. Truly amazing!!
When you are in the presence of greatness. Respect though. Lad from Dawes steps up. Thompson is other worldly - another level of genius. This is sublime. So great. To have been there... Thanks
I liked how the bassist came around to watch Richard Thompson play. I'll be going to watch him play in August, as long as both of us make it. Can't wait.
When Thompson nods at the other guitar player? I've considered myself a decent musician for a long time - but if RT were to finish playing and nod at me to "go take 32 bars", I'd drop a duke. I'd feel like I was jogging with Usain Bolt.
Poor Richard Thompson. Who ever arranged for one of the greatest guitarists and songwriters ever to have to suffer through a song w these milquetoasts. Gross.

One of the best songwriters and guitarists of the last fifty years. Truly an original. Dawes has great taste and backs him well.
I love how how honestly excited the band is !! And they backed him so well !! Respect !!
I loved when the bass player and guitar player stood together on the side so they could watch RT's playing. What a thrill for them.

I play this after every time I go through something fucked up at work.
“I was under the Calvary Cross” hits me hard as I take a drag.
Richard Thompson is the thinking man's guitar player.
Thinking persons ;)

Great show on the pool deck! Cayamo always does it right, but RT, well he took it to another level! ❤
This song did appear in the movie "The Night House" and I stopped watching right away and searched it on Spotify!!💯👌❤️great song.
The members of Dawes stepped it up. Great version. RT is awesome.
Great to see the RT enjoying the stage with the youngsters. I don’t know if he wanted to, but he looks like he could kick the crap out of them.
Great combination of artists. I love richard thompson.
Great version..
A Dream come true deal

"This is your first day of sorrow". All the lyrics are amazing, the guitar. Memorizing. That though is my favorite line.
You dropped
a S with a Z sound somewhere
This is fun! No- this is awesome!
great post...thx...
They gave him a lot of respect and they kept up and worked it nicely.
playing music with your heroes
wow!
Great to see this from a different angle (side of stage) than the other videos of this.
I can't stomach Dawes normally but this is killer...nailed the vibe; full respect
Thompson is the best UK songwriter since Lennon_McCartney split up. And a fabulous guitar player as well.
This is what I took from this performance. Look at us Richard, why won't you look at usssss.
English guitar player plugs into the very soul of Albion on the high seas! Dustsceawung electric!
My comment is....FUCK YEAH!
He visto este vídeo un centenar de veces, RT no es un guitarrista, es un orfebre de la guitarra, hace encaje de bolillos.
En su estilo, sin perjuicio de los guitarristas de flamenco.
Wow
so dope…..dont step on the old man's toes son
Just hope the audience fully appreciated what they were watching.
Excuse my ignorance but who is Dawes?
A band which backed Richard Thompson once upon a time ?
Richard schooled these kids.
The dude from Dawes did great. RT seemed to think so too. Sorry I slept on this for 4 years.
He did but it owed a lot to RT’s original version

Rich is Better than Neil Young. Yeah, I said it.
I second that--not even close--and I love Neil Young.
+Raelspark Each has a completely unique and amazing guitar style
+Raelspark Michael Jordan is way better than Picasso.
+Ed Van Gasse Perfect comment!
not sure what that means, both are unique and incredible why compare ?
Poor RT having to play along with this
Que de finger-picking entienden algo.
Yikes!
Yikes, again....

How on earth did Dawes get to be on stage with RT? Awful. Dawes is awful, boring in the extreme.
