    This product is absolutely magical, I've seen dramatic changes in my hair since using Olaplex 3.

      Dramatic changes for me too. Try Olaplaex 1 and 2. You can get the "Traveling Stylist Kit" on Amazon or Overstock and it has one bottle of Olaplaex 1 and two bottles of Olaplaex 2. In my last treatment I applied Olaplaex 1 and left it in for 10 minutes and then worked Olaplaex 2 in on top of that and left in for 30 more minutes. I learned that process from olaplex.com. No heat necessary. Fabulous treatment. I usually use just the 2. I have 3 but I don't use it much since I discovered 1 and 2.

    I started using Olaplex no1 and no 2 on relaxer day, adding no 1 to the relaxer as per the instructions on the Olaplex website then no 2 after neutralizing, my stylists says she notices a difference during application. I use no 3, and the rest of the line(shampoo,conditioner and leave in). My last touch up was in January and I had been noticing more shedding. Now that I'm being consistent with using Olaplex for a month now (before I'd use it when I remembered) AND doing rollersets under a hooded dryer and not flat ironing except for the newgrowth if I'm wearing my hair down, I notice less shedding, and my hair feels stronger and its elasticity has improved. Oh and I recommend Redken extreme CAT for a protein treatment, and redken anti snap for a leave in. I've also been using Kerastase Resistance line(shampoo, mssk and serum and I like it)

      What type of hairdryer are you using?. My hairdryer doesn't dry my hair any longer because it's long. Also what type of rollers are you using. I've been using magnetic for years. I think that might be part of the problem. But I need a heavy duty hairdryer. Let me know if you know of one.
      Thanks

    So, honestly, I spent the last 4 weeks depressed cause my overprocessed relaxed earlobe length hair was shedding beyond belief. I decided to try step 1 and 2 Olaplex 2 weeks ago and saw much improvement. Then, a week later, I used the #3 before shampooing. I followed up with Keracare Humecto and have seen a significant improvement. Honestly, I wish I knew about this sooner. Going forward, I will continue to use before each wash, especially in the winter when my hair is super dry and fragile. 😘

      DivaDlux121 Did the Olaplex 3 make your relaxed hair slightly back to normal as in not being as relaxed before using it? I want my hair soft and moisturized after relaxing it, but I’m worried it’ll make my hair slightly un-relaxed after.

    Just had my hair relaxed again after 3 years natural. My stylist added Olaplex No. 1 to the relaxer and used No. 2 during the wash out phase. This stuff is a game changer! I used to relax consistently when I was younger and my hair has never felt this healthy after a relaxer. It's silky and soft and I am just so happy. It was expensive (an additional $60 on top of the relaxer) but I would never do a virgin relaxer again without it. Olaplex is the bomb!

    Hey all! I started using this product due to a TH-cam recommendation/tutorial from another TH-camr. During the pandemic (which we aren’t out of here in the US as of this writing), I decided to go for my “COVID Color” and take my naturally dark, curly hair to platinum blonde. (I know some of you are cringing already.) It took me some time to work up the nerve to finally color my hair-even after extensive research and having purchased all the products. First time turned out great. Second time? I suffered breakage and I noticed when I combed my hair that there were amounts coming out-even as a man with short hair I didn’t want to be bald. No bueno. I stumbled upon a hair bleaching video that touted Olaplex #3. I broke down and bought it. BEST DECISION EVER! My local store only charged $28, but that’s still expensive. My hair is back to being as soft as it was before (even with bleaching-which I’ll stop soon) and when I come my curls through, I’m not seeing lots of hair in the teeth of the comb. I plan to continue to use this product and even told my boyfriend (who likes to use all my stuff) NOT to use this at all since it costs so much. Btw, I usually leave it on for 30 minutes and I follow-up with the Aphogee Reconstructer after shampooing-which I leave on for AT LEAST 10 minutes.

    Love, love, Love Olaplex. It stopped my shedding and breakage with the very first use. Almost no hair in the drain on wash day. No additional split ends (nothing permanently seals already split ends). I was stunned! I use Olaplex, moisturizing shampoo and instant conditioner then Aphogee 2 minute protein. I’m a flat ironed natural and my hair is like “butta”. I get 4 or 5 uses out of the bottle. Olaplex is truly my holy grail product!

    Thank You for this little gem!!! I’ve used O3 twice now and let me tell you, this is the FIRST product I have tried on my hair where I can honestly say, there was a huge noticeable difference with the very first application. I have very weak and damaged relaxed hair, and this product is definitely salvaging the perceived unsalvageable. I know it’s pricey (and trust, I am not happy about that!), But definitely worth it if you have stressed or chemically treated hair that needs some TLC. My only pet peeve is that I can only get my hands on the more potent No.1 and No.2 formula if I go to a salon (which I choose not to do for various reasons). I wouldn’t trust the authenticity of those bottles from Amazon🤷🏾‍♀️

    I was natural for about 7 years until the maintenance needed for a fro of that size just became impractical. I made the decision to relax again but I knew I had to do something different if I didn't want to incur the breakage that inevitably comes with chemical processing. One night I was watching Guy Tang (because oooh pretty colors lol) and I noticed that he RAAAAVED about olaplex in every video. He would bleach the living shit out of some of these girl's heads and somehow they'd always come out the other end of it looking great. I'd never heard of olaplex before so I did a bit of research on what it was and its claims. I really liked the idea that it was a protein rebuilder more than an actual protein treatment but I really did NOT like the pricetag. It's DUMB expensive. Somewhere in the ballpark of $300 expensive. But I was a dog with a bone now and I had to try it for myself. There were fortunately travel sized kits available for sale online which, tho also still dumb expensive, were at a more manageable price point. So I purchased the full kit with all of the steps which was around $70 I think.
    I wanted to start my new relaxed hair journey with the best odds possible and mitigate any damage as best I could right out of the gate. So around July of 2018 I (with the help of my angel of a mother) applied a virgin relaxer treatment. I bought a salon grade mild relaxer off amazon because I didn't wanna go bone straight; I still wanted texture to my hair and the results came out looking more like a texturizer than a straight perm. Which was fine by me. After washing and neutralizing, I did the full olaplex treatment, deep conditioned and flat ironed. My hair had never felt that good. I had virtually zero shedding or breakage throughout conditioning/styling. My strands felt strong and silky soft.
    I'd planned to, and I still do, stretch my relaxers, so olaplex is awesome for reinforcing that line of demarcation, quelling breakage and keeping your ends in tip top shape. It's been the better part of a year since I applied the virgin relaxer and my hair is at a nice full midback length now when flatironed (I'm shooting for tailbone length) and for the first time in my hair journey I feel that my goal length might actually be reached in the next year or so.
    So yes, it's pricey af. But it really does work wonders so I consider it $ well spent. If you already have good Black hair care practices, olaplex is literally the cheat code for relaxed hair. I'd encourage anyone to save your pennies and invest in the full system, you won't regret it. 🖤
    Pro Tip: Don't use this treatment with high heat a la a heating cap or steamer, high heat actually degrades the protein bonding process and makes it less effective, all you need to do is make sure that you thoroughly work each step's product through your strands and don't shortcut on the times for each product given in the directions (exceeding the suggested times is a good thing in this case as it actually allows the product more time to work). Also, there's no need to be heavy handed with the product, a little goes a long way! I get about 4-5 applications out of the travel sized kit and I have a LOT of hair.

    • @liamsmith3290
      @liamsmith3290 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always thought that you needed some heat to open the hair cuticle, so that the product can be absorbed?Not disagreeing with OliveSaysLove, but I known when you heat protein in your food supply that theory is true. You will kill some of the nutrients (I don't know about you but I'm not eating a cow when it 'mooing' so it's gonna be damn near burnt, so I'm okay with less nutrients in my protein), but in the case as it applies to protein for the hair - Dunno?? (*scratches head*). Dom, this sounds like a question for Gloria?

    • @louisedgar8949

      Olaplex 1 is the main treatment olaplex 3 is just a maintenance for olaplex 1. Like when you have a keratin treatment you have a mask that maintains the keratin till it fades away. The difference here is that Olaplex is not a protein but focus on the hair bonds.

      Corine, no need to do anymore treatments for a while. That can lead to protein overload. Once the disulfide bonds in the hair has been restored, anything more will cause the strands to break. Wait for a few months then re-introduce (and only if your hair needs it!). It is much harder to recover from protein overload than it is moisture overload.

      Just make you to use a deep conditioner and leave it in for at least 15-30 after. Don't just slap some deep conditioner on your head, comb it through and wash it out 5 minutes later...make sure it get into the follicles by applying heat (whether with a hooded dryer or steamer or intense body heat). Protein damage is devastating!

      S A Yeah sure . I have high porosity hair type so need that protein boost. I use their Phytokératine Extréme Exceptional Mask, this tends to stop shedding for me in an instant and makes my hair feel super soft and very lightweight.
      They have a pre poo too that I alternate for ultra dry hair called PhytoElixir.
      To ensure my hair stays moisturised after styling and on a daily I used either Phyto 7 or Phyto 9 depending on how dry my hair feels. I deal with their Baobab oil, which gives great sheen as well as locking in the moisture without making the hair look greasy and leaves that flow and movement.
      When I feel my hair is overrun with product build up I use their detox shampoo but I also use their one for coloured hair as I dye mine to cover my pesky greys.
      Hope that helps any.
      Best of luck on your hair care journey.

    I think Olaplex is a protein treatment with added moisturizers like the oils, if it repairs the di-sulphur bonds of the hair. I wouldnt add anymore, too soon.

    • @bbappzz98
      @bbappzz98 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not a protein treatment. You should watch labmuffin's video on olaplex, she has a PhD im chemistry and she breaks down the science behind it. It does not add protein to the hair but it uses a chemical that can penetrate your hair follicle to link disulfide bonds back together (bleaching and relaxing breaks and weakens your disulfide bonds). Her video explains it much better than me.

It is really good for relaxed hair!!! I use it once a week. I use it because I don't want to use a heavy protein treatment. Because, my hair isn't damaged or weak from using chemicals. Thank you for this video. What does Olaplex smell like? I've been hearing a lot about Olaplex 3 but never really understood what the heck it is. Now I know! I first have to say I've been watching your videos for roughly 6 months. Because if your tips and tricks I was able to grow my pixie cut neck length which is a major accomplishment. My hair never grew past my ears in almost 10 years! I did however suffer a major setback and lost most of my edges and nape last month so I had to start over. I believe it was due to stress. So I went on TH-cam and came across the rice water challenge. I've done it twice so far and I'm having excellent results in hair growth. Maybe I'll invest in Olaplex once I get back to neck length.

Well, my 2 staples that helped me recover is the TGIN Honey mask for my deep conditions and the nexus polymedic emergency reconstructor (its a protein treatment but NOT the cause of the 'original' protein overload set), + a proper trim! Also ladies, a roller set can be you friend (I swear! she can be just as cute as a 'flat iron'). This is my routine and my hair is bouncy and healthy.
