Trains from the late 1980s on Colorado's Front Range, mostly operating over the storied Denver-Pueblo Joint Line, haul a variety of freight with motive power from this classic era. Denver & Rio Grande Western SD40T-2 tunnel motors, BN and Santa Fe SD40-2 and C30-7 freight diesels, and the Ringling Bros. circus train with SPSF power, conquer the rigorous climb over the mountainous Palmer Divide. Leased B39-8 units from LMX are brand new and look sharp hauling coal and other freight for Burlington Northern.

Lived in Colorado Springs and watched the JL since ‘07, when I was 4. I wish I was living here in the late ‘80s. Different times, high school would have been different, and of course the trains would have been different. This video is really special to me.

I was only 5 years old back in '05 when I saw the Ringling Bros. circus. Never got to saw the train, but it was one of the best years of my life.

Lived in Monument and now Palmer Lake since 1990. Remember all these scenes too well, and miss them. One thing I noticed. No graffiti.

I have never seen a circus train like the one here before. Kind of surprised big animals like elephants can fit in those cars.
