Which means that Mark’s death is Cesar’s fault, and now Cesar is being hunted by the creature that killed Mark, and assumingely being tortured and taunted about Mark’s death being his fault.

My theory: so How this went down is, Cesar calls mark because his mother ACTUALLY gets caught by the alternate, And Cesar talks to mark in the car before driving off. Mark agrees to go to his house and does so, but after he sets up the camera’s the alternate finds him and kills him. Cesar tries to call mark while he’s in the hospital with his mom, but he’s not picking up. Cesar decides to drive back and check on him to find out if he’s ok, but unfortunately, mark doesn’t seem too alright. Cesar hides in his room and thus, Encounter Swapped starts.
