I met Scarub once, he did a show in my hometown with Very from Afro Classics and I was super hyped he was coming. Before the show I caught him behind the club he was performing at, I was so nervous to go up and talk to him but I did and he was so down to earth, so humble. I told him he was the reason I got into underground hip hop, The Fact of The Matter changed my life, I ever asked him about a song on there that meant a lot to me and he explained it to me which meant the world. After our convo he performed an amazing show. Then after that I saw him chilling by himself with a glass of wine and was surprised no one was bugging him, so I had to be that guy 😂🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ but he was cool and we hung out and I bought him some drinks, he even bought me one. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. To have a night with a man that changed everything for me. By the end of the night he took me back to his car and Very popped the trunk and they had some merch, I bought whatever I could with the money I had left lol. And he gave me a signed vinyl of A New Perspective for free. The both thanks me. Very was a cool ass dude too. After that night I was so thankful to meet a Legend but to actually stay in touch with him after that. These artists not only make great music but actually care about their fans and have no ego to get in between. Much Love to Scarub and Very, and thanks Steebee you really are. true head and I think that’s so damn cool. LEGENDS!
