  • 2-night stay in Sapporo Hokkaido for the Snow Festival, we also Ski’d at nearby Mt. Moiwa Mountain in Sapporo.
We got to Sapporo by taking a bus and Train to Haneda Airport then Flew 1.5 hours to Chitose Airport and took the 45minute Train into Sapporo.
To get to Mt. Moiwa Ski Mountain (Snowboards not allowed) we took the train 20-min to Makomanai Station, there we got on a 20-min bus that took us right to Mt. Moiwa. Call ahead for bus schedule seems to run quite infrequently.
5-hour Ski Rentals were \3,000 for the kids and \4,500 for the adults, and 5-hour Lift Tickets were \3500 Adult and \2900 per child.
Food was good and reasonable. I think a big bowl or ramen was \900,
I felt the trails were harder than most mountains with a lot of advanced skiing and not too much intermediate skiing, but we had a lot of fun and there was some good beginner skiing.

Thanks for sharing! Indeed freedom is at the door when your kids are getting more independent. Next thing ya know, they more than independent, they out the door. Then you would miss them so dearly. Enjoyed the chilled commentary am looking forward to visit in December.

Looks like all sorts of winter fun. I grew up in Wisconsin and curling is a big deal. It involves strategy for getting your rock on the center circle and knocking the opponent's rock out. It also serves as a diversion during long cold winters.
