You don't need to justify your content to your fans. You can make the seemingly uninteresting....interesting. I love your attention to detail and how well you educate your audience. Keep it up, we love all your content.
Why would someone hate your channel ? You give a great description of everything and you do your videos from the actual downloading from the site all the way to using it and proving if its actually worth the money. You do an awesome job and more people should learn a thing or two from you.
I think this plugin would shine even more in a multichannel/immersive situation. Triggering "particles" movements in a 360 environment by dynamic changes is an interesting idea.
using a broadcast and multimedia production DAW like Nuendo would allow direct integration with videogame engines and audio middleware, allowing sound processing to be dynamically triggered by interactive events... this could be really cool in VR.
I love Energy Panner! Also, I've noticed that your intro music sounds better and better with each video. The sub bass is more "glued" to the mix than it used to be in, say, your 2019 videos.
Took about 8 minutes for me to feel like I may be able to use this plugin. The panning stuff would work really well in some ambient music or maybe some cinematic. I think I'm in the same boat as you as far as using it for width control. Could come in handy for that. Just be sure to keep an analyzer open to make sure you aren't going too far.
It’s automatic movement within the panning, without you having to make the automation movement within the DAW parameter controls, saves a massive amount of time, or a better way to say it allows creativity relatively fast so it does not eat up your time
I think these would work well on a single instrument, like an arpeggiator or similar moving instrument in the background. This could add dynamic movement to a track that might feel more 'natural' than using static pan automation.
Sound particles do incredible plugins for sound design, especially everything spacial. I can see using these for music production too, but oh boy how these can make foley and sound effect work much easier and creative.
If you are in production stage maybe a great choice, for creating movement (like opening a filter) for synths, guitar and some fx. seems nice and original
Awww man. This was on sale on the boutique last time I checked. I had it in my cart a few days ago but seems that I forgot about actually going in and buying it. RIP.
I'm playing around with this. When u suggested it could get wider when it gets louder (or inverted) though... I thought: that seems very easy to diy in Ableton suite (using envelope follower)
It would be cool if you could add the plugin names in the title of your reviews. I was sure the other day that I saw a review of a specific plugin and couldn't find it, because of the video title.
@@jocke1972 bruv u r not gonna make a hit using a panning tool. it doesnt matter too much in terms of panning stereo. pancake2 would be enough for anyone wanna do funky automated panning stuffs.
Hmm ... I think this thing is more suited to be on an aux track with another effect before it. for example, have a delay run into it, and now the delayed signal will shift around depending on the brightness (which you could control by the EQ that is in most delay plugins, OR by the *send amount!*). But definitely I would use this on individual tracks, rather than a group bus or like you did here.
Really interesting! Not that often seeing plugins for panning and postioning so thanks a lot! Anyhow nice for maybe Pop or Vocals, Movies? ... expecting at Clubmusic it will maybe even be contraproductive, cause you mostly do not want to happen to much panning stuff there. Thanks and best regards!
I would be interested if you could work out the MIDI function in this Brightness Panner... I have tried and tried., but still have no IDEA how to activate it at all?
This thing would be amazing to create dynamic panning in Sends... delays, Rvbs, flangers... that my friend is where u can get creative and not very intrusive in others productions!
This to me it's just Sennheiser AMBEO Orbit plugin with Mid/Side capbility and built in Automation. Cool plugin though. Maybe you should review the AMBEO Orbit next, it's also a panner plugin and it's free.
oh silly me! I bought it this morning without even checking if there was snake oil video about it! but I can rest assured and hopefully really use it once ;)
Flawless interface doesn’t make a good plugin, but usability does. I don’t know where I would use dynamic width. And if I wanted that, I would build it in Kilohearts snap heap/multipass or Unfiltered Audio triad in seconds. And those plugins give me almost everything else too.
It seems very interesting to use with synths/atmospheres. since most have movement themselves , adding this plugin to create movements besides the sound it self seems interesting. Also applying it to sound effects ou movie scores should make some weird stuff.
Wytse, I wonder if you ever re-watch your videos once on TH-cam to see if the audio in your DAW is as you hear it _after_ TH-cam compression. You've mentioned it before in other videos, "maybe you can't hear it now that it's on TH-cam." I wonder if you've ever checked that out for yourself and if you saw a difference. Love the videos!
Yes, I do always check my video's on youtube, but it's always too late if the codec is masking... There is also the balance for me, I really want to share certain stories of which I know are difficult to hear through the codec, but sometimes, its more value-able to share them still.
It's intresting... something I would have to try myself to have a opion becuase I'm seeing it would be great as a expressive tool in creation... would be really fun with orchestral productions with lots of sound design in them
a curious hybrid between multiband stereo imager, autopanner and dynamics processing I never imagined but seems very useful for soundscape design. would save me a lot of time spreading individual frequency ranges on individual channels and make for some intriguing motion rather then fixed multiband frequency ranges. definitely a lot of potential for production. have you checked out the rotor plugin by audiothing and hainbach? it's a neat retake on a piece of old bbc radio lab femininity. maybe not really your wheelhouse since it wouldn't really have any use in mixing or mastering, but has a lot of cool possibilities for production effects (and the historical aspect is really fascinating). it's been on sale lately, I picked it up for 9usd after watching the vids about its origins and conception, but haven't played with it yet (studio not currently set up) and would be curious to see it reviewed.
Lol exactly. In every video I am always wondering about the ID or IDs 😀 sorry for b#tching wytse but as I hear about IDs pretty often during work day this makes me always laugh 😄
Can this plugin do stuff I cannot do with simple automation? No. Can this plugin be a shortcut so I don't get confused with dozens of points on dozens of colored lines? Yes.
Nice review. Yess! hornet. I love the idea behind their plugins and I use their VU meter and LU meter on all my mixes to help with gain compensation. I think this type of algorithm built into more plugins and DAWs is the future of music and I'm really surprised that in 2021 hornet are the only company doing this. But if I have to be honest their website is a mess and there is no reason why they have so many plugins, all of them can be combined into 1. Maybe if you critique them they will listen and hopefully there will he more options other than hornet in the future. and I'm praying it would be built in into DAWs
Hornet Plugins will get funny, because you never know if it will work even for the paid ones or crash your DAW... Guys are even complainging on the original hornet website but the guy there seems to have its own like Centimeters per Minute... anyhow "total eq" sounds quite cool, has still nasty GUI bugs... you see on his site: "Made in Italy!" ...thats Hornet... lol nice but not perfect
That panned out rather well!
Pantastic 🌴🍍🍍✨✨✨✨
I just want a panning plugin called Peter Pan. It doesn't even have to be good.
lol
😆😆😆😆
Gotta develop it right away

I love these plugins, amazing for creative delays and reverb, really impressed, have a great day, all the best.

BOZ Pan knob is much simpler and has two features which makes night and day difference in panning.
Fabulous plugins for certain musicians!!!
I would use it as a side chain or like a ducking tool. Like as guitars get louder other instruments get wider or the other way around. Great Vid
really good idea
More Analog obsession videos please 🎉🎉

It's so nice to see genuinely new and innovative effects coming along. It felt like everything was just a new reverb for the last decade or so...
Waves Brauer Motion is similar to this. But it's true that everyone makes compressors when they don't have other ideas. 😄
Note that in Australia “rooting” is to play hide the sausage with your loved one. Just FYI 😂
I think these would work well on a single instrument, like an arpeggiator or similar moving instrument in the background. This could add dynamic movement to a track that might feel more 'natural' than using static pan automation.
Sound design (film) seems like a good domain for this plug.
Great laughs in your review. Made my morning.
if you look on the website, this company is showing off all the many films that use their plugins
Sound particles do incredible plugins for sound design, especially everything spacial. I can see using these for music production too, but oh boy how these can make foley and sound effect work much easier and creative.
Yes, use for dynamic width on whole mixes, but would really come into their own on individual sounds...

So last one was a fader plugin and now a panner plugin.
The next one should then be a mute/solo plugin.
and then the lastone will be the 'close DAW' plugin
that mode where it keeps going on from its last position might be interesting to people with modular synths like richard devine
cableguys have a panning plugin for long now. Also panman by soundtoys.
But none of them work in this way (i.e. dynamic). Waves Brauer motion would be closer.

A video on Audiothing? maybe?
buster se is the analog obsession plugin to try next imo. or the console emulation stuff... or the ssq eq...
Are there any other plugins like this that allow panning by pitch?
Similar to a modular synth patch: Envelope Follower control of VCA
I can see this as very useful for sound design mixing and on sep tracks, but not so much on the master in my opin.
If you are doing Hornet plugins do the gain staging ones. Setting tracks to -18dB on their own is proper handy!

it sounds better when you split the music into stems and apply the effect on one or two stems.
Wider and Ambeo in addition. But how does it sound, when you're at a mono console?
