Pretty pathetic Justin Moore didn’t receive an invite. The guys been a mainstay in country music for close to a decade. Especially having a song “The Ones Who Didn’t Make It Back Home” and he could’ve performed on Veterans Day! Come on CMAs, unbelievable.

After hearing on his podcast that he doesn’t even have a guitar at home because he doesn’t like “bringing work home”, I pretty much lost any respect I had for the guy. Especially after hearing what I think might be the worst song on the radio this year, “That’s Why We Drink”. Guy’s in it for the money, nothing more.

    • @brandonk2560

@@nicholaspalacio9672 I can definitely see your point. I’m not a diehard fan or anything, but I would rather listen to Justin Moore than 75% of what’s on mainstream radio and that’s why I was a little bothered. Would’ve liked to see him there than most.
Also had no idea about the podcast story, I don’t like the sound of that. But Justin’s also one of Those guys I’ll listen to just to listen, I’ll never dig deep into his background or follow his every move. If one of my favorites said that, I would definitely be upset.

Hot take: What has Carrie Underwood done in 2020 and 2019 to win Entertainer of the Year? Carrie's incredible, but hasn't been in an album cycle since 2018, only has one new song on the radio, and isn't really doing anything culturally relevant besides singing the SNF theme song. I feel like Maren, Miranda, and Blake have been doing waaayyy more to deserve it recently. What am I missing?

Carrie had a huge sold out tour all of last year. Her and Eric arguably had the 2 biggest tours in all of country music. SNF, and hosted the CMA last year for the 12th time, her Calia clothing line, then earlier this year she debuted her fitness app and became a New York Times bestselling author, so she’s has definitely been busy and out there in multiple different ways.

Country music is still country music and it has always been everybody does their own music with their own sound what you’re hearing nowadays is country pop it’s a sub genre of country music. hear me out on this, I’m a city guy and I know what country music is of course suppose to have and what it’s suppose to be which are a steel guitar, fiddle, or simply just an original wooden guitar and it’s story telling but it doesn’t always have to be that way it can also be fun upbeat music with meaning and it can be positive like how Kenny Chesney does his music.

I actually dont hate the recognition The Bones got here.
No, its not exactly a country song, but it is a good song with more thematic depth than most that come out these days.

    • @cassidymorgan608

Not to cause a problem but the bones is boring thematically and repetitive musically. It’s one of the worst listens on modern country radio and just makes the poor quality Nashville promotes even more obvious.

This is the last time I mention this on your social. But man. The lack of mention for Prine and Shaver is absolutely inexcusable. No Justin Townes Earle either. Somebody in the organization has to speak up about that, it can’t be forgotten. That award show is more Hollywood than lip filler and the Kardashisns put together. 10% of the people invited there write real country music. It’s so sad to see, it really is. Guy Clark, Townes, Waylon, Cash, Kristofferson, these guys would be so heartbroken to see what has become of the genre they helped make. Absolutely brutal. Eric Church winning any sort of award in the same year Isbell releases a record makes you rethink some things.

The show gets an A+++++. Best show ever!
Because Eric finally got the recognition he deserves! LOL
All jokes aside, I agree it was a little bland. I kind of switched back and forth. But, man, that last award changed everything. Eric was robbed two years in a row. Anyone who saw his "Holdin' My Own" or "Double Down" tour knows exactly what I'm talking about. Garth who? Yeah, he's a legend, but I've seen him live and he does the same show every time. He barely even plays any new stuff. Nobody beats Eric when it comes to live shows. Keith Urban is pretty awesome, but he's won the award twice. Eric was due.

Loved that Eric Church won and appreciated his seemingly honest speech. My overall grade would be less generous than your B-, more like C-.
