This song has always been my favourite Christmas song. It also reminds me of when I lost my friend Dan back in 2002 who was only 18. To this day, I can't help but shed a tear each time I hear it. This is the most moving and beautiful rendition I've heard. Thanks for sharing.

I awoke with my brain singing "Don't Pay the Ferryman". Haven't thought about him in 20 years. Why now? Then, I had to hear this song from yesteryear. Mr. de Burgh has a marvelous, very recognizable tenor. Just beautiful with the strings and choir.

Just came across this, and reminiscing about the concert my wife and I had last night, seeing him live for the first time... Wonderful evening with all the songs I remember from decades ago, when starting out playing guitar, singing and gigging from the late 60's....Yes, this is a really memorable version of 'Space Man'.... and in biblically, a most appropriate setting.... Well remember in 2004-2005, singing this while gigging to raise funds for Live Aid and Ethiopia.... this and last night's concert brought in all back to me what a wonderful musician and song craftsman and how spiritually aware he is... Lke many singers, he's had drop the key on 'Spaceman' a few tones.. but is some ways, to me sounds all the better... as it did last night.... !!

If we'd just learn that Love Is The Message and that ALL of God's creatures under our Sun are meant to be here, can teach us much and are deserving of love and respect. Jack Cheng, during late 70s thru 90's , HK radio used to air a lot of western pop songs, and that 's how our young ones got familiar with all these songs, including a handful of popstars like Chris de Burgh......For past decade, these generations have very limited exposure with western music..etc, .or unless they learn to know from youtube....it is sad as we face the fact that almost nobody knows these singers/songs in this modern era...
