Thanks to those of you for posting some of the lyrics! I've loved this "song" since I bought the CD many, many years ago...but never looked into the lyrics. Now I can sing along with confidence! This is by far my favorite song on the CD!
Had the pleasure of seeing them three times over the last month , including the final tour stop at the Metro . Phenominal live band ! The shows at both the Canopy Club and at the Metro saw them play Pack Up The Cats in it's entirety . If you haven't heard PUTC ...there's three songs on it that i dub the "trifecta" of rock . Hit the Skids-500,000 Scovilles-What Can I Tell You .Check it out .
Well, Joe Daniels was on Pack Up the Cats...one of my favorite Local H albums. Then again, Brian St. Clair was on Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles? so I'd say they're about even in my books.
This incarnation of Local H, fucking rocked man. I still cannot believe how underrated this album is. Joe Daniels was a freaking awesome drummer, he has a style a lot like Dave Grohl, and the dynamic combination of a white guy and a black guy made Local H awesome.
the guy has a guitar with a bass magnet but i'd like to see them full band 2 guitars bass and drums.god damn i love 90's.i wish i could bring back time
@ChubbehBubblez i agree, as a long time fan of the band i have turned atleast 75% of my friends over the years into fans of local h. it amazes me people dont recognize them more.
@ChubbehBubblez Well, at least you're lucky to hear Bound for the Floor" on the radio(what kind of radio...To this day, I still wonder why it wasn't a hit in France, or why their record company didn't "work" local H more."Floor" didn't get radio or TV airplay here (I don't know for other european countries) and whenever I play it to friends, even now, they go "wow...this is a hit, great song" etc.. They could have made it with more support(they played 1 TV show and 1 show here. Period).
Great music is abound!! Sadly your local radio station probably won't be playing any of it. Hit up satellite radio, at least you can hear a variety of songs from a variety of musical styles. Local H kicks ass too, how many other 2 man bands do you know?
Dude the black guy is one of the best drummers out,i seen them play live and he is phenominal. Both drummers are awesome, the black guy brought more intensity thou.Black Rage!,lol.
@DX4LIFFE I agree. It sounds like the guitar, bass, and drums of Smash melded with the satirical lyrics of Americana. Bet the Offspring were inspired by this kind of stuff when they wrote pretty fly for a white guy.
Great band who got the shaft due to record company Merger. Like Weezer's Pinkerton, Pack up the cats was the most underated CD of the 90's This might sound crazy but if Dave and Krist of Nirvana ever wanted to pull off a Nirvana reunion like Queen did w/Paul Rodgers..This is the one guy i think can do it! nyone agree??
90's Albums I just press play on Local H: As Good As Dead, Live: Throwing Copper,Smashing Pumpkins: Siamese Dream, Pearl Jam: Ten, Nirvana: Unplugged, Collective Soul: self-titled, Stone Temple Pilots: Purple, Metallica: Black Album, G'n'R: Use Your Illusion 1&2, Weezer: Blue Album, Rancid: Out Come The Wolves, Fifteen: Lucky, Voo Doo Glow Skulls: Band Geek Mafia, NIN: Fragile, Meatloaf: BOH: Back Into Hell, NoFx: White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean, REM: Monster, and everything Sublime
"Grunge" is a form of punk rock that became big from bands that where mainly settled in the north west of America. It is a form of punk in that it is considered "easy to play" normaly being 3-5 riffs repeated over the whole song. Nirvana played on a E based guitar (cant remember if it was flat or not) making it a pinch more easy for Kurt to play lefty on a right handed guitar......... Grunge bands of the 90's where called that based more on the look of the band then the sound.
@IronSaucer some people don't know what grunge is. Thats why. I just call this post-nirvana, but I love Local-H, but I think you can kinda see my reasoning for the name =)
i got a white t-shirt and wrote local h in the front and high fiving mother fucker on the back.... no one even knew who they where it was sad....but got alot of attention hopefully more fans
Personally I think Gavin Rossdale (formerly of Bush) sounds more like Kurt than anyone else, but I don't think I'd want to see Nirvana come back with anyone else. It wouldn't be the same without Kurt.
To clear things up: This "sounds like Nirvana" because it's fucking grunge. This "doesn't sound like Nirvana" because it's fucking Local H. It's good regardless. Everyone stop fighting and enjoy it already.
lol screamerjoe? you wouldn't happen to be from chicago would you? i go to local h shows all of the time and he never fails to put on a show (musically or otherwise) if you were there in chicago i probably was too.
@jweipert Ummm.....well, there's the White Stripes, then you have the Black Keys. I know of one from booneyville, tx called Vaste Burai....they're heavy as fuck. That's all I can think of. So, 3. I know of 3 other two-man bands.
dude nirvana didnt sound like this after Bleach, Kurt died long ago, yes they invented the sound, tho this doesnt grant them domain over it. Many bands resemble Nirvanas sound, ever heard of Earshot?
While i would agree there, as anyone who has read the book "come as you are" could glean. But then again, how many people outside of Seattle have heard of the melvins. most people would auto-credit Nirvana for the sound simply cuz they didnt know that Kurt listened to the Melvins and Mookie Blaylock and the meat puppets, Etc. The melvins didnt take it to the level these guys did either, because, in my opinion, they were not nearly as talented. Dave Grohl had more talent alone.
To be honest, I like the live recordings of Local H covering Nirvana more than Nirvana doing it...but that's just me....uhm, on a side note I don't think Gavin sounds much like Kurt at all, and the guy from Puddle of Mudd sucks. >.>
Whats wrong with people calling thins grunge?? why do people make so much trouble, i mean come on, there are lots of peaple that don't even have a fucking house, and we are fighting about a stupid name, what does it even matter... i mean i think it is easyer, i mean rock is a huge word, guns 'n' roses is rock to, but it is different... very different... i really don't get the point of this uselessfighting, you want to make a change go to haitti and help the people rebuld there houses...
i have seen local h a few times and it gets better every time, been listening to them since the 90's
Thanks to those of you for posting some of the lyrics! I've loved this "song" since I bought the CD many, many years ago...but never looked into the lyrics. Now I can sing along with confidence! This is by far my favorite song on the CD!
I saw 'em there too. They rocked it HARD that day. Opened with this, actually. I've been listening to Local H nonstop since Saturday.
I love that their drummer has such a regular kit, and he plays it so fucking well.
They are still touring in the midwest. They have a show in Chicago this weekend.
Had the pleasure of seeing them three times over the last month , including the final tour stop at the Metro . Phenominal live band ! This song is such a cool intro...the video fits it perfectly
I love this song like crazy.
Local H at the Peppermint Beach Club for $5 and we picked the set. Riddle of Steel opened up. Best show I've EVER seen.
Guitar & drum...Gotta luv it.
love the distortion!
..and great lyrics btw!
Well, Joe Daniels was on Pack Up the Cats...one of my favorite Local H albums. Then again, Brian St. Clair was on Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles? so I'd say they're about even in my books.
I bet you even named your........grand prize....... monster truck. best lyric EVER!
one of the greatest rock songs ever!!
lmfao i remember when i first heard this on an internet radio station, i laughed so damn hard
This incarnation of Local H, fucking rocked man. I still cannot believe how underrated this album is. Joe Daniels was a freaking awesome drummer, he has a style a lot like Dave Grohl, and the dynamic combination of a white guy and a black guy made Local H awesome.
one badass song
the guy has a guitar with a bass magnet but i'd like to see them full band 2 guitars bass and drums.god damn i love 90's.i wish i could bring back time
@ChubbehBubblez i agree, as a long time fan of the band i have turned atleast 75% of my friends over the years into fans of local h. it amazes me people dont recognize them more.
@MyJunior1975 #2 and #3. "Ham Fisted" was their first album

Awesome song used to listen to this one over and over again. Too bad these guys got lost in the alternative music craze they should've been bigger.
cant wait for there new cd
this song is so awesome, along with its really random ending... hahaha.
my dad went to high school with these guys
Scott sounds so much like Dexter Holland from the Offspring.
I'm Loving It.....H.
this band is so fucking awsome
Met Grohl when he was someone and he is cool. Met these guys before they were cool and they were just as cool.
I l o v e this song
Great music is abound!! Sadly your local radio station probably won't be playing any of it. Hit up satellite radio, at least you can hear a variety of songs from a variety of musical styles. Local H kicks ass too, how many other 2 man bands do you know?
In parts of this song I thought that too.
Most bands don't know how to rock like these guys.

i first heard this song live at poinfest 2 last year, it was so dam annoying. but then it grew on me and all of my friends. dam what a great band

Dude the black guy is one of the best drummers out,i seen them play live and he is phenominal. Both drummers are awesome, the black guy brought more intensity thou.Black Rage!,lol.

this song makes me think of The Todd from Scrubs...or The Todd makes me think of this song...
Local H is fucking amazing. One of my favorite bands
Hold on, I've got it! They sound just like that band "Local H"!

Are there any other bands with this type of sound?? or a similar song?
hell yeah! good call

Lol I love Local H.
scottt would probably hate this, but I think Kurt and Him are soul brothers, the similiarites are just uncanny.
he could replace him
He's eating the mic...
@IronSaucer some people don't know what grunge is. Thats why. I just call this post-nirvana, but I love Local-H, but I think you can kinda see my reasoning for the name =)

Joe Daniels rips
@kurvana88 They ,and I , are from Chicago. I guess that's why alot of people have'nt heard of them .
@wesjoe311 , I'm a bit confused and want to stay that way . Thank you and good by.
The funny thing about this song is that it makes fun of the very same head bangers who like it. :) if you like this, check out Fritz's Corner.
Personally I think Gavin Rossdale (formerly of Bush) sounds more like Kurt than anyone else, but I don't think I'd want to see Nirvana come back with anyone else. It wouldn't be the same without Kurt.
Actually, The Melvins created this sound. The Melvins rock. So does Local H.
Holy shitballs, is he wearing a Pentagram shirt?
same here!
To clear things up:
This "sounds like Nirvana" because it's fucking grunge.
What does this have to do with Local H?
and not a signle bassplayer was given.
@AdioZeroTensorSK8 , WELL !
Haha but you gotta love the Toddster. He's an ass but I don't think he warrents the amount of contempt this song is directing at someone.
@kurvana88
Dude check out their live at the metro manifest destiny part 2. That is some serious shit.
@jweipert Ummm.....well, there's the White Stripes, then you have the Black Keys. I know of one from booneyville, tx called Vaste Burai....they're heavy as fuck. That's all I can think of. So, 3. I know of 3 other two-man bands.

not knowing the fuckin shit is a good thing is not the fucking shit
While i would agree there, as anyone who has read the book "come as you are" could glean.

I was thought they were awesome, and always will be. They shoulda been even greater then they were, but big whigs suck.
Loved Bush...but we've got to teach ya how to spell "Glycerine" correctly
@TeenCretin Obvious troll is obvious.
