The problem with cortisone shots - Part 2

- If you have early arthritis in your knee, hip, shoulder or another joint in your body, a cortisone shot might not be a great treatment option. A 2017 study showed that steroid injections into a joint every 3 months resulted in significantly more cartilage loss in the joint than did injections of saline - a placebo. That's a significant risk, or downside, to cortisone shots. But even worse - they might not help much at all. A 2022 study showed that recurrent intra-articular steroid injections provide no better - or even worse - symptom relief compared with other injections, including placebo injections, at 3 months and beyond. If you are young and active with early arthritis, you might want to consider options other than cortisone shots.

What other options ??
What other options that don’t include joint replacement nor fusion
I had steroid injection in my left knee last December 2019 and didn't feel any pain until around 2022. I was 19 when I got that injection and I don't know if that was a safe thing
I keep reading a number of Docs say one or two shots maximum won't hurt the joint.
But repeated shots obviously aren't good.
I hate steroids alot of side effects even on us ladies
My ortho Doc told me that cortisone in the hip joint stays within the area and doesn't migrate out.
I think it depends upon how skilled that doc was that you got the shot from (did they make the mark) and the particular part of the body that's injected.
I got this injection today and many of my question weren’t answered,,, my hurts worse as I go downstairs then if I went upstairs and I wonder why?
I had my first one yesterday and now tonight my shoulder hurts worse.
How is it now?
I've read other ppl saying that same thing.
I am reading some other ppl say it hasn't helped but it's not worse either.
I have to think it depends how skilled the Doc was that gave that injection, & the patient. Everyone is different.
Can u plz give me the other options 😮
