I have the Lenovo slim 7 pro x and I'm pretty happy with it. The only reason I am tempted on upgrading is the battery life on this thing since the display and keyboard layout is exactly the same.
After experiencing a haptic touchpad, I believe every laptop above a certain price point (say 1000 USD / EUR) should have one. There is no excuse to not have them, especially not for manufacturers like Lenovo, Dell, HP and ASUS. Diving board trackpads are so inefficient, I noticed this after using haptics. Wherever my finger rests I can perform any click operation. I'm definitely not a MacOS person but their hardware is way ahead. Plus, haptic touchpads are a matter of sourcing them from (pre)existing sources. They all already own haptic trackpads for their other laptops so I don't see the problem at all. Not to mention these Yogas have this strange rattle to the trackpad, it's horrible.
This would be one of the best laptops for grunt analysts and accountants in business. Too bad most companies have a business contract with OEMs for Dell Latitudes 7###, Lenovo Thinkpads T14 G#, HP EliteBooks 840 G#, or M# MacBook Airs.
The first 3 laptops I understand but I have yet to see an analyst or accountant in a corporate setting use a MacBook Air. Is that common where you are?
@adequatequality Only for tech startups with tons of VC funding or FAANG companies will you find analysts using a Macbook Air. 99% of places will use the business laptops I mentioned.
Hey! I just found your channel and am really liking the reviews. I was wandering how this Lenovo compares with the Asus Zenbook S16 you reviewed recently
Thanks for watching! The S16 is a larger machine so it does have more real estate and a slightly better build. In terms of performance I'd argue the S16 edges out. The Aura does have better battery life by a mile though!
Hello. PLEASE answer. Between the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14, Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, Asus ZenBook S 14 LunarLake, and Dell XPS 13 9350 LunarLake, which one is the quietest and the most premium? Silence and premium quality are very important to me. Thank you.
Nice review a) When browsing the web or watching a 4K movie file are the fans completely silent? b) I recently bought the surface laptop 7 and I returned it because I found the motion resolution of the display bad. Too much ghosting and motion blur. How about the Lenovo Aura ?
Thanks for watching! The fans did not sustain when watching 4K content however would briefly come on every 10 or so mins for a few seconds. I did not do a motion blur test on this display however did not notice any such behaviour.
If you choose the Ultra Silent option in UEFI, run on Energy Saver mode and the laptop is unplugged the fans are off while web surfing. The fans are always on when the laptop is plugged in.
@@mariopenulli1395 I think the OP was referring to the audibility of the fan noise rather than the mechanical state. Though of course to your point the fans are mechanically on pretty much most of the times on default settings.
When you place the Lenovo aura on a flat table, does it wobble? Some reviews on TH-cam mention this issue. Can you check this? How is the fan noise when you open 10 TH-cam tabs?
I suggest that you should wait a little longer to observe hinge issue from other users. This issue frequently happens to many people who use HP 2 in 1 laptop such as Envy x360 (from the past until 2024 models). HP acknowledged this issue but there is still no action on it. Sorry for my poor English
My new Zenbook S 16 is 16in and the same 3.3 lbs. Thing is awesome.....kinda spicy hot on my lap sometimes though. Lol. This Yoga Slim 7i lookin good good as well though.
Hey. Thanks for your review. I’m interested how well it will actually work for basic video editing. I create videos for my music business using 1080p footage from a mirrorless camera. Can this handle video editing using also B roll and blending between the two videos?
Intel will likely become the leader in efficient CPU design in the future. With advanced 3D stacking technologies like Foveros, Intel can integrate different chiplets-such as CPU, GPU, and cache-on a single substrate, enhancing performance and energy efficiency. Unlike AMD, which focuses primarily on stacking additional cache (like 3D V-Cache) to improve cache-sensitive tasks.
@@SoulOfTechIntel and AMD take different approaches to 3D stacking, impacting thermal management. Intel’s Foveros technology enables the stacking of various chiplets, such as CPU, GPU, and cache, using Through-Silicon Vias (TSVs) for efficient communication. However, the increased density brings challenges in heat dissipation, which Intel addresses through optimized cooling structures. AMD’s 3D V-Cache, on the other hand, focuses on adding cache above CPU cores to enhance performance in cache-sensitive tasks. Since cache produces less heat than active processing cores, AMD encounters fewer thermal issues but still requires effective heat management.
I don't think it's a 15.6 inch display, Best Buy lists it as a 15.3 inch display. I'm not sure who is wrong.
It's 15.3"
Best Buy is correct, I made a mistake when labeling the screen size. Thanks for pointing it out 👍🏼
Are there any laptops with the same specs and motherboard, but with a non glossy screen?

I definitely agree that tactile trackpads are superior! Thanks for your detailed response :)

i wish you had a website to use and compare with your other reviews. i'll like to know the laptop with the lowest fan noise you've reviewed
That's a nice suggestion. Perhaps in the future once I have more resources I will try to do something like that :)

Please see display and thermals section.

I am comparing this with HP Omniboox Newgen Flip core ultra v which one do you prefer?
flip has 2-in-1 functionality and most importantly a haptic trackpad :)

Assuming you are sticking to 1080p multilayer (footage + b-roll) this thing will be just fine!

Intel just drop memory on package design for next processor .. could it be lunar lake is the only highly efficient processor intel Will ever had?
Hopefully not, Intel thermals are finally in a good place after years of poor design. Lets see what they do!

So is memory on package the same as apple*s unified memory? Is memory on package the same speedy efficiency then? And which chip would that be?
