@@heritage.home.crochet I tend to like the eras that involve an awful lot of fabric, so I play at trying to maintain some of the style but reducing the fabric. I like a lot of eras between the 1700's and the early 1900's. After that, I find it less interesting. I've been a jeans and t-shirt person my whole life, but I was researching my ancestors and wondered what they wore, hahahahah! I am more interested in what the common person wore, not royalty. No royals in my families.

Most people's reference for 40s fashion comes from the 70s and 80s iterations of it, though one landmark collection by YSL which revolutionzed the fashion world was Collection 40 in 1971 , you would look great in those le smoking and 40s tea dresses , Chubby and Turbans, this was a look also which was worn de rigeur by African American women in the 40s club scene.
