    The weight gain for a lot of former athletes also comes from inactive lifestyles but still eating like they were training. Taking in all those calories without being active at all will putting loads of weight on them.

      @@TekkLuthor Agreed, but coping mechanisms aren't going to be end-all-be-all solutions to stress, poverty, and/or depression. Weed definitely helps, but just like money, it just ends up becoming the problem. I found throughout my life that discipline, work ethic, and humility are what set people apart, both financially and in general. I was my most miserable when I was unemployed and a stoner, yet I was at my happiest when I was a curious student who'd only smoke once in a blue moon. I never realized this until I started watching these videos, but balance is the true key to happiness.
      The conclusion I keep coming to after watching these videos is simple: give a solid chunk of your time to work and learn each weekday, and a little time each day to really be able to kick back and relax. Caleb Swanigan most likely never had anybody at home to teach him true work ethic and discipline. He may have had a coach, but he didn't have a father directly set this tone on a day-to-day basis. I know this because my father isn't in my life and I struggle with this very topic. Because only through discipline and actually earning deserved riches from said discipline, can we actually appreciate the things we have in our lives. When you are grateful for everything, you lose nothing

    He grew up with terrible eating habits. His father died at 500 pounds, and Caleb was just born into that lifestyle. When your family is so poor, you'd rather go for the cheetos than a $20 healthy salad. I understand why he's so big- he was just born into that lifestyle, and once he got out of the NBA, he went back to that lifestyle. Sad.

      Going outside isn’t the difference. Weight loss / gain is 80% what you eat, and 20% exercise. But I don’t know what this has to do with the eating habits he took up as a child. He grew up around bad food, was morbidly obese as a child, and a teensy bit of exercise wouldn’t do much. I don’t know the relevancy of your opening statement, diet is the main factor in rapid weight gain, and my initial point is that he grew up with horrid eating habits, and probably went back to those

    • @jastew8814
      @jastew8814 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Alpha Omega ok what exactly does that have to do with Caleb Swanigan + again, weight gain / loss is 80% eating. A bit of exercise will not get you from morbidly obese to healthy

    • @jastew8814
      @jastew8814 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Alpha Omega I do get it, but I don’t think you’ve heard of the 80/20 rule. Exercise won’t do a whole ton, it will aid in calorie deficit, but again, it is mostly what you eat. Intense exercise for a child will burn 300 calories maximum. If you’re eating the type of food that Caleb is eating, exercise will not be enough to sustain a calorie deficit.

As soon as the carreer ends, this suddenly is just a pasttime activity, no need to do hourlong training all day everyday. But, most people keep eating as they did before. I had that experience end of college, where i was in great shape, enough time to train, then i got a fulltime job, no time to train (and no power too) and BOOM all the weight i lost came back almost instantly.

    Those body fat percentages are very inaccurate. These are guesses. One of those percentages was 2% which would mean the player would be dead. You need at 3% body fat to maintain basic body functions. But those kids are probably around 8-12% body fat or even more. It is very difficult to stay sub 10% and gets even more difficult for each percent closer to 5%. A healthy lean body fat percentage is around 12-25% so anything leaner could have adverse effects like the person being lethargic meaning no energy. Does this sound like a basketball professional? Remember, the best body builders in the world are show-ready at 5-6% and are in extreme hunger while doing so. They have no energy. Does this sound like something a professional basketball player could keep up for an entire season?

    Good stuff, Spencer. I like your videos. Regarding this one...or some similar. I agree with all but you should ask why 50% of "income" is taxed (less without the agents blabla). There is no business model that works with taxes as high as that lomgterm, its just grinding.

    Man, I'd hire you Spencer if I was a pro athlete lol. That would be cool to see a documented financial coaching of a professional athelete on TH-cam. Keep up the great content
