Idk man I explore while I go along and get plenty of upgrades as I get through. I just use this vid to clean up things I couldn't get before. But I've been playing on the hardest difficulty and have never felt behind. Maybe if you only clear and explore post game when you're unlocked everything to open paths. This kinda thing is common in "metroidvania" Don't get me wrong though, I hate backtracking like a mfer. I'd really fully explore my first time through and get everything. But this type of thing is not uncommon. You see it everywhere in games.

@@cyrus6461 Thanks for the reply, it was actually something else - the stairs were not aligned enough to how the game wanted them to be I guess. I nudged them a bit and the gold barrier opened.
I’ve found two so far that are purple and have the black square rocks mixed in it. One here which I could enter but couldn’t figure out what to do and another on another different map that was locked. Not sure what to do.
The one I can enter is in glaivgate. Travel there, leave the building head out like you’re leaving that area of the map. There are anchor points on a wall. Look way up the wall and you’ll see the purple shatter fame. I can enter this one. It’s called Acromatic Fane.
Dude why it's so disjointed. Following your guides gives me headache. Just start from the first portal and move from there instead of jumping all over the map. Jesus Christ. Learn to make proper guides.

@@krattler163 yea… you just have to move the steps around until they are in the right spot .. just try keep moving them and it’ll unlock eventually
I just figured it out, when you animate the platforms, they have to be moved all the way over and then the ward disappears

Probably enemies in the area, only reason for yellow force fields
