- Many people think that it is a must to use 100% IV Pokemon and that 0% IV Pokemon ain’t strong. In today’s video, we do an experiment to see if a 0% shadow Pokemon or a 100% non-shadow Pokemon is stronger.

It most definitely is! At least with shadows it's an even chance, since the IVs are a true random roll
Man then u must be the luckiest unluckiest person since I have a 0 iv Pokémon but no 100 iv
Technically it's the same odds, if you don't factor in weather and other things like raiding and hatching (Just comparing one combination to another (0/0/0 vs 15/15/15). Ultimately, since weather boosts, raids, field research, hatching eggs and all of these things have an IV floor and make a 0% IV pokemon impossible to get, but a 100% IV is always possible in all instances, yes it is rarer. Other than collecting purposes though, there is no reason to have a 0% IV for PvE or PvP that is not a shadow.

Thanks for this vid. I have 2* shadow mewto that people were telling me to transfer because he's not a hundo. Im glad I decided to keep him until I got another. I always replace b4 I dispose.

@@zachyurkus I just met them in oct. Hadn't played the game since end of 2016. Trying to figure it all out almost from scratch. Gone from lvl 17 to 32. Looks impossible, but I'm shooting for 40 to get that badge by end of dec.

The point of having nice IVs for shadow mewtwo is so that you can also use it for PVP, ends up being dual purposed so you dont have to power up another one, no one needs top pokemon for raids anymore when you can just invite friends to gang up on the raid boss
Exactly. I’m always raiding with 6+ ppl and my lvl 30-35 Pokémon always got the job done. Even with 10+ ppl you won’t even look at your 3rd to 6th pokemon, these Shadow investments are really useless. It’s company manipulation to reel in more money. 10+ ppl for lugia and we beat em with my first mon on red & im supposed to waste my life away for 20 sec difference? Lmaooo

I've been playing pokemon go for a year now and I've never found a single wild 100% pokemon, but I do fight many grunts daily, and as someone who lives in an area where theres not many raiders now I know which path to take!

@@KillianGallagher shadow Pokémon have much higher attack than normal Pokémon. A 0/0/0 Mewtwo does more damage than a 15/15/15 normal/purified one (same goes for others). Depends a little whether you're going for pvp or pve, where in PvP you're looking for specific IVs but in general you're always better off leaving it
I have two shadow Mewtwos both fully powered up and they kill in raids/gym battles. Always my go to.

Actually purified and shadow are equally strong, shadow have high attack and purified have high defense, but the difference is that one have to spend a lot of stardust and candies, and wait for an event to get a charged attack and that's why purifying is better

For those who want to know the hp difference. Just pause the video at the times he kills both Wobbufett and look at their hp. The times are 05:47 and 09:12. The 100% IV did have a bit more hp.
I think he doesn't have as much as he should have since it took 10 seconds more to kill the boss

@@toccandocreacanaleulterior176 only slightly tankier. And a shadow Pokémon by default has weaker defensive stats.
@@NotGoodAtFantasy theoretically, if you can't get the 90%+ IV on a shadow, the 2* with up to 30 In HP and DEF can almost balance out for the 20% loss by being shadow. AND, that makes them usable for PVP.

Something else people might not realize the stronger the Pokémon the further away the shadow variant will pull ahead of a no shadow variant it is a 20% bonus so the higher the base the bigger the shadow advantage
basically you're saying 20% of 1000 is worth more than 20% of 10
It's hard to get mad at someone for flexing about knowing how percentages work, when so many people probably don't.
But I always reason that people who don't know how percentages work, probably won't search for comparison videos.
Or at the very least, they'll still not understand if you try to explain in one sentence.

So lucky. Mine is 15/15/7. Still gave it psystrike and a 3rd move. It’s now best buddy and I’m using it for pvp. I also have a 15/13/15 shadow machamp.

Thank you for this video. My brother and I only recently started playing Pokemon Go again a few weeks ago, so Shadow Pokemon were new to us. We had been wondering if there is any benefit to having them remain as Shadow Pokemon instead of purifying them, so this helps alot. That said, we do not have anywhere near enough stardust or candies for any of the ones we have caught to get them even to our current levels (27 & 28), let alone to 40. So it might not be feasible for us anyway, at least until we get a hell of a lot more stardust and candies.

But for example, if you purify a Pokemon and it goes from 2 stars 600cp to 3 stars 1800, isn't it better? These are maxed out and not everyone has enough stardust to max out a Pokemon
I only invest in shadow Pokemon that are really good or I really like. I'll purify the rest to get cheaper upgrades. Plus the move return.
For charged tms, it should be you encounter all possible moves first before it goes through a recycle of movesets

Won't the IV's of both raid pokemon you fought affect the results here? Like the first wobbuffet could have had a lower defense stat which would make it die quicker?
They are the same, it changes when defeated as the cp goes down

It’s funny that the time he recorded this I had gotten a 98% shadow wobuffet without attack and my friends were saying make it a hundo. Although I know I’ll never use it as a shadow (knowing its stronger than a regular one) or max it out, the video just proves my point and it makes me happy to see someone test the science as he says!
