It does look pretty good. Why does he not was to share the entire process? It doesn’t appear to be that difficult to figure out .

The man’s trying to earn a living, keeping your technique and materials close to the vest give you an edge on your competitors.

Color looks spot on but the dot density is much less to me. The original looks more dense. These things did vary alot from GM as far as coverage. As he said at the beginning, they were hand sprayed usually by at least 3 different guys at the assembly plants, all with their own techniques and day-to-day variances. The variance is actually what you want. you have to keep in mind always that these were hand done at a car a minute rolling down the line. A big drip splotch would be seen from time to time where the gun drooled if the guy stopped in a spot. Most restorers don't like to do these things as it looks sloppy.

I agree with you but you really need to see the trunk in person and not on a video. I judge Chevelles at MCACN and organize the NOCC all Chevelle show in Chicago not to mention Chevelles I restore. I have seen a lot of original trunks and restored ones. They are all over the place when it comes to dot size, pattern, and neatness. We tried to duplicate this trunk from the photos we had of the original trunk before restoration. Tom looked at photos and set his technique up appropriately. I will say that this will hold up a lot better than the original job because of the materials used. Thanks for the great comment and I hope you can come see the car at MCACN in Chicago this year.
