Oh Nathan ! - why do you do it to me every time ?!!! - your playing turns me to jelly inside - you put every fibre of your being into it and the result is staggering ! . So many string players are technically brilliant but only a handful can produce that inner soul and character that leaves the listener spellbound ( and worn out !!) . Thank you SO much.
Nathan, I'm a big fan of yours. I've watched all your videos. Congratulations on all you have achieved so far. You are a truly sensitive and profund artist. It would be a dream seeing you live in concert here in Ecuador.
Of all the works I have heard you play this is a stand alone performance, the depth of feeling portrayed is immense and I am carried away by each note! Even some of your best tutors would be proud to have recorded such a beautiful rendition! Love your work and keep spreading the joy of music!
Bravissimo, Nathan! A stellar performance! Original and creative, technically brilliant. This piece is one of my all time favorites. I've performed it many times and struggled with its challenges. You are an inspiration!
Wow! Beautiful as always. I'm currently learning Bruch concerto 1 and Praeludium and Allegro; seeing how far you've come from those is a big motivator for me. Thank you!
Thanks so very much! That's a hard question. I don't think I actually try to play with emotion. I just try to really understand what the music is saying before I play it. Does that make any sense?
@@Rana-cz2dl if I may, I agree with (wise beyond his years Nathan), learning the technical aspects of a piece and then being able to understand and execute crucially the dynamics and get an overall sense of phrasing! This is the real key to getting "the emotion" of music once this begins to congeal, experimenting with where and how to vary the vibrato will really complete the "emotional" picture. Beyond all this, making an actual visual scene in your mind to what the music is depicting (to you) can be the trick to make it all come together though! Playing musically is ultimately just about being inspired by what you see on the page. Of course a certain level of technical achievement must exist to enable any musical sense imparted to the music to be effective;) That's where the countless hours of slow methodical work comes in. Nathan has demonstrated the results of this incredible laborious process wonderfully here!!!
Incredible as always, Nathan! You play so cleanly and have such emotion and I love love love your vibrato and kind of old-fashioned sound that reminds me of Itzhak Perlman. Since this is an encore, do we get to see a video of the concerto soon?
Thanks so much, Hannah! Nothing is better to my ear than Perlman's vibrato :) I'm allowed to post a 3 min excerpt of the concerto, and I'll try to put that up soon. Have a wonderful summer!!
Thanks, Mariana! I'm always nervous, too... but have learned to see that as a good thing that I can channel into the music. It helps to just recognize it as a positive rather than negative... think of it as excitement instead of nerves ;) I also like going for a walk or run before the performance, if possible. I wish I had a better answer.... but hope that helps in some small way. Happy New Year... and all the best!!
WOW! I loved your interpretation Nathan
Thanks so much, Camila! :)
Beautifully played! I was never a big fan of this piece but after listening to this I finally feel like I understand it and appreciate it. Thank you!
Thanks so much! That's so nice to hear! :)

How can you play so emotional? Any advices?

@@NathanMeltzer not really...but i'll try it thanks for advice

@@NathanMeltzer I didn't mean to intrude, but I know you are a busy concert violinist, so I wanted to help out;)
Magical...👏
Thanks so much! :) :)
You improve soo much soo quickly!! Congrats!
Thanks so much! I wish I felt that way! :)

Do you have any advices for nerves when performing?

Wishing you the best! 🎉🎻
Ever wanted to date someone like him? Oh I sure do. I sure do. :)
Keep it up. This is great!
:) :) Thanks so much!
@@NathanMeltzer Omg. U replied. Apologies if I was rude or anything. But keep it up. Many people are being inspired by you just by playing. :)
Not rude at all.... Thanks again :)
@@NathanMeltzer Maybe I'm just thrilled :) Anyway I'll start maybe by playing the violin. Who knows, maybe I can play it ?
Oh boy...come to Poland!
I wanna see you playing live! I shouldn’t but I’m so jealous. I mean...ohh 😫
For now, you’re my best.
Btw- Was it for bis?
Thanks so much! Of course, I would love to come to Poland! Hopefully sometime soon :) (Sorry...Not sure what bis means?)
Nathan Meltzer
Hmm...bis = encore (???)
I don’t know how to use it in english. The piece played after massive applause. :)
Ah. Yes, it was the encore. :)
4:10 , when you check to make sure you didn't set the video to 1.5x speed.

Congratulation on this beautiful & perfect performance (except those cough sound) @@
Ha! Thanks so much, Ting!! :)
😍💗
Thanks, man! Hope we can catch up again soon! :)
Fantastic Nathan! Such a disrespectful audience though... noise every 3 seconds from them
Thank you! It was actually a wonderful audience... just some pent up coughing ;)
