- Lost Eden, a Strategy/ Point and Click hybrid game from the now defunct Cryo studios, is one of the most fondly remembered PC games of my childhood. This is partly due to the smooth, moving 3d graphics, which for the time (I was like, 4-5?) were pretty incredible stuff, as well as the art direction and story.
One of the things that always stuck out the most in my mind though, was the brilliant soundtrack by composer Stéphane Picq. The soundtrack was so well regarded in fact, that it was released on CD after the game's release, despite the game's relative obscurity.
I thought I would make the Lost Eden soundtrack available on TH-cam in tribute to this much overlooked title.

This music has no right to be so good. It encapsulates everything that defines mystical 90's PC game music. The synth, the electronic mixing, the whole "jungle" or "tribal" aspects strewn throughout. Only other soundtracks I relate it to are Myst's, and the Encyclopedia Encarta '95 program's.

i think that it is absolutely stunning how many people fell in love with the music from this game... i was 4 when the game was released, and introduced to it shortly afterward (probably around 6)- i couldn't enjoy the game itself because the puzzles where beyond me at the time, but the music has stayed with me for all these years...

That would be awesome, unfortunately this game would be a nightmare to obtain the rights to, like any other Cryo game. I'm not sure who owns the copyright now that the company is defunct.

@@subtledemisefox if i am correct Microids had gotten hold of all intelectual property of cryo. Microids later merged with mc2 and is now known as "MC2-Microïds". If i have gotten my facts right they in theorie hold the rights.

"Lost Eden" was one of the first games I ever played. To this day, I still haven't beat it. The one time I got close, after having found the game again over a decade since I had last played it, my computer decided it would be funny never to load past a certain point.
Regardless, I thought it was a great game, and it remains a fond part of my childhood. Hell, listening to this is like getting hit in the head by a nostalgia brick.

Oh man this game was so good, but so hard for my young brain, i love this sound track and would always try to go back to the scene where this soundtrack was played when i was really annoyed, when i now listen to it it gives me chills and i can't stop listening.

I absolutely adore this song. Such a great game. Yes the graphics look incredibly outdated now (mainly the transport cutscenes), but gosh darnit it was AMAZING back then. Truly an underrated gem. It's a good thing so many people remember Lost Eden and it's mesmerizing soundtrack ^_^

It is truly amazing how I find this and see how many of you guys love this game as much as I did, it does bring so many memories and the soundtrack, truly awesome , they should really remake this game since it is awesome and the story line is so amazing as well. I remember absolutely playing the demo of this game to bits and then at one point, seeing the full version at a friend's place and borrowing it like, 15 years later. Turned out the rest of the game was pretty lame and repetitive, but all of that demo portion was oh man, so good.

i still have the game here, the original US release by Virgin. It still plays fine on my old Celeron laptop with Windows 98SE :)

Great game! Bought it twice! The first version was a complete game. The second game was some damn ripoff of Virgin, who compressed the game in one large 100+MB archive file, which I could not open (probably to protect content from being manipulated, like ripping sound samples etc...)
Loved the game! Best game of it's time together with Stunts 4D Drive, and Terminal velocity.
you can still play it on your computer. if you have no DOS, you could use an emulator like dosbox.

This is incredible news. It feels dreamlike! The music from this game is unlike anything else and I have carried it in my heart since I was a child. When I listen to the Citadel of Mo, I close my eyes and return again to a lonely 8 year, turning on the TV at 5 am with headphones (so as to not wake the family) and disappearing into what was then my favorite game. Oh god I loved this game. I must have been, oh i dont know 9 or 10 when I got it. I remember justing sitting and letting the music loop. And that's why i've just bought it off ebay. This version of the music isn't quite as good as the game version... still takes me back though.
