    I took delivery a week ago of a pair of Lumina IIs; perfect for the “cozy” confines of my sailboat home. I have them paired with a McIntosh MC152 amp and C49 preamp, Bluesound Node and Emotiva ERC2 CD used as a transport to the C49 DAC-1. The front firing stealth bass port works perfectly in my smallish salon. I am still burning in the speakers but already am enjoying the brilliance of these speakers. All I can say is “Bravo” Sonus faber and Bravo McIntosh! What a great marriage of design, craftsmanship and, most importantly, transcendently beautiful presentation of my favorite music.

    I listened to the Lumina III and loved them, warm sweet tone especially in the vocals and string instruments, with great definition (something I haven't come across much in this price range). I just ordered the Vs as as I will have them placed in a large room so I thought it would be a better choice. I spoke with several Sonus Faber owners and they were all very happy with their choice, also the very fussy ones. I am not an expert when it comes to HIFI, I listened to different speakers and just fell in love with these due to the natural, almost emotional sound (if that's the right word) they are able to produce and the looks are an added bonus. I am Italian and really like their philosophy of the Lumina, make something that sounds great, is a piece of craftsmanship, and is accessible and enjoyable by a wider range of audiences and budgets. Complimenti!

    Hi, I've got lumina III used with a modest Marantz NR 1200 amplifier. Which amplifier would you choose to drive them easily with coherence according to the quality of the speakers. Thank you for your advices.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bobby, while the NR1200 is a very good value amp, the Lumina could benefit from more power. Please reach out to our team at www.audioadvice.com for the best advice. Thanks for watching

    By comparison to the 700 series B&W's, where do they sit?

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 700 series uses veneer on all sides as opposed to just the front with the Lumina series. Sonically, the Lumina towers will have a bigger, more prominent bass response and a less forward treble compared to the 700 series. The Lumina series will also be a bit easier to drive compared to the more power hungry Bowers and Wilkins 700 series speakers.

      Priced below the 700 series. The Lumina V sounds much better than the 702 S2.

    I like the Olympica iii but $24,000 is about $20,000 more than I’ve got. Maybe I could ask for a special discount.

      @@tms372 Don't fool yourself. Speakers are somewhat like wine just because you by a $250.00 bottle doesn't mean its better than a $25.00 bottle.

    Only 4 inch speakers in their center? And no true surrounds or Atmos modules? Very unfortunate.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The center channel actually sounds great if you cross it over around 80 Hz. There are other options in their architectural series but we agree some Atmos toppers would be nice. Thanks for watching
