This description sounds like you pampered your hair with weekly masks and treatments when you had the Japanese hair straightening done but did not do the same when you previously had your hair relaxed. Surely that means if you had done the same when you had it relaxed it would have grown just as well, perhaps? Harsh chemicals ( such as relaxer or bleach) will always weaken one’s hair which means that a person needs to take extra care of their hair subsequently.
