- Another central piece of the wonderful SNES masterpiece "Terranigma". "Magic Rocks", also known as "Fortune Teller", has different functions in the game, e.g. acting as the game's menu theme and the magic shop's theme. I always loved the very special vibe the piece creates, pending between an arcane and magical atmosphere and a quite mystical yet adventurous mood. My approach was to extend the impression of the original by building an arrangement that supports the atmosphere while keeping close to it's core and adding some new atmospheric elements to it. Totally excited to hear what you think about it!
The outstanding soundtrack of Terranigma was originally composed by Miyoko Kobayashi (Takaoka) and Masanori Hikichi.

If Terranigma ever gets a Trials of Mana style remake, I hope to god they contract you for the music for it.

It’s ironic because I remember playing Terranigma just December 2019 I don’t mind revisiting this gem again in 2020 especially in quarantine
People should modify an emulator like they did for 3DSen, but instead of turning graphics 3D, they should replace the soundtrack for these songs haha

Je öfter ich deine Terranigma-Cover höre, umso sehnsüchtiger warte ich auf eine Verfilmung oder einen zweiten Teil.
Wird leider nie passieren. Eher wird daraus ein schlechter Abklatsch für die Switch produziert, als das sowas kommt. Hat man ja schon bei SoM gesehen.

Richtig toll arrangiert! Das Intro leitet toll ein, die Exposition ist sehr nah am Original und Durchführung & Schluss sind gänsehautlastig - vielen Dank für schöne Erinnerungen, leicht feuchte Augen und einen Grund, den SNES wieder mal anzuschalten ♥️
ach und wünsche mir Beruga‘s Lab weil ich absolut noch kein Arrangement gefunden habe was die Grusel-Nostalgie des Originals aufleben lässt, dankesehr!

I've listened to this as soon as you released it but now that I'm doing again I just can't stop thinking of how much of an amazing experience Terranigma was... I hope I can see the day a remake finally appears. You know what track would be amazing to have in your style? The last boss, I think it's the Dark Gaia theme? You are awesome, man. Like in most of your reworks, you managed to translate Terranigma to 2020 standards of orchestral background music. If there was a remake of Terranigma, I'd love that your work would be there, and that's quite something to say since the original pieces were masterpieces.
There was nothing epic about this theme in the original piece, yet you added an epic feeling that an orchestra can easily achieve it, but keeping the original melody and mysterious feeling of a weird guy selling you chrystals.
I've been following your works for a while, if you are planning to keep working on Terranigma music please do. You have a huge talent and even if this is an old game not as popular as other SNES titles, it was indeed a jewel, my favorite game and objectively a great game victim of bad marketing in a hard time of gaming.

This a great track and good cover. Do you have plans to do the Laboratory theme? I remember that one stood out in the ost for being very different from the rest and just curious what re-mastery you would come up with if you covered that one. And also, thanks for this upload, each one is a delight

Hi, check out my little walkthrough here: watch There I showed a selection of sample libraries I use. Unfortunately, most of these aren't for free and sample libraries in general can be quite expensive... but there are a number of good starting points out there (e.g. Orchestral Essentials by Project SAM) which come with all the essential instruments.

this kind of arrangement sounds like it belongs in the legend of zelda breath of the wild soundtrack or something like that due to its instrumentation i suposed lol

nett aber das Original ist wesentlich besser... einfach weil es schneller und klarer klingt... die Epicisierung: Laut+Langsam+Unscharf tut dem Sound keinen Gefallen

@@RomanHeuser Ich hätte "anders" statt "besser" sagen sollen... Bei deiner Version des Boss themes von Terranigma funktioniert das ganze sehr gut... bei Magic Rocks allerdings bricht es etwas die Klarheit/Leere/Stille die ich mit dem Theme assoziere. Terranimga ist ein Spiel in dem Einsamkeit ein zentrales Element ist und MagicRocks unterstreicht die Einsamkeit des Spielers sehr gut. Wenn man jetzt das Theme auf episch trimmt kommt es einfach merkwürdig rüber.
Ich könnte mir zB dieses chinesische stück

auch nicht in episch vorstellen ohne unnötige Komplexität und Dröhnung hinzuzufügen die (ich bin totaler Musik-Laie) das Motiv/den emotionalen Eindruck verändern...
