I speak Zulu as my first language and you guys really gave it a good try - you almost had it. The man that sings the opening is fluent in Zulu and that's probably why you didn't quite get how the official lyrics match the actual tune. In IsiZulu, the way you speak the language is often different from how you write it down since there is a tendency to cut the last syllable of each word either in half or completely omit it. To make things worse, we also tend to try and join that cut off word to the next word - which will again be cut off. This is why people who don't speak Zulu just hear it as a bunch of random sounds rather than distinct words within a sentence.
