Ridge tells Omar that he has never let go of Taylor in his heart and that if he could speak to her he would thank her for making him a better person. Taylor is satisfied with his answers.

Sally and Stephanie together are always the most dynamic duo on this show, to me.
The haircut scene was definitely their best (and both their favorite) but they had a LOT of runners-up.

@@TriniT21 Great minds Trish! 🙂And yes I feel like we were robbed of a great storyline of Sheila going to the press and getting leverage in the divorce because Kimberlin was leaving the show. You could see it playing out like the Y&R storyline with Diane dragging Victor through the press and getting the upper hand in their divorce which then netted her a seat on the board at Newman Enterprises. Similarly, Sheila could've maybe gotten a small percentage of Forrester stock which would've tied her to the core of the show. But as we see also with the Morocco storyline, B rad doesn't know how to handle exits. 🙄
It also bodes well for these therapy sessions that the ONE thing that Eric and Sheila are in total agreement on is the fact that Sheila is blackmailing Eric.

Would have been an awesome exit if Sheila reaches the point where she thinks she's getting control of Forrester.. Is in Eric's office about to lay down the law to everyone....and in walks the police (along with Lauren and Paul) to arrest her!
These scenes with Ridge honoring his love and devotion for Taylor and Taylor's emotional responses made me cry. The words were extremely moving, especially with the poignant background music. So sad, yet so beautiful.

In certain periods Taylor, James and Ruth had her back as well.
But even the spectra gang had their fall outs with each other and working behind their backs against each other. So much to friendship in this show.

They've missed 1912. They usually program them in about 1-2 weeks in advance, and at this stage you can see they have only programmed in 1913 and 1914 as episodes awaiting to "air". Love the scene with Stephanie and Sally, they are always so good. Nothing is as it seems in this episode. Sally is really there to scope out the situation with Jessica, she knows that Stephanie wouldn't be able to go to Europe because of the court case. Eric really doesn't want to save his marriage, he's just appeasing Sheila so she won't go scorched earth on him and agree to a amicable divorce. And Omar is having this last dinner with the American newlyweds so that his captive will chill out and he can try to cultivate a life with her.😊

Not sure why the court case matters. The trial is only set after the Rotterdam concert. Jessica is a victim/witness, but I think she is still allowed to leave LA/ the US. If Stephanie would take Jessica to Europe for Thorne's Rotterdam concert, Stephanie at least wouldn't have to worry that Jessica is still meeting Dylan secretly.
@@mara4450 good point! Stephanie really has no valid reason to miss Thorne's concert. And I think Sally is sincere in wanting to go to Europe with Stephanie - Sally has always had Stephanie's friendship as her ultimate goal.

This marocco story becomes more and more ridiculous with Taylor standing behind this mirror... and taylor becomes more and more ridiculous with her obsession for Ridge. In the beginning taylor was an independent woman with a career and more and more they made her Ridges toy, same as Brooke.
You make a good point…in the beginning Taylor had her standards and she pretty much stuck to them concerning Ridge.
But then she decided to take the Risk with Ridge and lost her Independent thinking. 😳

yeah, the writers from 1995 and on seem to have changed the characters... personality. Making the independent Taylor we used to know, now going down her knees for Ridge begging and begging to have him, and then same thing with Sheila. From being protective to her child etc, to agreeing with James and Maggie for giving it away for adoption. That makes zero sense, really. I wonder if the new writers even made any bakground check on the characters history first, before writing this nonsense script (that will become even more nonsense in the upcoming seasons).
This when the actress Hunter starts making this over used hand and facial movements.

i get Ridge's talk. When Caroline died, Ridge tried to go back to RIdge before Caroline (in an attempt to hide his pain) thus his love affair with Brooke. With Taylor he moved on....now him getting back to Brooke is not him revisiting his past, but him becoming a family man,
and he attributes that character development to Taylor

Yes, which is what led him to leave Brooke once he learned Thomas was his. Ridge didn't leave Taylor for Brooke when she had Bridget. However, as soon as he experienced what it was like to be a full-time family man with Brooke, he regretted not giving that to Bridget and Brooke sooner. So, when Taylor had Thomas, there was no way Ridge was going to do to Thomas what he originally did to Bridget. It was actually Brooke who turned Ridge into a family man because he loved the life he had with her and the kids. Unfortunately, the writers decided to upend their story and do the Tridge storyline. They needed Brooke to spearhead a lot of drama on the show with Stephanie, and she couldn't do that married to Ridge for an extended period of time. No rewrites really just more scandals to create ratings, and her character did that for years.

Taylor dying the first time prompted Ridge to become a family man with Brooke.. writers had already built the storyline that Bridget was Erics from 1992 , it wasnt a rewrite in 1996. I also agree that writers couldnt maintain Ridge and Brooke for long because the basis of the show was Brooke fighting to win Ridge by any means and Brooke/Stephanie. Ridge and Taylor were maintanable but the writer wanted to bring Brooke back in the mix without compromising Taylor/Ridge thus Taylor “killed” ( and also try Ridge/Bridget/Brooke triangle which failed miserably). But he eventually brought back Taylor because Brooke was left with no equal leading lady( show always had 2 leading ladies). But he he did decide to make Taylor a flawed character and move her to new directions , was good for a few years, but eventually she ended up being a doormat for Brooke… the show revolved around Brooke which destroyed the show in my opinion
@@staceygash9421 actually, I found that they started turning Ridge from playboy into a "Family man" when he married Caroline.
Prior to that, Brooke got pregnant and he was less than thrilled (in fact, he was downright unhappy about it) but went ahead to set a wedding date as it was the right thing to do by the baby.
With Caro he was looking at building a house and wanted to start a family with her.
Of course that never happened bc Caro died, but that was really the start of Ridge's turn into family guy
Ridge (by way of the writers) seems to have amnesia about his time with Brooke between Caroline and Taylor. What a burn to Brooke to have to sit there and listen to how it was Taylor who made him a better man.

They have skipped episode *1912* , here is what has happened in the missing episode:
*Taylor* presents *Omar* her set of questions for the evening so that the prince will realize what she already knows: her husband has not forgotten her. Omar tries again to convince Taylor of the benefits of a life by his side will carry. Taylor explains that pleasure and indulgence will not be enough for her. Omar has a solution for this, too: he shows Taylor that he cares for needy orphans, a task in which she could also find her calling. She is impressed. However, Taylor only wants to consider staying with Omar if Ridge does not reveal any feelings for her tonight.
Meanwhile, *Ridge and Brooke* wonder why Prince Omar has been so insistent for them to stay one more night. Ridge suggests to Brooke to check out the palace a bit more in order to find out if they uncover a secret agenda. Later, they accidentally stumble into Taylor's room. Ridge immediately notices an odor in the room that reminds him of someone.
To help *Thorne* who is concerned for his niece due to the trouble with Dylan, *Ivana* uses her connections to enlist José Eber. The famous hairdresser then surprises *Jessica* that he is about to give her a makeover

Sally is so transparent. She doesn't care if Stephanie goes to the concert or not. And she knows the trial will be schedules. And unlike Eric (who will go to europe) she has the responsiblity for jessica. Not everyone is like eric or brooke.
She only is there for some inside knowledge. Why would Stephanies friends be at this very moment at the house that sally walks in. Friends are ususally live at their own place. And you can have friends that you seldom see and often maybe talk to on the phone, but their still be friends.
There are the other ladies on that committee. We don’t see them anymore, but presumably they’re still there. And there’s Ruth, though she lives out of town.
I actually think Sally does care. She thinks of the concert as an opportunity for her and Stephanie to bond. She always wanted Stephanie's friendship.

It's just not top of her agenda. If it were Ridge, there would probably be a whole conflict around his decision to put his potential music career before his career as a designer. After Caroline’s death Ridge leaned on Brooke but it was bittersweet because he loved Brooke too. But Brooke was with Eric and expecting a child with him. Brooke helped Ridge get over his first loss of Caroline to Thorne. So in Ridge’s grief he found a reason to go on because of Brooke’s compassion for him.
Is it any wonder that Ridge turned back to Brooke whom he says he loved all along?

A connection that was acknowledged by Stephanie, Felicia, Eric, Thorne and even Brooke. It was manipulations and mind games that got in the way. Ridge did not pursue Brooke for a very long time. I feel it was Taylor who helped Ridge at the time he needed help most, and even to acknowledge what he felt for Brooke.

Ridge's account of Taylor may seem like a rewrite, but it's not. When he says Taylor wasn't insecure, we know that's not true. But Taylor never showed her insecurities to Ridge. She would pretend to be cool with his relationship with Brooke and the baby and then cry to Stephanie, her dad or Brooke.
Pure and honest is what she showed him. Meanwhile, she slept with James and while dating Ridge, slept with him and Blake in the same week.
Last episode, we see her upset that Ridge gave his firstborn a family heirloom. Taylor was insecure about the baby and wanted Ridge to treat his firstborn as a second-class child. She used her position as a therapist to encourage Eric to move back in with Brooke. Any ethical psychiatrist would have turned him away, given she sought a romantic relationship with Ridge.
So Ridge only knows secure, confident, pure Taylor, because that is the woman duplicitous Taylor allows him to see.
I think Ridge knew of Taylor’s insecurities about him before and during their marriage. Taylor knew from the beginning that Ridge loved Brooke. Taylor’s passive aggressive behavior towards Ridge was tied into her jealousy of Brooke.
Ridge is being kind about Taylor’s memory. He’s leaving out how dealing with him wasn’t easy? He’s leaving out how his fixation on Brooke nearly ended their marriage.😦

I always remember in school when I was doing Literature, how amazing it was that different people got different things from the same text in the same book we all read.
Some of them I could get what they were saying, even if I didn't agree, bc they could use exact lines from the book to give a possible alternate scenario.
Others, however, literally made stuff up based on their own bias and could not find one thing in the text to back up their argument (other than their own strong bias). And nothing you could draw directly from the text in the book would change their minds...

So Ridge is saying all these great things about Taylor, his love for her and wanting to be together with her some day and Brook is just sitting there listening to him go on like and idiot. It is so funny to me that Taylor is in these traditional clothes, when as soon as she realized who she was, she'd ask for western/other clothes, since she hates everything about that place, even if to get rid of the princess Layla thing. Omar would at least indulge her on that one.
Either way I get why they do it, it fits with the set aesthetically, and Taylor looks beautiful no matter what she wears.
