i really like this version. this is the first version i’ve seen where there is no physical relationship between the ml and fl. their relationship remained purely cooperatively until the end. also the use of the same actress for the concubine and fl was a great decision, her range is incredible. the relationship between the fl and sister-in-law was a nice touch too. i’m happy she was able to get out and everyone who was supposed to got their comeuppance
This version made the most sense. I have seen a versions where the face, body, voice and temperaments of the FL and Imperial Concubine were so different but audience were expected to overlook. If the FL had played the mistress as well, it would been perfect...
For ML to be so obsessive to a girl who flew the lantern with him when he was a kid. I think it's because that happened when all his family were killed and he was so depressed to the point of wanting to die. FL encouraged him and let him find his purpose. I think that's why he's so emotionally attached to her.
Another variation on the reborn FL's husband is pretending to be dead while raising a family outside while she seems to be the substitute for the powerful forced-lover's true love who is an imperial concubine. I am always up for watching one of these.
Approved! I enjoyed this drama immensely. 2nd ML was a bit trippy for me because I like the actor, so watching him be evil was a bit hard. Satisfactory revenge and great ending 👏👏👏👏
I usually enjoy this storyline but I didn’t care for this one. I prefer the versions without the green tea (imperial concubine). I prefer when the FL and ML work together to get the revenge and her freedom. They trust and respect each other. The past life was kinda abusive, even some in the reborn life between the leads. Also don’t care for the mistaken identity trope. 😣 😣 😣 😣 😣 The FL’s revenge plots are vicious if you like that sort of thing. She’s strong and smart. Her past experiences have left her so hurt she scoffs at the idea of love. But all the villains get what they deserve (wish the concubine’s punishment had been harsher). The ending is kinda open ended though.
I don't really like the "ML character" in this version..... 😏👀 In my opinion, this version of ML character is the WEAKEST among the other versions.... 😏 That's good.... FL doesn't one two three immediately accept ML's love.... Honestly I don't like it... 🤣🤣🤣 Well overall.... Not bad ❤️

I prefer FL’s previous look. Now her jaw is too slim and sharp which make her face looks long.
I liked it but ml was also toxic in someways simply because he recognized a different person. I really hate that trope, it ruined the movie for me.
