I always try and be confident but always put myself down and think what if that other person is going harder than me doing more than me, I have to push harder each day do more than them if they are going to beat me I want to do as much as I can leave no stone unturned but then still think did I do enough
Why compare yourself to somebody else? It's a losing game to do so, isn't it? Cos there will always be someone who can do more than you, push harder than you, go farther than you, have more than you, etc, etc. I can understand in a competitive setting, yeah, you gotta do what you can to go harder than the next person. However, if not and you're working on you, why not just get and be better than who you were yesterday?
I may or may not when but you are certainly going to feel my effort!
in Bulgaria we say - Don't say "hop" before you jump. It probably doesn't translate very well into English, but... For example, when a person jumps over a puddle or a ditch they say "hop" at the same time they jump over it, but if they say "hop" before the jump they will fall into the puddle .

One of the underlying micro things that happens also is you underestemate your opponents capabilities giving your opponent a huge advantage that they would not of had. In many cases a newbie who lacks skill and expeeience can overcome a seasoned veteran wjen you should have easily crushed them, if you underestemate them.
