I grew up not far from the Duck River and when we were very small Dad would take us to the river for lunch, along with a huge parcel of hot chips. We loved feeding all the leftover chips to the ducks, seagulls and pelicans because they all came up really close to us.

We usually have a least 1 or 2 families of ducks here a year, the babies are so cute, I've made a pontoon - size of a pallet- that stays in the middle of the dam, mum and dad duck stay on there with their ducklings at night- keeps them safe from foxes etc- ok my girl you have a great week and catch up soon. Ducks. Where do I start. Lol Duck eggs are big. Next town over would throw chicken eggs at our bus. Drive was fed- up with them doing this for 3 days in a row. She told everyone to bring eggs and a change of clothes. Well we raised ducks. She drove by and we blasted the kids. The last egg was my duck egg I found was an old one, it smelled. Hit the kid in the face, no I just threw it didn't mean to hit him there, inside bus was covered in egg. Her boss want the name of the kid that did the mess to suspend them from the bus. She said everyone one did. So do I go on vacation during their suspension. No one was suspended. We all still talk about this still. That was almost 50 years ago. Hope you had a laugh.
