Randy, I like the videos you put out I have been watching your channel on and off for a few years now since around the time you and WB were all good. With that said I so wish that you would stop telling ppl how much you paid for everything. Itcomes off as arrogant. I hate that. I don't really think that's what you are trying to accomplish but that's the end result. Your show in my opinion would be just as good or better if you just left that part out. We all get it... You spend a bunch of money that very few other ppl have. Maybe try it to see if the audience is a little more accepting of the videos! Just a thought. I'm not trying to rain on your parade I just hate when ppl have to tell me what everything cost them or what they paid for things like that. Its like are you trying to compensate with your big wallet??? I just seems like bragging. Nobody likes a bragger.. How is your brother doing I have not seen a video from captain petty in a long time. Is he ok? Hope all is well just poking a lil fun with the captain petty....
Being a wholesale dealer it comes with the territory that people are interested in knowing how much I buy and sell my cars for. The business/financial side must also be shown. I appreciate you watching and hope you can see it from that point of view.
It is odd you take it that way. Most of us that know the car business want to know if he got a good deal or not. Try looking into yourself and ask why him mentioning the cost of things triggers you.
@AutoAuctionRebuilds I agree Randy! As a businessman myself and for any viewers considering flipping cars as a hobby, side hustle, or as a main occupation, I'm interested in what the proffit margin is. I understand that the margin varies in different areas both within and outside of the U.S. Fees, taxes, competition, and simply the cost of the vehicles vary in each area. I don't consider this information to be bragging, but simply full disclosure and I appreciate that honesty. Nearly any car flipping show I've seen (Fast n' Loud comes to mind) Richard states the price paid and the sale price unless the other party requests not to. Keep up the great content Randy. I enjoy your videos and appreciate the investment of time and effort spent to bring them to anyone who wishes to see them.
try that in a full size Deville. We had one as a kid. Talk about a terrible car and terrible motor. The cams were butter soft, and at about 75K they were as round as the cam bearings. Odd because it would idle perfectly, but it would backfire through the TBI if you tried to drive it.
Hey Randy ! I ended up buying a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. From OKC CoPart. All because I watched your vids and I went out and like you I found a good car. Had it for 3 years and then it finally had to many issues and quit on me. Lookin for a new one now. Thanks for all your content. Love your videos ! Keep up the great work !!
My parents bought a 1982 Seville back when it was new. After the fuel crisis of the 70s diesel seemed like a viable option to avoid ever getting stuck in a line at the gas pump again. His had an option auxiliary tank where you could extend the range to 1000. The Seville looked fantastic and is an elegant shape to this day but mechanically was a mess. It was a mish-mash of both standard and metric nuts and bolts and the diesel engine was always causing problems. It spent a lot of the time at the dealer for repairs. One time, my father left his beeper (yes Im dating myself) on rear deck where the rear license plate lives. We drove about 25 miles and the beeper was still sitting on the bumper that’s how smooth it rode.
I really like how you add how much the cars your looking at are going for price wise !! Hearing your response on what they’re going for adds more detail to the videos ! Keep it up randy 👍
The Sevilles in those model years were considered the best riding Cadillacs ever - period. That interior makes me think its a Biarritz edition. I had an Eldo with the HT4100n engine. Never any issues for over 140,000 miles. The sad part is those bumper fillers are only available in fiberglass now and they are VERY expensive and will cost a fortune to have custom fitted.
There was no Seville Biarritz. Most Sevilles in 1984-1985 had the comfortable buttoned pillow top seats that only came with the premier editions of other Cadillacs such as the Eldo Biarritz and Fleetwood Brougham D’Elegance. One reason for it was that the Seville was already the most expensive Cadillac offering. Second reason was the softening sales of the car, which we all know the bustleback did not sell anywhere near as well as the original 76-79 Seville. Softening sales due to polarized style opinions and lackluster, problematic drivetrains as they tried to make their luxury cars fit the new EPA guidelines as well as consumer budgets. The decision to make a diesel engine standard across the entire Cadillac line in 1980 was a BIG mistake. followed by problematic v8-6-4 systems, followed by the anemic 4100 which developed head gasket and top end issues early on. There was a high trim level called Elegante that used an entirely different style of seat altogether. These cars have a neat center console between the front two seats that offer storage options as well as a fancy writing pad.
The 2016 Maxima is objectively quick, too. Every 2016 Maxima is powered by a 300-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 with 261 lb-ft of torque, and on the track, the sportier SR and upscale Platinum models both hit 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. $40,000+ new
I'd *LOVE* to see the Seville on the channel! It looks exactly like the Seville Ally Sheedy's character "Allison Reynolds" was dropped off and picked up in "The Breakfast Club"!
If that is a 1982 Seville, the motor may have been replaced. 1982, 83 had chrome valve covers. 84 and beyond had the black ones. Check near the oil filler cap for “GM TARGET” if it’s there, this would be a corrected 4100. The vynil top is actually on a fiberglass shell, hence no rust. To remove, take all the screws out on the trim lines, the from the back above rear window, push forward. This should unlock the mounting clips. To see error codes, turn key on, push OFF and WARMER at same time, codes should flash. To reset, push OFF and HIGH at same time. Cycle key. Good luck Randy, I’ll be following this one!!
My grandpa recently passed a couple years ago and he had an 85 Seville in excellent condition. My grandma sold it to a car dealer in town for 14k. Believe it had 60 thousand on the odemeter as they bought it new. Love seeing a Seville again.
That's my favorite era of Seville because of the strange waterfall style trunk, I'd pay $800ish for that old creature. You just don't see too many of these not rusted out or completely thrashed, beautiful (and yes I'd drive the hell out of it). That $8k retail value is a laugh and a half tho! $800 maybe
@@IxAMxABUit would have been much higher new. I had an 81 Coupe DeVille that retailed for $12k, and the Seville was more upmarket. NADA says it had a $23k MSRP. The $8k is the best condition NADA retail value, which this one clearly isn't... But people see that and think their cars are worth that with dents, high miles, engine/transmission messed up, etc. They don't realize that retail condition is near-perfect... Pretty close to how it was in the showroom when it was new. Low retail, which would be a car like this, but ready for sale, which this is not, is $1750. Typically wholesale value, which is exactly what this Seville is, is about half the low retail. So if this sells for more than $900, someone is getting screwed.
Also that Cadillac has to be an 84 or 85- has the later grille and interior features. I bought the 81 that I have because it has the last available big block Cadillac ever made. Yes, the V8-6-4. What most don’t realize is that it’s almost identical to the 1980 6.0L without multi displacement. And you can turn off the cyl deactivation by cutting one wire. I have it on a switch. Yeah the deactivation still works perfectly if I decide to flip it on.
Another great walk through. Nothing really grabbed me except the Maxima but at that price, it would be a no for me. Can't have a winner winner chicken dinner everyday.
I own an 84 Cadillac Seville with the 4.1 183k miles and daily drive it every day, paid about 7k for it and go on long road trips in it a few times every once in a while in it and it never gave me any issue other than needing a new brake booster. It's a dice roll with that engine but I was lucky and got one that has been very well taken cared of and its practically bullet proof. Just don't let it overheat of course.
That Seville was top of the line! Bob Moore Cadillac was big on the trunk straps which resembled an old trunk on a coach wagon, about the same time the "carsen" top was popular, especially if it sat thru a hail storm!
Is it only me i love seeing whats wrong with every vehicle and if you can put them back on the road injoyable channel more videos please,👍✌️ cheers Stephen 🤠✌️
That was called the "abort back" Seville. The top is called a "sim con" or simulated convertible. The H.T 4100 couldn't even be used as a boat anchor, it wasn't heavy enough. Aluminum block.
The Nissan you said was out of gas that kept starting back up "despite having low fuel" I think it sounds more like a key transponder issue and the security is shutting it back off. If it was totally out if fuel it wouldn't keep starting back up. I think it's a security system issue.
Please do a video on the Taurus SHO. I absolutely love that style Taurus as that was the car I learned to drive in and got my license in too! My Dad's was a 96 Taurus GL in silver had the 3.0 24V and was basically the level under the SHO back for 96 model year of that run.
That mark 8 is very sought after, so next time grab it! I'd take the Cadillac for free... It's a viable LS swap. The 250-4R is the FWD version of the 200R4 (the torque converter is bolted to the flex plate, then there's a big chain going to the input shaft of the transmission that's mounted under the engine along with the diff) that went behind the turbo Buicks, so a stock LS would get it to scoot and still be 80s luxury.
bummer about the lincoln> maybe they won't expect the bid. miata hopefully will be saved. caddy is in such good shape. i hope you can get it. if i had the money i'd grab that subaru and fix it. maxima definetly grab it.
Actually those are purely for decoration. Supposed to emulate the belt buckles on the rear of an original “bustleback” that would have had a real actual trunk secured by thick straps with buckles.
$8K retail on the Seville? Maybe 20 years ago! It fits your “quacky” requirement but I’d be concerned about the smoking. There is the chance that it’s the EGR valve. I wouldn’t buy a Nisan with a CVT. I lost $4K on a 4 year old Nisan SUV 3 year ago so I would never risk it again. Peace, DrRick
The Seville, I'd drive it, but I'd still be embarrassed by that truck lid. If memory serves, the vinyl roofs were an answer to Washington telling them that there had to be a roll cage on convertibles. I believe that those were carriage straps on the trunk. I think that was supposed to be a smaller car because of mileage.
I love those old Cadillacs but that hood is so damn long I don't even think that would fit in my garage. My old Grand Marquis only had about 6 in to spare.
Back when I was younger our neighbor had a 1983 Seville it got stolen, they found the ca and he went to the dealer and got a 3 Diesel Badges and stuck them on the two front fenders and on the trunk. No one ever stole his car again. The Diesel 5.7L Oldsmobile was so bad even car thieves would say hell no also you could the keys in it they would walk by and pass.

Hello Randy. The Chrysler LHS is a good looking car. The Lincoln Mark Eight is a good looking car.
The Seville for the win, always liked that slant back trunk. The 4.1 HT4100 was too small for the big car.

It would be interesting to find a v-6 Cadillac Cimmaron. Like the Seville, was my childhood dream car. Odd huh? Lol! Have a grreat weekend everyone!

Reminds me of "The Breakfast Club" because "Allison" was dropped off in a blue Seville!
None of the cars are rusty in Oklahoma, so this might be worth $8k in New York where they all rusted away over 20 years ago.
Kind of wonder if that $8k retail is actually the msrp price back when it was new.

I'd drive the Seville. I had an 03 Deville. Loved that car.
Love that Seville😎 I hope you could act like a "Thief" 🤭and steal that old Caddy. Caan you do it?
Gotta love the American classics
Definitely
I would certainly drive that Seville!I ownd the 2 previous models this one was much tighter and more of a performer.
Beautiful Seville & Mercedes S class...wow.
I love the 2021 Elantra. My wife owned a 2000 and a 2010. Great Cars.
Love to see you resurrect the Miata cheap little fun project 👍🏽👍🏽
Love the Seville. The slant back trunk is quirky, but I've always liked it.
Randy, been there. Stepped on a fire ants nest barefoot.
Ouch 😣 I can’t imagine!!!

I don't think I've ever seen one of those Sevilles in a color other than blue.. Had a boss back then that owned a new one.
Love the caddy! Be nice to just remove the vinyl roof and buckles and paint it a solid color.
That Miata could make some great content! Finding the specialist to fix the roof! Etc..Hyandai good machine too.
Randy . This is the stuff I like . Affordable cars for the average Joe 😊where I don’t have to explain to my wife why I bought it . 😂
Love this comment 😂
U be PIMPIN in the Seville
i have a 2008 Nissan maxima, today i have owned mine 9 years and it runs like a top! havent even replaced my Transmission yet

I'd take that Caddy in a second. Always liked the look of that Seville.
I’d love to see the Seville and Miata on the channel!

I've always loved the Cadillac Seville Elegante 👌
I’m digging the Seville!
I love the 7879 saville the one the bell bonzman drove in Jackie brown
Love the Seville.
Can you do an update on the IN house when you go back?
That mx5 is calling for help
Thanks for updating us randy
Randy. Find a local PDR man, and tell him you'll promote him on TH-cam in exchange for him doing work for you on your cars. That Lincoln would be so easy for him to fix that door, and you could do a before and after. I see so many of those cars that I could PDR the heck out of but I live in Georgia.
That's good news that white Lincoln Mark 7 which luv to own with one of good motors by Blue Oval & 80s Chrysler Park Ave sold are going to good homes.
Believe it or not you can get more than 8K for the Caddy. Slab culture here in Texas, folks love those cars. Look up slab culture on TH-cam.
For the Caddy...gangsta LEAN! Stylin' and profilin'!
I wouldn’t want that Chrysler for free
There great and reliable vehicles the lhs is m favorite
Chrysler is just all around bad, I had a pt cruiser and it gave me nothing but problems glad I got rid of it.
@@Panicatthejazz pt cruisers were bad but the lhs was a great car same with 300 and town and counrtys

14:08 it’s a thing in houston they add belts an buckles because of how much bass would be rattling on slabs which is houston culture cars
The Caddy trunk had a fake spare tire holder that is what those brackets are for
Actually those are purely for decoration. Supposed to emulate the belt buckles on the rear of an original “bustleback” that would have had a real actual trunk secured by thick straps with buckles.
I’m here for that bustle back Seville 😮💨🤤😍
Randy don't treat that fire ant attack as just a boo boo. People I know have lost a leg and almost their life from infection.
Hey Randy!
Hi Chris!
I want to see that police cruiser behind the maxima!
I really enjoy your videos so thank you 💯💯🙏🏽🙏🏽
I’d rock that Seville for sure.
Seville is solid gold. I'd take it home and work on it.
I'm so Down for a Miata project! Surprisingly they're popular.
the trunk on the caddy is a reminder of the first caddy's in the early 1900 with travel trunk attached to it with straps
Randy, as of 2023, the Maxima still has the 3.5 V6 not to mention that 2023 is the last year of the ICE Maxima.
My favorite caddy ever made
The Seville is sweet. I have a 84 brougham with the 4100. I will likely pull it out and drop in a 350 chevy
I want that Lincoln next to that Chrysler!

The seats in the Blue Caddy are Valour a velvet like material
I love the Juke too.
You started it. The Cadillac is yours!
Vary awesome collection indeed . Keep up the great work. Okay.
I would drive that 82 caddie. My grandparents had one like this I think. Don't have many other memories of it because I was like 2.
Great channel question for you what ever happened to the Dodge Viper
Nice Video Randy
Back when I was younger our neighbor had a 1983 Seville it got stolen, they found the ca and he went to the dealer and got a 3 Diesel Badges and stuck them on the two front fenders and on the trunk. No one ever stole his car again. The Diesel 5.7L Oldsmobile was so bad even car thieves would say hell no also you could the keys in it they would walk by and pass.
Where is part 2 of the 600 Mercedes video? I can't wait to see that
had an 81 eldorado loved that car
Oh HELL NO on the Caddy
The back end of those Cadillac seville's was called the bustle back and they are definitely rare to find
You should try to get a bonded title for that Kia Forte
