      I just listened to a podcast where their latest episode had guys on there that were emotionally affected by Sasquatch sightings they had at that lake. One was back in 96 but the other was 2015! Very credible individuals. Should go listen. Its a very popular podcast named sasquatch chronicles. They are past 1k in episodes if that tells you anything about how in depth he goes on the subject. Its very real and you have to remember that social media is fairly new so lots of these sightings are making their way into oral history. Ive heard officers of every kind on there tell their interesting stories. Military, wildlife fishing and game officers etc come on the show and go more in depth to where you begin to understand more and put 2 and 2 together. I found this page because I wanted to see this lake and what kind of area surrounded it. Definitely lots of woods so I can only imagine what people have saw there over the years.

    You found another gem. How nice you could spend a day to take it all in. The lake color is so blue. I always love how a drone can catch whats around in the area from a higher view. The views are AMAZING. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks! That really striking blue color comes from all of the glacial silt that is washed down out of the mountains here. It's really something! We couldn't actually fly a drone for this one since all of this is within National Park/Wilderness boundaries. The view from above is actually just an overlook right off the side of the road!

      The color is really something else! This park actually has a lot of lakes that look like that, but this is one of the largest.

      We'd really love to go back with a 2nd paddle board or a kayak. You could spend the whole day exploring out on that blue water! Definitely check it out if you find yourself in NW Washington!

    How did you get the paddle board to the beach? Was it a steep walk? I have two hard kayaks we'd have to be carrying.

    • @NeverStopAdventuring
      @NeverStopAdventuring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can park at the Thunder Knob Trailhead on the side of the scenic highway. This is located just outside the Colonial Creek Campground. From here you can walk down to the water. It is very beautiful there! Have fun if you go!!

    Do you have to hike to get to Diablo lake or do you just drive up to a parking lot?

    • @NeverStopAdventuring
      @NeverStopAdventuring  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can park near the Thunder Knob Trailhead and then walk straight down to the beach. There are also other areas that offer boat rentals.

    Can you find parking easily over there without dragging your paddleboard like a mile or something? Thanks

      @@NeverStopAdventuring This looks great! We'll be in the cascades this weekend and will have our dog with us. It looks just a little too hot this weekend for him to hike, so wondering if this is an easily accessible spot for us to bring some chairs, a cooler, and swim around with out dog? Do we need a permit/pass for parking? Great video!

    • @NeverStopAdventuring
      @NeverStopAdventuring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@caitlinbauer7774 most places in North Cascades don't require a pass. In our Maple Pass trail video we needed one for parking at that trailhead, but not here at Thunder Knob. Sounds like this spot would be perfect for your plans. We paddleboarded there, brought food, and stayed most of the day. Thanks!
