  • Watch as the USA were on the wrong end of a Canadian masterclass in the opening match of the 2024 Pacific Four Series as the two sides fought it out at Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, California.
Although it was close at half-time, Canada pulled away from their North American counterparts in the second 40, with Sophie de Goede and Claire Gallagher both bagging braces as they hit 50 points

That second try should have been disallowed the number 7 is detached from the maul and just clearing the way, it was a clear penalty to the USA.

would have been a close match if the ref had of picked it up.

I'm very surprised that my Eagles looked so disappointingly incompetent. For a while now I've felt "Well, at least our Women still put on a good show". I may have to reassess.
I'm hoping it's just a case of rust due to the lacl of matches.
    Well done Canada!

Deliberately striking a player lying on the ground is a red card every day of the week plus a lengthy suspension. The ref failed the Canadian team and rugby generally by not imposing more than a penalty.

US player was striking the ball in the hope of preventing a try, TMO and refs. agreed , so it is , plus the players themselves were in agreement of the accidental contact...

Maybe cuz they didn’t make the team yet. You have to understand these girls are the best in Canada. If they could’ve picked 80 players I’m sure they would of had a couple indigenous players. Stop making it about race and just enjoy what your watching.

Gotta hand it to the womens rugby, they sure learn quick. I do hope the American women and men are given the financial support they deserve from the insane amount of billionaires and millionairesn in America today.. That would change the whole dynamics in American sports viewership. Americans are hardwired sports nuts and love winners and when the love is massive the sport has an unlimited financial resource. There economy dwarfs any other nation/s so I hope they get behind these women athletes asap. It would be an investment that would be self sustaining. Well done Canada. Great game from both.
