I think it's implied that Paptimus Scirocco's psychic attack is what destroyed Camille, but I actually think that it's actually a misdirection. I think that Scirocco's attack was actually blocked by the Newtypes who connected with Camille, and they gave to Camille what he always wanted. Camille never wanted to fight and previously always just wanted love and connection with people. At about the middle point of the show Camille got drug through the emotional mud of war and by the mid-end point of the show he has become super delusional, even telling Fa some seriously disturbing comments eluding to him disconnecting from himself, and accepting a role for himself out of his own emotionally shattered and delusional state of mind. Camille at the very end is Camille returning to himself. Sure, he definitely seems amnesiac, but he seems happy and more the Camille he was before the war started.
@@cosmicturban2797 As much as I loved Unicorn, I have to give the edge to Zeta. Is that *really* Sunrise's fault? Given that Tomino dipped in and out of Depression issues between _Ideon_ (1980-81) and _Char's Counterattack_ (1988); isn't it more likely that the _Zeta_ Movies are his attempt to "redeem" the storyline? Really summarizes most of UC Gundam in general. Earth Federation is corrupt, so the Zabi's and later Delaz use violence to try to change it, which leads to the Titans, which leads to the AEUG, which create the power vacuum for Neo Zeon to fill, which then continues off and on until Char's Rebellion. Then the Sleeves, and Mafty later on. Violence and War only beget more of the same, and it takes true courage to lay down the weapons and seek peace.
@@perotekku It's more like, Earth Federation is corrupt, zeon tries to use violence to change it, fails, Earth Federation engineer a false flag by dropping a colony on Earth, Titans form, AEUG forms as result of Titan atrocities. Honestly, I don't actually think that Zeta was more mature than the 1979 original. Part of the charm of this franchise is that it has actually done a wonderful job of having surprisingly deep themes. One of my favorite scenes in the original Gundam was when Amuro meets his mother in a field hospital on earth, and two Zeon soldiers arrive. There was a lot that was said in this scene in a remarkably tight package. I also felt the same way when Amuro meets Ramba Ral for the first time, and Ral casually lifts his pancho to find Amuro clutching a pistol under his belt, and just nods. I watched Zeta first, and I was expecting a "kiddy" experience when I went back to the first MSG, and was thoroughly surprised by the emotional and psychological depth from the very first episode. The original show's strongest theme in and of itself was about becoming mature in the midst of an uncompromising situation.
Because it was not. In 079 Amuro whined for 1 episode. In Zeta all characters whining for f**king at least 50. There are pointless fights with some unrealistic TransGundamFormers. All young characters do same mistakes 4-5 times. Camille screams 'I cannot just kill people!' and letting his sexual interests go when killing literally hundreds of Zion men and do not gives a f. The plot is very weak and repeats both 079 and Zeta ideas for 2-10 times during the show. For example, Four literally died twice. Nevertheless. first episodes until they leave Earth for the first time is fine + 2 last episodes are also ok.
I'd say its actually less mature in many ways. The main thing that comes to mind is the villains and their motivations. Zeon on top of being just so aesthetically cool were fighting for independence and had a cool old world charm. Its only later when Gihran Zabi opens up to his father do you see what a psycho he is and even his own father seems to find it distasteful. The titans literally just start punching everyone in the face so you know they're the bad guys. I think the idea of the earth federation abusing its power was good they just expressed it in juvenile ways.
Thank you! I tried to talk not only about the events but also the character developments and defining story elements. I's really a great show... but with that said, ZZ is a weird series that I still don't know what angle I want to explore hahah.
Haha it's not thaaaat bad... it get's way better in the second half of the series, and even though I prefer Zeta's mecha design, ZZ is a much more complex and bulky mobile suit design. Haman is also a great character.
I feel zz gets a bad reputation because people focus too much on the negatives also I see the initial stage of zz as in how Judah and co see the situation they are in, until later on in the second half of the serie where they realize the world is much darker than the rose tinted view they had, also zz had one of the biggest problems an anime can have, the author having big personal problems and also missing voice actors Which contributed in dragging down zz. So yes zz is flawed but is in itself a decent serie
oh.. and it might have been beneficial in the background to explain the 30 bunch incident which was a major catalyst to the formation of the resistance to Titans, when they nerve gassed an entire colony and killed 30 million people for anti-federation demonstrations. People often equate it with Zion atrocities like Operation British, but IMHO it is much much worse, as the latter atleast happened during a war, whereas the former was in peace times.
I agree. Probably the hardest transition to make back in 1987 was how dramatically the Federation fell to the corruption and evil of the Titans. Stardust Memory shows us how that evil started, and how it festered. It starts with the violation of the Antarctic Treaty's prohibition on atomic weapons. We see politics play out in Jaburo, with Kowen's faction becoming the fall guys for Federation blunders. When Stardust gets kicked off at Kompei Island and the Naval Review gets nuked, we see the desire for vengeance take hold; Monsha's torture of the Zeon POW in the lower decks of the Albion show us that this isn't a very principled Federation anymore. They cut deals with ruthless criminals like Cima Garahau. By the end of the story, we see folks like Nakohha Nakato start to appear, guys who are willing to pull guns on their own, just to advance the takeover. We see the ruthlessness of Bosk Om as a Federation officer, who uses that Solar System to shoot both Zeon and Federation alike...anything to advance the coup. By the time Stardust Memory ends, we have Kou in a Kangaroo court, Bosk Om and Jamotiov taking their respective places as leaders of the Titans task force, and the transition was complete.
Calling the humor of the first chunk of ZZ stupid hurt me though, haha. I can definitely see someone getting whiplash if they jumped straight from Zeta to ZZ; I watched a few of the OVAs before ZZ, so that helped things settle in my head a bit and cleanse my palate. Not having the expectation of simply being more Zeta lets you enjoy ZZ for what it wants to be, and I think the initial wacky tone contrasts incredibly with the way the main characters mature and deal with the brutal war they're sucked into. And no one will ever tell me that "I'm Judau Ashta and I'm ... cutting class" isn't the funniest thing that anyone in Gundam has ever said.
Hahah ZZ Gundam probably is not that bad as people like to think... I believe the problem is that with Zeta's ending we were all expecting for ZZ to be suuuper serious and dense but Tomini went for a full 180 turn. And even though I loved the super eighties style of Chara, I really didn't appreciate the first half of the series... but as a whole I did liked it. As a matter of fact, I would really love for a compilation movie that removed some of the slapstick humor of the first episodes (you know... all of the bizarre encounters with early Mashymre Cello) and actually told us what was Char doing with Neo Zeon.
God I do love this show. So much depth in it's Mobile Suit designs, as well as the main characters. Just completed a fourth rewatch last night. Ending is very haunting.
Just discovered this video while assembling one of my gunplas. Completely agreed on the love for Zeta, and completely agreed in the charade that was ZZ. And all the video without even mentioning some of the side stories that I loved so much when I watched the show, like what happened to Fraw, the orphans, Kai, La Vie en Rose, Heneken... Zeta is for me the best Gundam show by a far margin, and still the excuse to watch other Gundam shows even when their quality is not exactly at their highest
The BEST Gundam series hands down! From the characters, storylines, BGM, Opening and Ending Theme. The series would later lay the foundation for series like Gundam Seed, some might even say, Kira Yamato is a clone of Kamile Bidan >.
"The ANTI-EARTH Union Group is definitely not a terrorist group, I swear. We would never drop a colony or asteroid on Earth." Maybe they should have picked a different name. Perhaps something related to Olympus or the Greek gods if they are a specifically Anti-Titan group.
The more Gundam we see, the more important Anaheim Electronics becomes to the Universal Century. There is no talk of Anaheim in the original Gundam. Zeta is when we first get introduced to it. Double Zeta makes Anaheim people really important to the plot. In Stardust Memory, Anaheim is portrayed as having its own agenda. And Unicorn? It basically unmasks Anaheim as a greater villain than either the Federation, or Zeon, or anyone ever was.
My favorite Gundam season. Didn't pull punches and instead loved to twist the knife. Kamille is still my favorite pilot and Char is such a Bro in this season.
A bit of Zeta Gundam triva: The Final Mystery of Z--according to the background materials, the Titans had a huge base in New Guinea. The Aldomura (w/Kamille on board) originally intended to attack the base, but for some reason, was diverted to Hong Kong. So, what was going on in New Guinea during the bulk of the War? Had to have been something important or AEUG/Karaba wouldn't have considered raiding it. The other Mystery takes place during Ep.#36 of the TV Series; the attack on Killimanjaro. There is a close-up of a computer screen near the end of the ep.; on the screen is a scrolling list of all the Cyber-Newtypes controlled by the Titans. The last to appear is Kim Kerin "No.3", who operated out of the Titans' facility at Pyongyang, Korea. Kim does not appear anywhere in the show (I have no idea if she appears in any of the spinoff manga.), and I always wondered what happened to her. Such is the stuff of fanfiction, I suppose...

Zeta is great and I love it. It's right up there with 0079 as S-rank Gundam. One thing, however, that I noticed is that it didn't seem particularly well planned out. I feel like this is a problem with a lot of 80s anime, especially from Sunrise. There's a lot of things that should have been explained better. There's a lot of side characters who don't contribute much to the story. There's a lot of subplots that go nowhere or character arcs that abruptly end. Take Jerrid for example. I really expected him to be the Char to Camille's Amuro, but Jerrid never came off as a threat, let alone a rival to Camille. He was constantly incompetent, yet still was treated like he was an ace by the Titans. He didn't even rise to the occasion at the end, dying pretty unceremoniously. The first OP really made it seem like the original side characters from 0079 would play a big part in the show. But they pretty much made glorified cameos then disappeared. If Sunrise and Tomino knew those characters wouldn't be used, why even feature them in the opening? And, like I said, I feel that in a lot of Sunrise anime from the 80s. I really enjoyed Dragonar, but I question why they even bothered creating 3 main pilots when 2 of them could have been written out without having much of an effect on the story. Or how the love interest (the surrogate Sayla) doesn't really do much apart from be the love interest to the hero and sister of the surrogate Char. I assume Sunrise was pretty chaotic at the time, based on the ridiculous amount of anime they produced in the 80s. So maybe the writing was more of a seat of the pants situations and the shows were not well planned before they started pencil to paper.
W o w , describing the ending of the movie trilogy as a scenario happening in Camille's mind..... Damn. That's a brutal, twisted and extremely interesting theory. I really liked it. Great video👌
Review gundam wing and how weird and extra it is. Loved it as a kid. Watched it again recently and I'm shocked at how ludacris the plot and everything in its universe is 😂
@@JackTulsen77 Mobile suits and atmosphere where nailed, and that is why I have fond nostalgic memories of it. But for a Gundam series, the characters are pretty one-dimensional, like un-Gundam like little development. Also a bit to self-endulgent all around the Operation Meteor / OZ / honour part. Make's Treize Khushrenada look cool initially, but it doesn't take a lot of maturing to realize he is an absolute douchebag and his complete character is based on feasting on teenage edgyness. It's not bad, but imho you are missing out A LOT OF AMAZING stuff if you keep yourself limited to GW.
Really enjoying your retrospectives on these. I agree that second only to the original series, Zeta is probably the most important Gundam series in the broad scheme of things. It's still one of my favorite anime series', even if I will admit that there's plenty about it that maybe hasn't aged as well as some other parts, which is why I was really let down by New Translation's lost potential as a fully updated, streamlined retelling of the series (rather than the weird hodge podge of new animation with old clips and this disjointed attempt to condense the TV series' narrative.). It's a sobering story about how many of the dynamics of the power structure in the Universal Century still went unresolved by the end of the original series, as happy an ending as it was. Also Zeta itself is just an awesome design. I definitely think, if possible, you should cover Double Zeta as well. It might be one of the most divisive Gundam series' of all time (though to be fair, Zeta isn't everyone's cup of tea as well.) but I think it was really important in its own way. It might not have pleased die hard fans at the time, but its appeal to younger viewers (at least initially) did open up Gundam to a whole new age group of Japanese kids who cut their teeth on ZZ, and went in to see the rest from there. I'd say ZZ laid the ground work for Gundams' potentially broader appeal, which for better or for worse is an important milestone. Plus these days, I kind of appreciate the brief tonal whip lash as a break from Zeta's bleak af end. To me, it's seeing things from the new perspective of Judau and the other kids, who in time catch on to the dire stakes of the whole situation as the tone corrects itself back to something more in line with Zeta over time. It's still got plenty of problems and things I wish had gone differently (I strongly feel Amuro should have had a larger role, if ANY role in this series, to show how he got over his fear of space. It feels like there was a whole story related to Amuro's growth from that lost young man he was in Zeta to the grounded leader he is by CCA that we missed out on. I do still also wish Kamille's recovery was a larger plot point and that maybe he returned...but at the same time him exiting stage right makes sense. Also the whole Dublin incident is just a mess imo.) It's funny too that as we see in Unicorn, ZZ has potentially some of the most messed up background plot elements hidden within its mostly lighter tone.
ZZ became pretty dark halfway, like even darker than Zeta. I will also keep proclaiming it has of the best action scene's in the original UC TV series.
I agree about the importance of Zeta. If Zeta didn't work, Gundam would have ended right then and there, and we'd have nothing else. The mecha genre advanced so much in those years between MS Gundam and Zeta, the series had to adapt to what was going on, or the fans would forget about Gundam just like Manzinger and Yamato. So many new stories like SDF Macross and Five Star Stories upped the ante considerably. Newer, more elegant designs were needed, including transformables. Edgier characters were needed, especially women. Better animations and fight scenes were needed. And Zeta delivered on all fronts, probably saving the franchise.
This is what I am watching now, about 30 episodes in I think. The early episodes really are an unfocused chore and Kamille is utterly insufferable. Worse, I have no idea why the characters are doing things, why they are going places and what they're plans are. It is just too much a fight of the week. Out of nowhere we visit a gassed colony where Lieutenant Emma realízes the real brutality of the titans. Then we're back to random fights, then the trap at the old Federation headquarters, then more random fights, then two separate female cyber newtypes for Kamille to face and lose. Thus far the writing of Zeta Gundam Define is far superior. More info on the mobile suit designs, actual intrigue, plotting, schemes, and strategy. Everything has a purpose. Although I hear the final third of the anime is really good so looking forward to it.
Amazing Absha, really Idk about this serie of GUNDAM, recently I noticed the first serie in Crunchy but was unsure to watch due the other sequels or spin-offs. But now this proto-bizarre Jojo GUNDAM gave me the sense of beginning this serie and later enjoy the first. Ufff too minutes but worth it ;v
Definitely give the first series a watch! That's definitely the best way to get a taste of Gundam without the hassle of figuring anything else out, haha.
Haha there really IS a ghost pilot in UC... but I won't spoil. The first series is slow... but to understand the world and maybe even the whole franchise, at some point you need to watch the first series. GundamInfo had the first movie trilogy in their YT page for a time... I don't know if it's still available.
It seems that they are not available but for the moment i'm gonna watch the first serie through Crunchy. I'm interested in meka's designs because they reminded me to classic Mazinger Z and Mazinkaiser (not SKL) lolololol. I love the history of anime, which trascends until nowaday
So because i'm such a Gundam n00b, I went ahead and watched 'A New Translation' instead of the show. But I did watch some of the actual episodes and this video for more context. Before watching Zeta, I watched the original 0079 trilogy movies. I can safely say I'm up to speed with the whole gundam saga now leading up to Char's Counterattack. I also had no issues understanding the latest UC movie Hathaway.
alternate headcanon for you, Absa. they made the zeta trilogy films as a means to retcon ZZ out of existence. with Camille keeping his mind intact, there's no way for Judau to inherit the Zeta and the mission... whereas the rest of the conflict will now be handled through Camille's help instead of Judau.
Great video! I am curious how your Gundam ZZ video will go, as I absolutely despise it with the passion of a thousand suns. I will never stop seething about Gundam ZZ, for the rest of my life.
Why? I get the first half. I don’t like it much myself. But the series gets pretty good during the latter half, and I absolutely love the moments between Haman and Judau; their philosophical debate during their final fight is truly fascinating. Amuro and Char’s debate was much more personal, mixed in with grand ideas. Whereas you can tell that Haman and Judau don’t hold that same level of personal animosity (the series makes it clear that Haman thinks of Judau as the person she wishes she could have been; there’s also some weird romantic attachment there) so it’s all grand ideas. Judau sees Haman for her potential; what she could have been. She could have United the Earth sphere peacefully. It’s one of my favorite Gundam debates.
I honestly think AEUG is a lot better than you give them credit for--how could they not be, when their opponents are Space Nazis/NKVD?!?--really, their shadiest actions are how tied they are to Anahiem Electronics. AE is really the "unsung villain" of the UC period--they are pre-WW1 Krupp Arms. They'll build MS for _anybody,_ and War is simply the fastest way to make maximum profit. _Stardust Memories_ drives this home when AE built the series of Gundams for the Federation...and when the Feds didn't want all of them, AE rebuilt the last one and turned around and sold it to the *Delaz Fleet!* That's some serious Balls, business-wise!
I finished Z recently and I’ll say that I found the whole Katz story super sad. You see it coming from mikes which in a way makes it more painful to watch
The "Kill 'em All" Tomino moniker WAS NOT earned by _Zeta Gundam._ Tomino had done a cast wipeout at the end of _Aura Battler Dunbine_ a couple years before. Though the real roots of the nickname came from his tenure on the infamous _Space Runaway IDEON_ (1980-81), which had the most savage ending episodes in all mecha anime. WOMEN & CHILDREN of the cast were regularly targeted by the bad guys...and while some fought, most were *slaughtered*, literally onscreen, in graphic death scenes that never been seen in a mecha show to that date. The bad guys bought it equally hard by the end, in what turned out to be a galaxy-wide mutual annihilation.
I liked that they showed Zeon remnets since i watcted this before Stardust but then they ruined it in double zeta by revealing that the Mineva that Hamman had, wasen't the real Mineva... That really pissed me off
I didn't find Char's character arc satisfying in this series and I was sure he would be developed more and have more exposition later, but now I put on Char's Counter Attack and he seems like a completely different character and the whole deal with Haman and Mineva was handled in ZZ without him. Super dissapointed.
Zeta is great proven that Seed Destiny trying to copy some aspects of Zera but failed miserably. How about UC side stories? For weird reason I really enjoyed them. Especially 08 MS Team because it reminds me of my hometown,
The one side story I really want to see either Translated or Animated is _*Advance of Zeta*!_ It's 3x connected manga mini-series that combine to cover A LOT of "non-main character" action going on during the Zeta War. I think they may have done a Light Novel or two to support it as well.
Truly a phenomenal show! Although, it's not as perfect as you make out to be. Let's be real, if the show was reduced to 30 or 26 episodes, it would improve the overall experience, by cutting down the" filler" (fights that happen for no reason and end in a draw, the entire plotline with the girl with purple hair - that was just Four Murasame, but worse And for the third time! - and the one with Jerid's second fridged girlfriend, etc.) And letting the story focus on the important parts.
I agree with you on Rosamia Badam. She started off as an interesting character back on Earth, but it was hard to take her seriously in the second half. I have to disagree about Mouar Pharaoh. Losing her was the thing that send Jerid off the deep end.
I think Teetahnz is pronounced like that because it's supposed to be french. The "z" or "zu" sound at the end doesn't quite correspond but french is the one that sounds the closest to the way it's spoken in the show. Kamille Bidan I think is also supposed to be a french name so I think that's what they were going for.
Yes, I may be wrong but I read in the wiki that Tomino took inspiration from the French woman sculptor Camille Claudel for Kamille. Then you can find plenty of references to France in Gundam: the space base La vie en rose is named after the song of the famous French singer Edith Piaf, Char Aznable is a tribute to the French singer Charles Aznavour... and I noticed a painting by Renoir in ep 8.
@@tedhodge4830 Yeah, I read it too. And he said interesting things about Camille Claudel and Rodin's relationship looking a bit like Kamille and Zeta's relationship (the translation made it awkward)

Maybe Judau is stronger in terms of raw power but Kamille is the better newtype pilot that can utilize super robot powers before unicorn or turn A can reset the battlefield.
That's right, baby! Also, a bit of (now well-known) trivia: American singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka composed the two OP for Zeta. He later rewrote and released the first OP as a single "Better Days Are Coming."
I consider this the Empire Strikes Back of Universal Century Gundam. Not only did it established some of the tropes present in later entries, but in terms of its own story, nobody really ever wins in Zeta Gundam, and that is something few entries down the line could ever replicate.
The problem with Zeta Gundam is Chars Attack which completely hardcore ignores/contradicts Zeta Gundam and everything kind of goes off Chars counterattack (except ZZ) which practically takes Z out of canon

The name probably needs to be pronounced "Camill-ah", that might of been the reasoning behind it but I'm sure there is an obscure paper somewhere in Japan that gives all the details. I first watched it in the English Dub and I figured Camilla is the closest sounding female name that would match Kamille.
Yoshiyuki Tomino confirmed that it was based on the French sculptor Camille Claudel. Quote: "I started getting serious around February of '84. The name Kamille Bidan appeared in my memos around June, and by that point it was definitely serious. Discussion of the next project for the following year would happen around June or July. In order to firm up the plan by then, I'd been searching for a name for the protagonist since the end of spring. I ended up with the name of Camille Claudel, an apprentice of the sculptor Rodin. When I learned about her personal history, I decided to use Camille as a man's name. In fact, everything about the character of Camille Claudel was transferred over to Kamille Bidan. " Translator's Note: These interviews and comments from some of Z Gundam's main creators appeared in the laser disc Mobile Suit Z Gundam Memorial Box Part 1, released in February 1994. The interview with Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hideaki Anno, recorded in November 1993, makes for an interesting comparison with their conversation in the July 1994 issue of "Animage" magazine. You can find a translation of that interview on the Wave Motion Cannon website.

Is that *really* Sunrise's fault? Given that Tomino dipped in and out of Depression issues between _Ideon_ (1980-81) and _Char's Counterattack_ (1988); isn't it more likely that the _Zeta_ Movies are his attempt to "redeem" the storyline? evil begets evil, The Titans are a direct result from the actions of 0083's Stardust.
Like, 99.999999999% of the problems in UC stem from the Earth Federation.
@@perotekkuHowever, Cosmo Babylon and Zanscare are borderline giant space fleas in this scenario; but they do lead to CONSENT if you consider G-Saviour canon.

It's easy, in one word; garbage.
@@federicofilippini6780 why would they have to worry about voice actors when it's not an anime? I know, very original
oh.. and it might have been beneficial in the background to explain the 30 bunch incident which was a major catalyst to the formation of the resistance to Titans, when they nerve gassed an entire colony and killed 30 million people for anti-federation demonstrations. People often equate it with Zion atrocities like Operation British, but IMHO it is much much worse, as the latter atleast happened during a war, whereas the former was in peace times.
Stardust memory is actually pretty key to Zeta if you want to really understand the Titans.
Not particularly, it was written afterwards by different writers and directors.
If you think the Titans were bad, wait till you’re introduced to the Zanscare Empire from Victory Gundam. Great review!

Oh, yes, this is beautiful.
I’ve gotta watch zeta now....
Haha it's a must watch if you like Gundam... but you should really check out the first series to get to know the world.

Shinn is even more of a Kamille clone but in a different way
I'm not even really a "Gundam fan", but I think Zeta Gundam and Kammille's character arc is a masterpiece.
"The ANTI-EARTH Union Group is definitely not a terrorist group, I swear. We would never drop a colony or asteroid on Earth."
Maybe they should have picked a different name. Perhaps something related to Olympus or the Greek gods if they are a specifically Anti-Titan group.
This was so well thought out and articulate! Thanks for covering one of my favorite series of all time!
We don't talk that on Jerid around these parts
The A.E.U.G. being beholden to "investors" make you question the intentions of Anaheim Electronics and whoever else is supporting the protagonists.

Also the whole Dublin incident is just a mess imo.)
It's funny too that as we see in Unicorn, ZZ has potentially some of the most messed up background plot elements hidden within its mostly lighter tone.

Interesting take on the movies and how they fit into the canon.

- and the one with Jerid's second fridged girlfriend, etc.) And letting the story focus on the important parts.

may u see the....tears of time
ok I will not watch this vid until I've seen zeta.
I just binged thunderbolt btw.
can i get the linkfor the pic or the artist for 27:37?
Sure, the artist name's takeda yuuko.
The Greeks pronounced Titans “teeh-tans”. The English pronunciation is the weird one actually.
Considering they pronounce Ryu as rhye-you and stick with that mistake.
Anglos are infamous for mispronouncing latin words.
Greeks would have said 'tee-tah-nehs'. Sounds pretty much the same in spanish. Titans sounds more french if you ask me.
@@MetalShinS0lid in spanish Is Titanes without the e (e latin, no e anglo wich Is e and i for latin sound for certains moments) reading Titans. In French idk maybe something like just Ti lol some words in French are worse than anglo words for a hispanic like me.
I love Zeta Gundam. But I also love UC in its entirety.
I hated Zeta, too much drama and information. it's a little bit hard to understand, but nice vídeo, your narration is very good
lol bright noa incorruptable? 👀
The name probably needs to be pronounced "Camill-ah", that might of been the reasoning behind it but I'm sure there is an obscure paper somewhere in Japan that gives all the details. I first watched it in the English Dub and I figured Camilla is the closest sounding female name that would match Kamille.
Camille is actually a french name that can be used for boys and girls... But maybe Tomino didn't knew.
@@absa Great catch, thanks for that bit of info.
Hard to know forsure unless he spoke on it in a past interview.
Translator's Note: These interviews and comments from some of Z Gundam's main creators appeared in the laser disc Mobile Suit Z Gundam Memorial Box Part 1, released in February 1994.
The interview with Yoshiyuki Tomino and Hideaki Anno, recorded in November 1993, makes for an interesting comparison with their conversation in the July 1994 issue of "Animage" magazine. You can find a translation of that interview on the Wave Motion Cannon website.
The best Gundam besides Turn A.
But do you believe in a sign of Zeta?
Zambot 3, Ideon, and Dunbine are all even more kill em all than Zeta.
