    Just discovered your channel...love it! So informative and I admire your strict regime and hard work. (Retired dairy farmer Robert)

    tip, next time u programm a route like this, follow wall near 1/2meter to the edge, then new point "straight end", so the discovery can manage turn by itself some time it will be 50cm some time it can be up 95cm when it is slippery

    Great videos ! Do those”kennel” /semi-outdoor cubicles up against the stone wall get mucky in wet weather?

    • @keanefamilyfarm
      @keanefamilyfarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a mil John 😃 Not unless there’s torrential driving rain, they stay dry for the most part. The Lely scraping in front of them on a consistent basis helps also 😊
      We’re very happy with them.

    Nice job any problems with cows once a day , SCC , mastitis etc

    • @keanefamilyfarm
      @keanefamilyfarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Michael 😊 No not too bad. SCC is staying around 90-100 so we are happy with that. We actually just treated a heifer this morning because she had one quarter that is high SCC but apart from that not too bad. Hopefully it stays that way 👍🏼

    What speed is your discovery doing? Turn it up to 300 if it's not already

    • @keanefamilyfarm
      @keanefamilyfarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tip John, I don’t think she’s up at 300 at all.. probably why that job took us half the day 😅

    What is your personal opinion about this robotic scrapping. Is it effective? Will it do it alone with out any human intervention?

    • @keanefamilyfarm
      @keanefamilyfarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Alex 😊 We personally love the robotic scrapper. It has saved us a lot of time, money & hardship! We used to manually scrape the passageways and it was very labour intensive.
      The robot suits our system because all our passageways have slats so it can keep the place very clean. We also find the cows are cleaner as a result because they are not dragging dung up onto cubicles with their feet.
      The odd time the robot will get stuck & we will have to manually drive it back to it’s charging station but this only happens about once a month and is usually as a result of us not cleaning the sensors or a cow pulling out silage in it’s way.
      Apart from that, it will work away without much human intervention at all 👍🏼
      I hope that answers your question 😊
