yeah the speedrunner method of placing a block on a lengthways side of the bed between you and the bed is much better, but you do need to be standing close to the bed.
here's a tip: you can knock off the ripened pods of Chorus plants and replace them with Chorus Flowers and the plant will keep growing. then when those Flowers ripen/stop growing, you can do it again, and again, and grow your Chorus plants as tall as you like and w/ many many branches very useful, game changing

So glad that you posted this at such a perfect time because my 45 y/o dad played minecraft for the first time yesterday and absolutely fell in love with the experience. So much so that he stayed up until 2 last night playing on his survival world. Minecraft really is for everyone!

yeah the speedrunner method of placing a block on a lengthways side of the bed between you and the bed is much better, but you do need to be standing close to the bed.

here's a tip: you can knock off the ripened pods of Chorus plants and replace them with Chorus Flowers and the plant will keep growing. then when those Flowers ripen/stop growing, you can do it again, and again, and grow your Chorus plants as tall as you like and w/ many many branches

Personally, I saved a hotbar with every kind of block that you only get through a command. (barrier block/spawner/structure block...)
And i find it very usefull ^-^

Hold the space bar when you’re directly underneath the slab, so that you’re directly up against the slab.
Also, stonk up on fire resistance
no need to get more than 1, because you can use redstone to get it to 8 minutes. if that's not enough then you can use a second one.
I use that 30.27 trick for finding sunken cities and ships. However its y63 and you can justt use a boat in f5 to angle your vision like that. Best part is we dont need to look to steer anymore. So its just as effective to paddle around in.
