How many times have you seen a man the size of buddy run half the field and kick the goal from 50m out, on the angle and at full sprint. Then do it again. One of the greatest goals ever.
@J G Soccer is the most boring game in the world. 1 - 0 at the end of the game, or even 0 - 0 wtf! So boring. The crowds entertain themselves. They rip off chairs. Set off flares. Start a fight and so on. So uncivilised.
Mr darcy needs to work on his call.... one of the greatest plays in AFL history and all i hear is darcy running out of breath... Dennis Commeti's call was much better
I love watching the Essendon defender busting his ass to keep up and Buddy looks like he is casually strolling just like “Oh hey mate! Didn’t realize you were there”
@damianrwhite "buddy's a handy goal sneak", yeah and the Beatles wrote a couple of lucky hits. The key to trolling is not putting too much bait on the line.
@damianrwhite It's pretty obvious he's a Key Forward. An All Australian one at that. And if you honestly think he kicks 'most of his goals' opportunistically, you need to pay more attention.
@damianrwhite But you've never seen someone 6 feet 5 do it twice in four minutes. Once is great, twice is amazing. I was there that night and it was breathtaking. I suspect you are being deliberately provocative. Love your taste in music though. I love Tom Waits almost as much as I love Buddy!!!
@thescabman champ, if he's not a handy goal sneak then what exactly is he? he struggles to mark the ball (even against opponents half his size) and most of his goals are opportunistic goalsneak type goals.
@thescabman the reason that he was selected at CHF in AA team is because he is tall and the genuine centre half forwards missed too many games through injury. He is a all tall flanker who needs a key forward next to him to perform at his best.
@jwatsontas if you are judging it as a stand alone goal, which goals of the week, year etc are, it cannot be judged as part of a sequence. Buddy is a very handy goal sneak and and extraordinary athlete. Not in the best 150 players i have seen though.
@damianrwhite The reason he was selected at CHF is because he's one of the best players in the comp. It's that simple. It has nothing to do with other players, it has to do with Buddy. The comment about needing a key forward next to him is just silly. He's one of the best 'one out' forwards in the league, which is why so many teams chose to zone off other forwards just to get two and three opponents around him when he's deep in the arc.
poor Hooker, had the 2010 goal of the year kicked on him, then in 2011 had Walker take what should of been mark of the year, at least his in the highlight reel i suppose.
Gary Lyon at 2.14 "What about LJ Hooker the poor bugger!" Classic. The only thing that ruins this is Luke Darcy's monotone dribble. JB should have gone solo or would have been good if BT hadn't left or Rex was there instead.
@datswotimtknbout i am not saying it didn't deserve to be goal of the year, it may have, thouigh i reckon it should have beaten for goal of the week by Richmond's Shane Edwards. I just believe a lot of people have some crazy man love for Buddy and everything he does gets pumped up beyond belief. I have seen countless better goals.
Can only wonder had Franklin not left Hawthorn how many more Flags he and The Hawks would have bad on his ability and the other talent that was around as well? But he left for a woman and money and his ego and the dispute he and Clarkson had in Vegas. He is talented but also is all about me and that is not the culture at Hawthorn.
That was an amazing goal No doubt!!!! I loved how he tried that against the western Bulldogs i think it was the next week..... Thank Fuck he failed!!!! a loss is bad enough but a goal like that would be a slap in the face to a team who is in the top 4
@haggspah i'm judging it as a stand alone goal as it should be judged. I've spoken to quite a few people who were there that night and they all say it was one of the greatest goals they have ever seen but personally i have seen countless better goals. Amazing effort for a bloke of his size but he was running away from a blonk and basically had nobody between him and the goal, great goal, nothing more nothing less.
Interested to know what people think of this "freak" now? Had the ball kicked to him 28 times against North and won zero contests, his opponent marked 9 of them. As I have always said he is a very good goalsneak, nothing more.
hey remember that time he kicked thirteen goals against that scummy North Melbourne? Reckon he won a few contests during that game. I guess he was playing on the biggest flog in the AFL, Scott Thompson though
Unbelievable. Prime Buddy Franklin was too good to even comprehend
Between 2007-2014, Buddy kicked 609 goals in 173 games averaging 3.5 goals per game
How many times have you seen a man the size of buddy run half the field and kick the goal from 50m out, on the angle and at full sprint. Then do it again. One of the greatest goals ever.
haahha Brayshaw, " Ohh noo, no....... NOOOO. No way! " ahahha classic.
Always reminds me of steve carrell😂😂
That second goal still gives me chills.
The best part is that Jordan Lewis is also the one who gave Franklin the ball both times
Love the last two seconds of commentary... "That is a man dead set TAKING IT!!!"
@J G Soccer is the most boring game in the world. 1 - 0 at the end of the game, or even 0 - 0 wtf! So boring. The crowds entertain themselves. They rip off chairs. Set off flares. Start a fight and so on. So uncivilised.
love how the goal umpire is trying not to grin after the 2nd goal
Darcy didn’t do this justice
Mr darcy needs to work on his call.... one of the greatest plays in AFL history and all i hear is darcy running out of breath... Dennis Commeti's call was much better
+Luke Mitchell I agree. The pencil neck Darcy doesn't get exicted enough.
"That is a man... DEADSET TAKING IT" 😂😂
I love watching the Essendon defender busting his ass to keep up and Buddy looks like he is casually strolling just like “Oh hey mate! Didn’t realize you were there”
@damianrwhite the space in your head is vast. The goal is utterly exraordinary.
i wish jb called the play!
Watching this after his 1000th. Love that it was his best mate jordan lewis who set him up for both goals
when he isn't taking a dive
wow
@damianrwhite "buddy's a handy goal sneak", yeah and the Beatles wrote a couple of lucky hits.

who won
Goal of the Year...officially!
If I was commentating i would of let loose and said something like "THAT IS FUCKING UNBELIEVABLE"
This kind of magic deserves full emotion
Brayshaw: NOOOOOOOOO
@MrYub it was actually jake carlisle who walker took that mark over
@damianrwhite But you've never seen someone 6 feet 5 do it twice in four minutes.
Once is great, twice is amazing. I was there that night and it was breathtaking. I suspect you are being deliberately provocative. Love your taste in music though. I love Tom Waits almost as much as I love Buddy!!!
Get outta here Budweiser
***** what about LJ Hooker, the poor bugger
goal umpire's face is priceless
@thescabman champ, if he's not a handy goal sneak then what exactly is he? he struggles to mark the ball (even against opponents half his size) and most of his goals are opportunistic goalsneak type goals.
Had the privilege of being at this game, he is a dead set super star!
thanks so much for these radio calls =D that second goal was the most amazing thing i've seen in my life
osbornes like yeh whateva ya good high five yawn
yes, these goals clutched the game
@thescabman the reason that he was selected at CHF in AA team is because he is tall and the genuine centre half forwards missed too many games through injury. He is a all tall flanker who needs a key forward next to him to perform at his best.
Ok mate. Please provide 11 examples of Lewis Jetta doing this 2x in a game in 2012.
What language are these people speaking
@damianrwhite "seen at least 100 better" have you? Name them.
Jetta has never done that
I was there!
@KingKossie quite happy to list them if required.
gotta love our game
buddy's the best
His unbelevible
@jwatsontas if you are judging it as a stand alone goal, which goals of the week, year etc are, it cannot be judged as part of a sequence. Buddy is a very handy goal sneak and and extraordinary athlete. Not in the best 150 players i have seen though.
So who is number 150? Surely he could bump him off the list.......
How about now, is he in the top 150 yet? He's kicked over 1000 goals, not bad huh?
buddy's the best
His unbelievable
luke darcy has to be the worst commentator ever!
Everytime I watch this Luke Darcy just f*cks it
Mac Harvey I know he is so boring
Take that.
Just back on my annual visit in 2019 watching this amazing goal #alwayshawthorn

What a champ !!!!
Gives me chills :)
i'm in wa mate, perth, rockingham region
Amazing Goal just a awesome one on one contest
What gun buddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Love Brayshaw's "No. no NOOO!!!"
@damianrwhite The reason he was selected at CHF is because he's one of the best players in the comp. It's that simple. It has nothing to do with other players, it has to do with Buddy.

What about LJ Hooker the poor bugger!
The Hawks showcased the mans ability and now The Swans have the man !
yeah and he has lost 2 grand finals since going north and just pocketed alot of cash.
Sydney couldn't buy a premiership unfortunately
poor Hooker, had the 2010 goal of the year kicked on him, then in 2011 had Walker take what should of been mark of the year, at least his in the highlight reel i suppose.
goal of the year 2010
Wtf he is awesome
I reckon Franklin will come back to WA next year or maybe GWS. He definitely won't stay at the Hawks.
nice prediction mate !!!!
Did Hawthorn win?
Franklin is just to good
That is your under 12s stuff Jim!
Does the name Kepler Bradley, mean nothing to you?
what frequency is triple m, also is it AM or FM?
Luke Darcy still manages to fuck this call up with his worthless output. Ugh. BRING BACK BT.
Yes yes YESSSSS
Did Essendon win
enjoyed this even as a bomber fan
WHAT ABOUT LJ HOOKER THE POOR BUGGER!!! HAHAHA
Gary Lyon at 2.14 "What about LJ Hooker the poor bugger!" Classic.
The only thing that ruins this is Luke Darcy's monotone dribble. JB should have gone solo or would have been good if BT hadn't left or Rex was there instead.

Who was the peanut calling those plays, should be banned for life for not letting someone with a voice take over.
Luke Darcy ruins this call
Was at this game
Darcy's a rubbish caller and almost ruins it, but the goal is sublime.
Can only wonder had Franklin not left Hawthorn how many more Flags he and The Hawks would have bad on his ability and the other talent that was around as well? go hawks
greatest thing in afl history ever ;\p and i hate the hawks
@haggspah i'm judging it as a stand alone goal as it should be judged. LOve the chiefs comment slamming Dermie.
2inarowfrombudsin!
completely true. terrible commentator.
Interested to know what people think of this "freak" now? Had the ball kicked to him 28 times against North and won zero contests, his opponent marked 9 of them. As I have always said he is a very good goalsneak, nothing more.
Egg on your face much? Try and kick him when he's a bit lost for form. Hes a DEAD SET SUPERSTAR!!
hey remember that time he kicked thirteen goals against that scummy North Melbourne? Reckon he won a few contests during that game. I guess he was playing on the biggest flog in the AFL, Scott Thompson though
could not put it better myself Zac i wonder what that fucktard thinks now a good average player maybe?
damianrwhite interested to know what you think of this “goalsneak” now?
That is a man - dead set taking it!! Lol
Look at LJ Hooker!
:O
vastly overrated goal, seen at least 100 better
look how slow the guy was chasing him LOL... any other player would of caught him
