what almost everyone doesnt understand about beamng drifting is, that you cant really just jump in a vanilla drift config and send it, it works with experience but the real drift cars that are acutally good, have to be tuned by yourself, dont ever run "drift tires" always run sport, much more grip and predictability, have the suspension decently soft, at least in the rear, dont have bump dampening too high so your car is able to sqaut down under power and grip up, and have rebound a bit higher so it doesnt jump up too fast when you let off, also for wheel alignment, base aligment would be, 0 toe front and rear, 0 camber in the rear, and 3.5 degrees of camber in the front, however keep im mind you need to tune it with the "advanced wheel debug" UI app since for some reason the values in the tuning menu dont resemble the actual wheel alignment, this was both a rant and hopefully an informative comment at once, please give the game a chance instead of saying its shit, just because you are too incompetent to tune a car on your own, with proper tuning it gets close to assetto

I made a car in Automation that can beat anyone if we talk about touge. It has semi-slicks,a naturally aspirated I5 engine producing around 350 hp. It can slide very good and can go really fast. You just basically have to clutchkick it in 4th gear. It's name is Volise Daikin. Let me know if you're interested about it.
The steering wheel going nuts is because of something called Oversteer Reduction Assistant. What it does is it tries to straighten out the car, and makes the steering shit. If you go to Options>Gameplay>Driving Assistants and look at the second to last assistant, you will find Oversteer Reduction Assistant. Turn it off and the steering wheel shouldn't be crazy next time.
bruh goose, i love ur videos and theyre cool and all, but u really arent giving beamng much of a chance lol... u cant use vanilla configs because theyre actually trash. tune the car urself- u can search up videos and stuff for better wheel setups (i play on controller and drift imo pretty nicely without the assist). the vanilla cars are not well suited for drifting on wheel or controller, its more for the casual keyb+mouse player who doesnt care about how good the drifting physics are. i mean if u want an experience closer to assetto corsa but with the insane crash physics of beam, then actually try and tune the cars instead of complaining how the game is shit...
you have to make you're own config for drifting. the vanilla cars are outdated and are not tuned for drifting whatsoever. the thing that is confusing for some people getting into beamng is that there is no real metric for tuning anything. its all in %. it is very possible to drift in beamng its just not plug and play like assetto or other simulators. also it would be a good idea to tune your ffb. default settings are terrible. as a good starter drift car with plenty of power and low end torque, long wheel base and somewhat decent handling suspension would be the bluebuck. take the stock drift config and set any wheel geometry settings to 0 (the settings all the way at the bottom of the tuning tab). then set the toe on the front wheels to be around positive 50%. ideally you want there to be as much toe as possible in the front, however 100% is kind of cheating imo lol. this allows for the tires to not only have more angle, but grip up more when almost spinning out. personally camber doesn't really make that much of a difference in the front, however in the rear it can be a more precise way of limiting grip. set the toe in the rear to be around negative 20%. this allows for better transitions and for the car to resist spinning out more. you'll want there to be more tire pressure in the front than in the back. too much in the front and you'll end up spinning out. too little and the car will be very snappy and overly responsive. this setting is really a matter of preference so tune it to taste. taking more weight out of the rear might have some good results as well.

By the way: If you‘re doing another BeamNG video (ig its not 100% safe) you can go in FreeCam with Shift+C. If you hold shift again if you enabled FreeCam you can also fly faster (you can fly around with WASD and your mouse). Also you can reset your car at the spot where u are with insert. Another thing is that you can hold CTRL and move your mouse onto the car. On the car will appear some circles. You just need to click on them with left click and then you can pull your car at the part which you clicked on. This can also be used in FreeCam. Idk if that helps you but i just wanted to help! And btw im looking forward to other beamng videos!
Just in the update 0.25 added oversteer assisant, and constantly trying to straighten the car straight. He constantly steers on the straight and in drifting it really helps, but only on the keyboard. On the steering wheel, I advise you to climb the settings and turn it off.

The physics are the same but theres an assist for drifting and you can change the strength of it.
